Where did pdanet go? I seen it in the market on a friends phone, I got my nexus one yesterday and looked for it and it was not there. Do I need to get it from the website? I hope I can do this without rooting.

I know this is a noobtastic question, but I have to ask. I was at a crappy hotel the other night and I used PDAnet to check email and what not. If I use the VZW tethering do I have to pay for it? Is it a one time fee like PDAnet or is it a monthly fee? If I use PDAnet am I going to pay out the wazoo on my next bill?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use my Droid Eris to connect my MacBook to the Internet. I'm plugged in, I turn on PdaNet on my phone, but when I try to connect from the computer end, It gives me the following error message:
"Fail to launch PdaNet background service 2, err=61"
I'm running Snow Leopard, but it did the same thing before I upgraded from OS 10.5.
I'm using PDAnet on my HTC magic and speedtest on my computer is reading 1.7 mbps. I am also sharing the connection with my xbox360 to get on live. But Live is laggy. What am I doing wrong.

View 6 Replies View Relatedare there some smarties here that can confirm that PDAnet is safe / secure and doesn't have spyware / adware type capabilities? The reason I ask is because i'll be using it to tether to my laptop. When installing on the laptop...certificate warnings pop up.. the same when installing on droid. (USB debugging warning comes up saying it has to be turned off) which basically means data can be transferred wherever.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust started happening last week. I have everything up to date. Whenever I text, on my pc the app pops up and says "reconnect failed". If I click 'connect', it says to enable USB tether on the phone, which IS enabled. Whenever this happens, I need to go to the phone, turn off PDAnet and then turn it back on. Everytime. So frustrating.
Anyone else have this problem? Using it on an LG ally btw
So i downloaded the application pdanet on my phone and my computer, but i decided i didn't want it anymore so i uninstalled it on my droid and then i uninstalled it on my computer, but when click on my internet connections (on my computer not my phone) it still shows "PdaNet Modem" in my list of internet connections, but uninstalled pdanet, how do i make this go away because its really annoying.
View 6 Replies View RelatedBeen trying to get the bluetooth to work with my pda net. I am having the hardest time getting the phone to connect to my windows 7 laptop. It seems like sometimes it does, but mostly doesn't connect. It will show up in my list of devices but grayed out. it says something like paired, but not connected. Or maybe its the other way around. Then, when it does appear to be connected, I cant get pda net to work properly. Any advice? Been making me crazy for several days now.

I installed PDAnet, it's been working fine until today. I logged on to my facebook & was playing games & messing around. Later I got online again, went to facebook, the page loaded fine. I typed my login info in, hit enter,it took a minute to load, then said page cannot be displayed,then a box popped up in the corner at the bottom telling me Secured pages are blocked, register for full version. So now I cant login to ANYTHING (except this website for some reason). Any idea as to why it was working fine before but not now?

I purchased the full version now I only get a strange partial connect that only loads half pages of what I'm trying to view or get pages that are timing out. Any suggestions on if it is a setting that somehow got changed or something else.

Right now I'm averaging down speeds of 2mbps and up speeds of .8mbps on 3G, I haven't tried on 4G yet since I'm not in a 4G area. This is really the only thing stopping me from updating.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo over the 4th of July, while at the lake, I was able to stream a movie over Netflix to my laptop connected via free PDAnet, however, now (7/19/10) I went to do it again and it says internet connection error but all the other webpages load fine. Any idea what going on? Did Big Red block it somehow? I can navigate the Neflix site, but can't stream.

Im trying to download a 4gig torrent and it seems if im not right here at the damn computer watching it, it will disconnect. If I leave for a while and come back the computer is disconnected from the internet. I have no Idea why it is doing this, all I have to do is hit connect and it connects again its not like I have to restart the program and everything for some reason it just keeps disconnecting after a period of time. Does it have something to do with it being the free version?

I can find my phone under devices but it has nothing listed under device function or bluetooth services. I was able to send my phone a file from my computer via bluetooth. My phone also says under bluetooth devices it's paired but not conectected to my computer. I'm running windows 7. Anybody have any ideal?
View 12 Replies View RelatedBefore the update from 1.5, I had no issues tethering my MacBook through my Droid Eris with PDANet. The phone function of the handset was the only operation that would interrupt the signal.
Since the update, my Eris interrupts my internet frequently, without apparent reason. It begins the annoying cycle of kicking me off the web, alerting me that the phone was not ejected properly, mounting, launching iPhoto (which I cannot prevent from happening), and then I have to exit PDANet and relaunch so I can reconnect. It's a juggling act! Sometimes this cycle will repeat five or six times before the phone and computer settle down.
