General :: App That Can Extract / Export Playlists From Music Players?

HTC EVO 4G :: Put M3u Playlists And Certain Players
Aug 10, 2010For the life of me I couldn't get any of the players besides Doubletwist to play my m3u playlists! Doubletwist worked but it was just waaayyyy to slow. I come from the iPhone and iPod where it was super easy to get your music on your device. So with that said, and this may be knowledge that most of you already know, but Im gonna post it because it may help someone.
I created a folder titled "Music" in the root section of the SD card. Opened up iTunes and found the playlist I wanted to have on my EVO. Right clicked on the playlist title (in itunes) and exported the playlist as an m3u file on my desktop. Opened the Music folder on my EVO and simply dragged and dropped the m3u file into the music folder. Then, I went back to iTunes, selected all the songs in that playlist, and dragged and dropped those songs into the Music folder on my EVO.
Disconnected the EVO after the transfer was complete and fired up Btunes. BOOM! My playlist and all corresponding songs were there! I checked Doubletwist and the playlist showed there too! So I hooked the EVO back up and transferred a bunch more playlists (about 6 gigs worth) and Btunes and DoubleTwist showed those too! So right now, Btunes and DoubleTwist (the only two I tried) work with this method. While it may not keep track of playcounts and things like that, it does work for now.

Jul 25, 2010So, back in the day, when the first iPod Video came out, I thought it was about high time for me to join the whole "iRevolution" bandwagon. I mean, how cool would it be that I could FINALLY have a slick little device that I could put in my pocket and take with me everywhere which played ALL of my media? When it all first came out, such an idea was incredible, and I wanted to be a part of that. This was to be my first (and last) Apple device, and as such, I had never futzed around with iTunes ever before, because my media library was already well developed and existed even before the iPod's inception.
I have always been an avid Winamp user. It is, and always has been, a powerful, open-ended, lightweight and, for me, a familiar and simple-to-use program. As such, my entire media library consists of many many .m3u playlists and file formats ranging from everything from your typical mp3's, to wma's, too .ogg's and .flac's, all of which the mighty Android has no problems playing back whatsoever (which, in the case of the .flac and .ogg's was quite a pleasant surprise for me!). So, when I plugged in my iPod for the first time, I thought it would be just as easy as taking my root media folder and simply dragging and dropping the whole thing onto the device. Why shouldn't it be that simple? After all, this is Apple, the monarch of simplicity! So, I anxiously wait several hours while all my stuff copies over to the iPod, and finally when it finishes, I check it out, only to discover that NONE of my media is accessible on my iPod. Angry, and frustrated, I do some research which led me to discover that there was in fact nothing wrong with my iPod at all. The problem was that I absolutely needed to use iTunes to put all my media onto the device, AND I had to convert EVERYTHING over to the iTunes format. Really? Seriously!? When I discovered that iTunes estimated it would have taken at LEAST two weeks to perform a complete conversion of everything, assuming it went flawlessly, and without any interruptions or any other unforeseen issues, I decided F### THAT $###!!! I want my $300 back! And from that day forward, as if to avoid the plague, I have steered clear of owning ANYTHING with a lower case "i" in the front of it. Anyway, enough of a rant...
Long story short:
Is there some way to get .m3u playlists to work on the Captivate? I used to have a Nokia E71, and on that phone .m3u playlist importation/creation/recognition was breeze; just copy your files to your sdcard, load them up in Winamp, save a playlist file on the sdcard. 1, 2, 3, done! Now however, I find myself futzing around with tag editors, which although they work (sorta kinda), they're awkward and complicated compared to just creating a play list in Winamp, and clicking "Save Playlist."
There has to be some easier way....I'm using Winamp.

Aug 24, 2010I got the X10 2 or 3 weeks ago, previous phone was a Samsung Jet. I watch quite a few films but so far I can't get the quality. The files are mainly divx encoded but I have been converting to mpeg4 to play them in Mediascape. The video is skipping / jumping even though it is not at a super-high resolution, bitrate etc. Does anyone know what the best settings are to get video that's watchable? The Jet would play divx files no problem at all and I assumed the X10 would be at least as good...

the user has to swipe down to bring back the navigation bar (the book readers, games example) or touch the screen (the video players example).Is there a way (even if it involves a custom rom) to make video players use the swipe down implementation? The reason I ask is that I have a toddler who I often let watch cartoons on youtube (ie while waiting for food at a restaurant...). He constantly touches buttons on the navigation bar on accident which stops the video and then I have to take the phone from him, restart the app, restart the video, and give it back. I would love to be able to use the swipe-down implementation in this scenario.
HTC Incredible :: Music - Video Players That Recognize Internal Storage
May 3, 2010Are there any video or music player apps that are capable of recognizing media on the internal storage? I know that the HTC players can do it, but I'm looking for something with a few more features. I've tried mixzing, Act 1, and cubed (aka RockOn), but they each can only see files on SD cards. There does not seem to be a way to tell the apps to look in the /emmc directory. I'm new to Android so maybe it's just a matter of developers updating their apps for the Incredible?
I was thinking, alternatively, is there a way to create a symbolic link with an app like Astro to make the files *appear* like they're on the SD card?

