I am using Omnirom, I have installed Supersu. However, when I open apps that needs Su permission. It does not prompt out the allow permission window. It seems the Su does not work. Do I need to root Omnirom first? Or something I missed?

So, I'm new to the Android family and I'm curious about the Super User Account. I have no desire to root and install custom mods, I just want the ability to remove all the bloat ware associated with the phone.
My understanding is that I will need to unlock the boot loader, and then install "something" to create the Super User account.

I'm currently running bb.05, every time I click super user it just force closes. All of my rooted apps open and run fine. Has anyone else experienced this? I restarted my phone but it had no affect.
TIBU works, SetCPU works, Screenshots force closes and SU force closes.

I searched on how to completely remove both of these and one method was using Terminal Emulate. When i tried this method and typed in su to start the process it would say "permission denied". Do i have to reroot my phone again in order to get rid of these two apps? I'm doing this in order to take my phone to verizon. Do you guys think its necessary to make it perfectly clean of any "rooted" things? It is now unrooted it just has those two icons!! so frustrating. read somewhere else that if these icons are still there that i am still rooted...is this true? also I do not care if i lose everything... I just want my phone restored to factory settings so i can take it in to verizon..

I'm new to Android (LG Optimus S) so maybe I'm missing something but I downloaded a lock screen widget today - and I can't uninstall it to save my life. I am not totally ignorant, I read the special instructions to remove the widget as a device administrator and tried that first but it just lets me select Deactivate but does not actually deactive, it stays as an administrator no matter what I do, so then the app won't uninstall.

after receiving the recent update for my HTC One X (stock ROM, now Sense 5.0 and Android 4.2.2), the Notes Traveler app for my work e-mails is causing problems (it seems to lose account information regularly and notifies me of failed sync). Since it is about to be replaced soon anyway, I wanted to uninstall the app, which is not possible.
I tried to deactivate the device administrator for Lotus Notes in the system security settings. The checkbox remains checked after deactivation, although there was no error message.I tried to uninstall the app using the app management in system settings. However, the button for uninstalling is still deactivated.
When I go to device admins again and tap Lotus Notes in the list, it asks me if I want to activate it as administrator again. So here it seems as if it was removed from the admins, although the checkbox in the list is always checked. The same happens when I start Notes Traveler while Lotus Notes is seemingly not an activated administrator. I can then re-enter my password and the sync works for a while (less than 1 day) before it loses the password again and re-entering won't fix the problem unless I try removing Lotus Notes from the device admins (which causes all Traveler data to be wiped).
So it seems that the removal of Lotus Notes from device administrators does not work properly. Although I am asked for reactivation when I start the app again, the administrator is still active somewhere in the system and prevents uninstallation of the app.
I already asked HTC support but they only wrote that the system update often cannot be extracted completely and the only way to fix it was to wipe the phone. However, I never received any error message during or after the update and everything else is working perfectly well. Therefore I doubt that it is caused by a failed system update installation.

My Vibrant just crashed with this message, "user fault not kernel panic upload mode". All I was doing was updating a word document using the application FREETHINK which comes with the phone. I pulled the battery out and restarted, and went to do the same thing I was trying to do before the crash and it crashed again.I looked this message up online using "google". There isn't much. People seem to think it has to do with GPS, and it seems like it's a reoccurring problem, which factory reset will not fix. I'm switched back to my Blackberry, incase that it does reoccur. And I will call T-Mobile I guess or maybe try restarting again, and see if it crashes again doing something different other than FREETHINK.Not panicking yet.Anyone else experiencing this problem?I hope it doesn't reoccur,I'll let you know.

I am creating an application which connects to the server using username/password and I would like to enable the option "Save password" so the user wouldn't have to type the password each time the application starts. I was trying to do it with Shared Preferences but am not sure if this is the best solution. I would appreciate any suggestion on how to store user values/settings in Android application.

I am wanting to know if a developer has the ability to choose not to display the permissions needed for an app they create. For an example if there is a note taking app in the market that says no permissions needed, but in reality, it does have "internet access"capabilities not shown to the user/downloader, Is it possible for App permissions to be hidden and not displayed to the user? Can someone explain to me the process on assigning and displaying permissions on android apps?

I have an application that allows the user to "drill-down" into data. At each level of data the user can choose a Tableview item or a Listview item. This will result in a startActivity() call for display of new data.
I can get back to the top (Parent activity) by using the Back button, which can take a while. Is there a way to "POP" back to the Parent activity and dismiss all previously allocated activities, and not have to go back through all the activities previously created?

We want to develop an application blocking feature in our project.
Our application (say application "A") will block the installation of specified app (say malicious application "B"). Then we need to know when the application "B" is in installing process.
Is there any APIs about this, or can some one give me a hint on this?
