Is there away to automatically block private numbers? I get stupid robot calls, leaving blank voice mall things, Dickheads calling me ect, if you don't have a number I don't Wanna talk to you. How can I stop this? I have a rooted HTC One.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy organization recently developed an app for our team to use with our Android phones. The app is work tool that is proprietary to our organization, and we had planned to install it to our phones as a non-market app. However - we just discovered that AT&T (most of our phones) does not provide this option on their Android phones.
We also looked into side loading but the process is too hands on to manage our hundreds of agents who are spread around the country.
Can we publish the app to the market but limit the access somehow?
I have 2 tools - 1 : APK Manager - 2: Signare (both have their official posts on xda)
I also have jdk 1.6 update 32 installed on my windows 7 x64 bit.
I have created a private key signature manually using the -keytool -v -keystore command and also have created a private key signature using signare.exe app
I am able to sucessfully decompile and recompile apk files (non system apk - example an adw theme) . Now when i am signing the .apk file, the following takes place.
-when i sign it with a test key uaing apk manager, i am able to put it in my sd card and install it and it works fine.
- now when i sign it with a private key signature ( any of the two that i have created), it gets signed successfully but when i put it in my sd card and install it , i get an error message "Application Not Installed".
I really need to know how to ressolve this issue so that i can sign it with a private key .
I heard that app developers can potentially access all your photos. Is this right and how can you keep them private?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to publish an application to the Play store using a private channel. I registered as a developer but there is no option for enabling private channel under the domain settings>mobile tab. Likewise, there is also no option under 'Pricing and Distribution' in the developer console to make the application private as the google suggests.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm only finding what i'd call "big apps" when i search. I just want a widget to enable or disable incoming private calls.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt would be interesting to know if the number of people buying apps is growing as fast as the number developing them. Has anyone seen data about either?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm developing a big application and a part of it is about contacts. I want to, first, get all the groups of contacts. And when the users selects one, show all the contacts of the group.
I've seen other applications and widgets (like LauncherPro widget or HTC Sense Widget) than can do it, but when I try, I don't get same results.
My code is:
1.- To get an example group (this is just for testing, in real application user selects):
Code:
long idGroup = 0;
String[] GROUP_PROJECTION = new String[] {
ContactsContract.Groups._ID, ContactsContract.Groups.TITLE };
Cursor c = mcp.getContext().getContentResolver().query(ContactsContract.Groups.CONTENT_URI, GROUP_PROJECTION, null, null, ContactsContract.Groups.TITLE + " ASC");
[Code]...
2.- To filter Users by group??
My credit history is not good at all. I don't want to be let down on June 4th. View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got off the phone with 3 separate Best Buy stores about how much the EVO will cost off contract because I wanted to come in and pre order. All of them told me $600!.I guess that $450 was a pipe dream... Did sound too good to be true. Especially when the Incredible is $529 off contract
View 49 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to purchase the HTC EVO directly and outside of the contract? Right now I'm on Sprint's cheapest plan, and I don't want to upgrade to Sprint's data plan which would cost me $50 more per month. I know that a direct purchase would be more money, but assuming I have the phone for two years, it can't be $1,200 more ($50*24). I'm only going to use the web features at home or in the office, where I have WiFi anyway. If I REALLY need to use the data service here or there, it still won't cost me $50 more paying per KB. When at home or in the office, I could also use Google Voice to make all of my phone calls over WiFi if I go over my 300 minutes (which I won't). Will Sprint allow me to activate an unlocked phone on their network? Are there glaring gaps in this plan?
View 7 Replies View RelatedTechnically, they didn't hold their end of the contract. I bet we could use this as a way out of our contract if it came down to it. Does anyone know the rules about that? And if it is, anyone getting the EVO 4g with Sprint? That would prolly be where I went.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince lots of people here are on Orange it seems an appropriate place to ask. Do Orange charge separately for MMS even if you are on an unlimited texts contract? I get the impression they do, which is really very irritating. I don't suppose there's any way around it by ringing up and negotiating?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I have one of the evos already and I called a sprint store to ask about activating it and what not. what I figured is since I did not get the phone subsidized from sprint then I should be able to activate it without being stuck in a 2 year contract. Well the guy I talked to told me otherwise. Does that seem right? Why should I be forced in to contract if I did not get the phone through them.
View 31 Replies View RelatedI'm currently waiting for the Desire to come out on O2, but am still not sure whether this is the best thing to do, or whether I should just get it SIM free and get an O2 Simplicity SIM (I want O2 because of the data allowance and because I know the coverage is good here, unlike other networks).My issues are, if I get it on O2 will it be ruined by them, covered in O2 stuff inside and out. But, if I get it SIM free, will it be difficult to set up when I put the SIM in, for messaging/internet access/whatever. I'm not that techie minded so if it's complicated to set all this up on a SIM free phone I might struggle.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm confused as to which contract I want to get with Orange.I'm looking for the cheapest option as I don't make that many phone calls, but I want to be able to use the internet on the phone.Have been looking on carphonewarehouse but I can't see which one offers the internet in the price.
