When I go to the recovery mode, I see a different symbol there. There is also a exclamatory mark with no warning given. My phone is just working fine and there are no issues with it.why I am getting this symbol at the recovery screen.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI father-in-law has an Atrix 2 and the screen was in perfect condition. It was running extremely slow, so i did a factory reset for him. There is now a weird mark on his screen that seems to get bigger everyday. I told him it has nothing to do with the factory reset, but I believe he may have had it in his one cargo pocket and press against something. There is no visible damage to the exterior of the screen. I have attached a photo to see what it could possibly be if it is not from physical damage.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't have a rooted phone. I've been running the IK5 firmware for a while with no problems. I had to travel to the states and put my phone on airplane mode and then decided to shut it off. When I tried to turn it on, it would get to the Samsung "glowing" logo and stay there for awhile. Then the screen would flash and the Samsung logo would appear again. My phone was stuck in a loop after that. It never booted up. I decided to try and reload the firmware and that didn't help. Then I tried recovery mode. That's when I got the infamous triangle with and exclamation point in it. After that nothing. I guess I may have somehow bricked an unrooted phone. Although this isn't my specialty.

After 2 days,I have installed AVAST Anti theft app and forgot the password for it...so i gave it to reinstall the OS...and it was back to normal...So I thought to put custom rom..and started to boot the device with SD card inside....BUT the recovery didnt show any options as it was shown earlier,the black screen appears with triangle mark with '!' symbol....

Its a few pixels or so near the middle of the screen. Its not pixels solid out, but a few that almost looks like a 'mar'. It only shows up when the front camera is on, but if I take a picture, there are no marks on the screen?

I am trying to install a rom (Liquid Frozen Yogurt) onto my Motorola Droid. I rebooted, came back and there is a strange symbol on the screen. It is a triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle, and it is standing upright staring down at my phone laying flat. I'm not sure if it's working away, or if this is some problem.

I do have a question that I cannot answer from the manual. in the top left of the screen in the status bar i have a symbol of a person with a circle (looks like the circle when refreshing twitter or emails etc). i cannot work out what this means, I do not have any unread notifications and my friend does not have this symbol on his tattoo.

I had to reboot the phone 5 times to get it work and it was fine; however, i just installed flash and have rebooted 5 times and the phone screen is still stuck at the Motorola symbol upon restart. I can hear emails coming in and i can turn the screen on and off but no go. Looks like I am going to Verizon.

I proceeded to try and turn the phone off but it gave me lots of options with a white screen, i couldn't get it to do anything so i took the battery out and then it started normally.
All versions of CWM recovery I've tried and built for the HTC Desire SV (dual sim) has this strange behaviour: when scrolling down through the menu, the screen jumps some characters for every odd menu item, and is correctly displayed for every even menu item.
This is with CWM Recovery 6.0.3.6.
Is this a bug, or any way to configure my source files to correct this?
I'm trying to build CWM for the HP Slate 7 Plus, but both touch and non-touch builds coming from the CWM Builder and manually built builds give a black screen with a few white lines when booted into recovery. The stock recovery.img I provided to the builder is valid because people were able to reflash the same recovery.img via Flashify with no issues, which is the same method used to flash the defunct CWM. I don't have the Slate 7 Plus, so I can't test things myself
The best I can do right now is debloat, deodex, and pre-root ROMs, as well as install more system apps.
I have a T-mobile mytouch (Huawei) and i want to try different roms but when i go into recovery there is no option to backup.. is there a way i can get another recovery that would let me back up or am i just stuck with the stock rom?

When I flash CWM for S7262. The screen gooes white. i cannot root my phone .
I recently bought a Chinese Mediatek 'pbablet' phone/tablet combination; running Android 4.2.2 Model: MTK6572. Due to it being cheap, it was ideal so I thought, for flashing and development, however I maybe wrong.
However I cannot get it into recovery mode. It won't display the menu when holding down volume + and the power button when powering on.
When pressing these two buttons together on start-up, it actually remains a black screen, and it won't turn on after doing this, and I have to keep pressing the tiny reset button on the side of this device every time I attempt to enter recovery, to get it to turn on as normal again.
Pressing and holding volume - and power at the same time on start-up brings up "Factory mode" (in Chinese) and has no options available for flashing/ROM/ functions, except 'testing' the devices' hardware. This phone doesn't have any other physical buttons except power, volume + and -
I am able to successfully enter CWR by flashing it with MTKDroidTools and rebooting into the recovery mode (while powered up and in the android OS) however I still cannot get into CWR or any recovery mode at all while powering up with power and volume +
I just want to be able to enter a recovery mode on this device, to ensure no future issues and doubts upon the unfortunate events of a permanent brick. My idea is to flash this phablet with ParanoidAndroid; or cyanogenmod, and I could try doing this with a software reset, but then what if the ROM is incompatible, and totally bricks it? Then I have no way in hell to revive and reflash, because I can't access the recovery mode anyway.
I have came to the conclusion that it maybe due to the filesystem, potentially due to it's fbifs, that is the cause to no recovery mode, but what if it's ext4, does any of this make a difference.
Is there any way to make this device open the recovery menu while powering it on?
When I attempt to enter recovery mode while powering up with volume +, the device is basically a brick, until I press reset. It doesn't respond at all. The only way to enter recovery menu is by booting into android resetting the device into recovery mode via an app.

I'm using samsung galaxy i5510 , and my problem is i'm having a dim dark invisble screen on cwm recovery 5.0.2.6 and some 2.3.6 official roms , and in all modded roms 7 and 10 that i found here ,even with this problem i succeed installing some mod roms using cwm recovery that is barely visible but the same problem the rom installed is dark and invisible but installed ,

I don't want to come back to 2.2 or 2.3.6 beacause i can do it but i want a solution to install modded roms and cwm recovery without the screen problem.

If Google is trying to target business users they need to get their act straight. The problem is not putting semi column or comma or upside down questionmark to dial extensions, but the issue is the compatibility.
Outlook and most contact management/e-mail systems use X as a divider between main number and extension.
It also makes sense "x" "eXtension". Anyway, I was able to sync all my contact beautifully, only to find out that I cannot call my clients, friends or the companies where I have to dial extensions. I don't remember all their extensions, and I cannot change hundreds of them one by one.
Any way to replace the default "x" for extension in Outlook 2010. Otherwise Android is useless for those calls.
Recently i saw a file [URL] ..... to enable WiFi tethering in nexus7 so rooted correctly and flashed the device with that file i think i made a mistake in this part and then i restarted the device from then it gets hanged in that X symbol.