Nov 6, 2008Here is a cool trick to save videos to your G1.If you use firefox web browser you will need to download a plugin called download helper.Now you go to youtube and find a video you like.then wait for it to load.then when you select download helper in the top right corner you select from dropdown menu the file name of video followed by .flv.when you download the .flv file then i use xvidforpsp and convert the .flv to mp4 ot h.264 and then copy it to the G1 memory card and tada you just saved the youtube video for playback to your G1 to play at anytime and save without having to find it again.

Let me make clear to you that non-english characters (greek letters) at my songs are nearly unreadable at players. General :: Windows 7 Default Folder View For Portable Media Players
Sep 28, 2013This is technically a Win7 question, but much related to Android. On my older Android devices, when connected to PC via USB for file transfer, they would "mount" the SD card as a standard disk drive within Windows. On my newer Android devices, however, they instead connect the device to Windows as a "portable media player." This is fine, except for one thing which really irks me. Every time the portable media player director structure comes up, it is displayed as giant icons. If I change it to "list" or "detail" view within Windows, there are two big problems:
- it doesn't stick (i.e. I'll reconnect later and it will be back to giant icon view)
- it doesn't apply recursively to all subfolders
With regular Win7 file explorer (i.e. for disk drives), it is really easy to set a default folder view for all disk drives on the whole system, and it will stick forever, and apply to all subfolders on every drive. Is it possible to do the same thing with portable media players?

Jun 20, 2011Basically what happens is any music on the external SD card will sometimes just disappear from my music app playlists. Most of the time it happens after unmounting/remounting the external SD. So I starting shutting off the phone every time I needed to remove the card. But it's happened at least once without unmounting the card.
I could put the music on the internal storage and not have a problem, but wanted to save that space for other things. So hoping to find a way to be able to restore the missing songs back to the playlists without having to manually remake them myself.
General :: Galaxy S3 - Playlists Aren't Saving
Sep 25, 2012I just got a Galaxy S3 and I moved my songs onto a micro sd card. This was a chore. The sync feature didn't work. Th message on my machine said my disk was full,. So, I finally ended up taking out the microsd and puting it into an adaptor and moving my songs onto it.
I put back the card back into the phone. I can play songs off of the card. However, I can't seem to save any made up playlists. I've used winamp and google music player to try to make playlists. The playlists seem to disappear after a while.

General :: Can't Play Any Playlists With Lenovo A820
May 21, 2013I have J river MC 18 (last stable 175) and I have android 4.1 phone. I use a official ROM. I use SD card of 32GB kingston. My phone is Lenovo A820.In MC I have many list of music.
So, the m3u file is correct. In m3u file there are 193 songs and all it's ok. the problem is that when I try play this playlist, in the playlist since in the app phone, there are only 120 songs (not 193). So the app in the phone only read the list with 120 songs! I try this apps and I have the same problem:
-Winamp
-Google music
-Poweramp
-Songbird
-Poweramp
-Playerpro
MC work fine because m3u file it's ok (in there there are 193 songs). So I suppose that is a problem of my phone? but in ALL applications I have the SAME problem!
Any of my songs there are the name with special chars . I've seen that ALL lost songs in the playlists have special chars. If the name of the song is "caf del mar 12" there song don't play in the list. But if the song file name is "cafe del mar 12" there song is played ok in any program. The mp3 files are sync well. The m3u files are sync well. But when I try play the playlist from the phone many songs are lost (only the songs with the special chars).
General :: How To Delete Auto Playlists (Play Music App)
Jan 29, 2014There is an annoying playlist on my Nexus 5 on Play Music app. It is under Auto Playlists and is called "Last added". I can't seem to delete it, which is annoying. I don't know if these auto playlists will go away after some time by themselves, but if not, do any of you know how to delete the playlist?
Btw, I used iSyncr to transfer my music from Mac to phone, and I didn't have that playlist before.