View 28 Replies View RelatedJust in case someone else has the same dilema i had by buying thier EVO online for full price so they dindt have to get the 2 year contract. but then realizing that sprint requires a new 2 year contract with every new line you activete regardles of you bought the phone outright or not. heres how how to get around it.
1 Buy EVO 4G wherever.
2 Activated old phone with a new number on the basic Month to month 200 plan (had to be done at the Sprint store they wold not let me activate over the phone with this plan)
3 go home and upgrade plan online to 99.00 unlimited everything
4 Swap old phone with EVO under activate new phone online
5 Port your phone number from whereever you have it to Sprint replacing the new phone you just got when you avtivated the line
Thats it, it quite a few steps but atleast you wont have to worry about getting locked in to a new 2 year contract.
So, I've heard too many mixed things in like 50 different threads, and can't really make sense of all of them, so I thought I'd just make a new thread.
What is the best place to buy Evo off contract? Certain places like Wirefly don't sell off contract, others like Amazon apparently don't either. Places like Best buy and radio shack seem to have a higher off contract price ($549). Sprint's online store seems to be the most obvious choice, but then we get stuck with Tax (which for california is nearly 50$ dollars)
So, has anyone done their research and figured out what place will be best, and why?
Alright so I have the alias 2 currently and have about a year left on my 2 Year Contract. What is the deal with the contracts? I hear from some people that I could get the phone at the 2 year price and it would then extend my contract another 2 years from that date. Or is the 2 year contract with the phone, where I would NEED to cancel the contract in order to get the 2 year pricing on the droid incredible?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am closing an AT&T family plan and changing it back to one line. AT&T obviously wants to charge me for early cancellation unless I can find someone to transfer the second line to. They said it can be ANYONE. The perk for you is that you would NEVER have to have a contract. They will send me a new sim card, which in turn I would send to you. You would be responsible for getting your own phone. Once you have that, all you need to do is call AT&T and tell them what service you want. Again, best part is no contract.It's called TOBR (Transfer of Billing Responsibility.)

My boyfriend just left for Basic Training for the Army, and I should be expecting a call from him soon, and then possibly every Sunday. It could be from his phone, or a phone at the base, I don't know which.
I work weekends so I need to find an app that will only allow incoming calls from my boyfriends number and ALL unknown numbers.
I've been able to find apps to add people to "VIP" lists, but not one that also allows the silencing of my entire contact list and allows Unknown.
(I'm trying to avoid downloading an app and manually going in and silencing everyone.
I have a very basic question and I hope somebody can help me. I want to buy an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S phone and use it exclusive as a WiFi phone in the USA. Can I buy an unlocked phone and expected to work with WiFi without having to have an agreement with the phone companies? I don't mind paying $600+ for the phone, but it is the monthly fees from the phone companies that I would like to avoid. I am almost certain that this would work, but I just wanted to ask that question before I actually buy the phone. I want to make sure that the phone companies and/or Samsung have not done something that would prevent me from doing this without a contract.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure why I decided to do this but I got the Droid with the 2yr contract but now after realizing the 1yr price is only 70 more I would have rather done that. Anyone know if you can change that after the fact? Say pay the extra amount for the phone and shorten the contract?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDo most of the Android developers on this list use their own phone for testing? Or there are ways to obtain Android phones that are unlocked and require no contract? Any advice on that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI like both phones a lot. Each has something that it can do better than the other. Now I'm just kinda picking by the carrier. With Verizon, I will most likely have better coverage everywhere I go, which is important because my dad is a truck driver. I will be paying $180 for for 2 lines with 1500 mins, web on both phones, and unlimited texts I will be stuck on 3G, not 4g. i heard that verizon's 3G is still pretty fast though. With T-mobile I will prob have worse coverage everywhere I go. Paying for 3000 mins, unlimited texts, web on both phones, and will be getting DOUBLE the amount of minutes from Verizon AND 30 BUCKS CHEAPER. I will also have access to t-Mobile's "4g", which isn't too good, but will get better over time. So at first glance, it's obvious I should go with tmobile, but because my dad travels all over the place, I don't think he'll always have coverage compared to Verizon. I am located in North New Jersey and my dad usually goes to PA, NY, VA, ML, and CT. So which carrier is best for coverage in the North East?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI tried to construct SlidingDrawer widget programmatically, but had no luck. The JavaDoc says the constructor needs "AttributeSet attrs" parameter, which is "a specified set of attributes defined in XML".
I provided my own implementation of AttributeSet interface, with all the attributes mentioned in JavaDoc, but got a weird ClassCastException - it seems that it assumes the attrs parameter is of type TypedArray, which seems to be impossible to use as base class (constructor hidden). Is there a way to construct SlidingDrawer programmatically and what is the correct contract to use it ? It is no way clear from the documentation.
