I would like to know how to create these additional groups?
I'm rooted with Busybox installed.

I have an android 2.1 (Samsung I5700 Spica). Does android use only "google contact" for manage all contacts? Even when I manually add contact on the top it says "Google contact from MyEmailId@gmail.com". The reason for asking is if you select "Menu">"Display Options">select "MyEmailId@gmail.com" you can select "System Group" How do I add certain contact to one of these groups, by default if I manually create a contact it goes and sits in "System Group: My Contacts". Is there an option where one can add contact not get stored under google contact?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Mini2 with Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). I don't like how call log appears.If you call someone by 5 times, the name of the contact/ number will appear by 5 time in the call log.The same with missed calls.I want to appears only one date. Example: To show "Contact name/ phone number" (5) and when click on the contact name to show the detailed information. They bounce back to me because they are sending to their land phones! Obviously there are multiple phone numbers for these contacts, and the first time this happened I went into the contacts to set the mobile number as default - but that makes no difference. Google Android still tries to send them to the landlines! My phone uses ICS.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm on T-Mobile with Sony Xperia Z1S, and my all other friends are all with AT&T and iPhone.
Whenever I'm included in their group text (or I sent out group text including them), I never get much of luck working.
I will more likely get bunch of individual MMS text from all 5 friends (iPhone) with "touch to download" but the text itself nowhere to found, and even i touch the "touch to download" mms, it doesn't download anything.
I forgot to mention, i use "hangout" as my main SMS and message app.
I have asked same question on G+ and one person replied and said he has no problem with group text with other iPhone user, and suggested me to have group message on hangout setting, and turn off Wi-Fi calling. I tried and still doesn't work.
I tried to search, but I only found answers for gmail. Is there a way that I can group emails by sender? I get updates from websites and I would like them to just group together instead of filling my inbox.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been running 4.2 on my Galaxy Nexus since the day it became available. With the new group messaging feature that was included I noticed that when conversating with friends who have HTC phones (Rezound and more recently DNA) their messages would come over separate. But iPhones, samgung, etc... would work just fine.
I thought maybe it was just a small bug with the phone but after flashing CM10.1 on my Note 2 I have the exact same problem.
I've done a ton of searching and still haven't been able to find a solution that works for me. I am on Virgin Mobile and have an Optimus V. Most of my friends have iPhones and when they send a group text message it shows up as a blank message for me. I downloaded Go SMS Pro and it still doesn't work in there. I don't want any app that would give me a new number. BTW, I receive group texts from those of my friends that have Windows phones just fine.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust to start off, I have a Droid 3, flashed to metro. I didn't flash it myself, so I don't have very extensive knowledge, but it is rooted.
1) My biggest problem: I can't receive or send group messages. I tried both handcent and go sms pro. In GO sms Pro, I've checked Send Settings > MMS Group Chat. I can send and receive MMS, but when I send it to multiple people, they all receive individual texts rather than a group text. Long story short I'm trying to message a group of people with iPhones. How can I do this or what exact settings do I need? I've looked at other threads, but to no avail.
2) 3G isn't working. It worked when I initially got it, and when I called the place that flashed my phone, they said that Metro sent out some file that blocks the 3G access.
Is there anyway to send out a group email through Gmail on your phone? I've been using the app Contacts Group U to do this but it would be nice to do it straight through Gmail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed AOKP custom rom on my Samsung Galaxy nexus yesterday and everything works fine so far except 2 things:
1) I can not receive or send group text messages from the android messaging app. I know I can use other apps like whatapp, etc to do this...but I want to use regular messaging app that sends it as message over verizon cell network.
2) My battery was down to 30% and I took it out and put it back in....and the battery indicator shows it at 100%. Thats obviously not right.
Second, is it possible to ad 'GROUP CHAT' in the stock messaging app? Go SMS allows this currently but it's a very slow app. Stock messaging app works great, so it would be great if it could become a possibility.
FYI: My current phone is Evo LTE.
So I got the Galaxy Note 2 in December and I have been loving it but the only thing I miss is the iMessage group chat. So in the messaging app I can start a group chat but when I get texts back it just comes into that friend's name chat, not the group chat I started. But my main concern is that I am part of a group chat with my friends but it doesn't put those in a folder when they are sent to me. It just comes up as an MMS. I have tried GOSMSPro but maybe I am dumb and group chatting might not be possible to get all the messages in the same folder?

They are all in a group chat together and the problem is, when my girlfriend receives messages as part of the group chat, she has to actually download them as if they were picture messages. That obviously uses up a lot of data and it gets very frustrating after a while. So how can she get her phone to receive messages normally just like every other recipient in the group chat does, so that she doesn't have to download all of them which not only is very tedious, but highly data-consuming.

My issue that my two friends that have galaxy s4's whenever they respond to a group message their messages come to me as individual threads, but other peoples goes to the group text.
I have a moto x (but it was doing the same thing on my gnexus). Other friends all of their messages go to the group (iphone, moto x, htc one).
Both S4 users came from iphones.
I recently wanted to group text with people with iphones and one blackberry and needless to say it was a disaster. I have tried both the stock messaging app and SMS go, and both fail miserably when receiving and sending texts that are in a group thread, I receive them all separately and send them all separately. Is there an app to do this?

After calling apple and removing my imessage certificate I started receiving INDIVIDUAL text messages from iphone users; however, when I am in a group message with other iphone users it continues to try and send messages to me as imessages. My friends have tried deleting my contact info on their phone along with all text message threads with me in it, but nothing has worked so far.

Every recipient sees who's included the thread and they "Reply all" to each message. It also looks like Blackberry's can handle this group messaging feature. But my Android phone can't. The default messaging app, Google Voice, and Handcent all split up each group text into individual threads, which makes it really difficult to manage the conversation. These apps also think that the group texts are MMS messages, which is doubly annoying.

My family sends out a plethora of group messages each morning that goes well beyond the "have a good morning". Just this morning I received 15 texts in 30 minutes from five of them. One will start the conversation as a group message and the others jump on the bandwagon. Is there a way I can "block" from receiving group messages? I want to still receive individual texts from them - I just never want to receive a group text. Asking them to not include me in the group has not seemed to work. Background: ----------------- One of the applications I developed uses a native shared library (e.g. myNativeLib.so). Only my application loads & uses this native library. I had developed this app before Android NDK came out. I pack my native library into my apk's 'assets' folder, and during my application start- up, I extract this native library from my package's assets folder to my app private directory (i.e. <assets> -> /data/data/<myappprocess>/ myNativeLib.so). Then I use System.load() API in my application to dynamically load this native library.
Problem: ------------ This application was developed during Android 1.5 (i.e. cupcake) days {I didn't have the Nexus One then}. The above procedure has been working without any problems right from Android 1.5 to Android 2.2 (i.e. Froyo). I have also tested the same on my Nexus One for Android 2.1 (i.e. Eclair) and Android 2.2.
The problem began the moment I recently upgraded my Nexus One to Android 2.2.1 via the FRG83 system update. Now, whenever I try to load my native library, I get the following error:

This should've taken care of any changes in the native code dependencies between Android 2.2 & Android 2.2.1 3. I even checked Android 2.2.1 source code for dalvik (java System & Runtime classes) + bionic (linker & dlopen sources) between Android 2.2 & Android 2.2.1 (using source checked out from Android open-source), but couldn't find anything consequential 4. I am unable to return my Nexus One to Android 2.2.
