View 3 RepliesCan someone tell me the procedure to host an app in Android Market? I know that there is no review process. But is there any other steps I need to follow to publish my App?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know you can get to the android market via the app on your phone and search through them all. There has to be an easier way to review the apps on the web I have looked at adrolib.com and I know of android.com/market where you can see the most popular. What I am wondering, is there a web site that lists all of them that are on the android market on your phone to look at? It would be faster to look at the apps on my computer than using the slower speed of my phone.

View 9 Replies View RelatedEvery time you mention, use, or talk about an app, include its link on AppBrain.
This way, users can see the app, its price, reviews, and so on; in addition, they can install it easily to their EVO.
To link to an app in AppBrain, just open a new browser window/tab here:
AppBrain - the best Android apps and games on the Android market
and use the Search Box in the top of the page. Once the app is found, click on its title to get a unique link for that app.
For example, say I wrote a post about my favorite Twitter client. Well, I'd include a link like this one:
twidroid PRO for twitter - Android app on AppBrain
How does that sound to everyone?
This to all those who are into game development. i want to start on the game development in android, and just as a starter, can anyone suggest me an ebook or a simple procedure oriented blog or some link that'll help me to get things started.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do you get adb shell to work outside of the root procedure?. I successfully rooted my incredible, but I wanted to go back and edit some system files using adb. I have to switch sd cards to get the root process to work, so I don't want to have to open up my phone and switch the card every time I use adb.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSome of you may be intimidated by the new 2.2 rooting instructions. Here's an explanation of what the steps do and why you're doing them. Hopefully, armed with this info, you'll be more confident in proceeding with rooting your phone. See this thread for reference: xda-developers - View Single Post - [GUIDE] How to root Android 2.2 on the EVO 4G
Steps 1-3:
In order to execute the root exploit, you need a tool called "adb." This stands for Android Debugging Bridge, and it is bundled with the Android SDK. The SDK is a package that allows you to write applications for Android, but the only reason we're downloading the SDK is for the adb tool, which is located in a /Tools subfolder in the SDK. The latest HTC Sync is needed because it contains the drivers that allow adb to interface between your PC and your phone. I believe the version of Sync specified will work with windows 7 64-bit. Mac users, scroll down to post 18 in this thread. EarlyMon has the procedure for you.
Step 4:
You need to turn on USB debugging on your phone in order for adb to work. You will be using adb to copy files to your phone and execute linux commands. More on this later.
Step 5:
It is important that your phone is in charge only. If it is in disk drive mode, your phone pretty much locks your sdcard from being written by adb. Make sure you're in charge mode.
Step 6:
Now you have to copy files onto your phone via adb. The "adb push" command basically takes a file on your PC and pushes it to your phone. If you needed a file copied off your phone onto your PC, you'd use adb pull. Easy, right? Let's look at the first copy command:

I have just received my unlock code from T-Mobile. Only problem is their procedure asks me to fit a non T-Mobile simcard as part of the procedure.
Is this the only way I can do it? Must I have a different sim-card to start the unlocking? I don`t have one so bit of a problem.
I want to know what the proper backup procedure is. My Incredible got dust in the screen so VRZ is sending me a refurb phone in the mail.
When I switched over from a ENV touch to a Incredible they were able to restore all my text messages, pics and contacts.
How do I do this with the Incredible?
If I install the latest ROM update from Orange and want to rollback to old version can I do that? If yes what is the procedure?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible is Ver. 2.1 and radio 1, what is the procedure for installing roms? Can I just install any 2.2 rom right away or do I need to find a 2.1 somewhere then upgrade? Sorry, I just don't understand and I've been reading up on this for a few days. I think I understand that the Incredible will release a 2.2 update soon, do I need to wait for that. In my adventures so far, I've been able to pretty much master backing up my phone as I've had to restore it several times now.

I haven't been able to finish the steps and get ROOT to work.
adb shell commands give me "can't find device"
And keep up the awsome work. the original phone I loaded 2.1 leak v.3. Loved it! Replaced/ warranty exchanged due to poor call reception and echo-ing on the other end.
I have read around a bit but I am kinda confused between different phones/versions using metamorph.
Last time I tried it and restarted I got stuck in a bootloop =P. I made a COMPLETE backup so going to give it a try shortly.
As I understand, I download metamorph from the market, move my themes into my sdcard metamorph folder, then basically run metamorph. I think BB.9 has busybox already taken care of.
I don't need to clear/wipe anything or whatnot for this to work correct, right?
I recently got a Hero and spent the last few days lurking hard enough to root, flash Cyanogenmod 6.0 (RC1), uncapped kernel, and collins battery tweak without trouble. Needless to say, this transformed my phone and I'm passionately in love with it
Finally I am reaching out to community for help for the first time. I want to buy a bigger (and faster) SD card, and want to make sure I don't screw anything up. Can I simply insert the new card and format it, or do I need to transfer any specific files, do a wipe of any sort, etc. before switching cards?
My phone isn't rooted yet but I want to do it. I upgraded from 1.5 to 2.1 via the system upgrade that Verizon ousted out to all Eris users a few weeks ago. Here are my questions:
Is OTA = over the air?
Is my 2.1 rom the one that is referred to as 2.1 OTA?
Is there a well documented procedure out there for rooting my version 2.1 rom phone?
Does anyone have a procedure for installing sprecovery/nandroid on a rooted droid x?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've got a new phone, and both it and my old one show up on Google Play, with the tabs showing the respective apps installed. The old one is rooted, and I want to let my son use it on his own GMail ID. I've no problem resetting it or loading a completely new ROM.
Is there a proper procedure for dissociating it from my GMail ID and adding it to his. I have a suspicion that if I just change the associated email address in the Google Play settings on the phone, it will still appear on my list of devices.
Is there an ap or ICS procedure to push files via wifi to a networked PC. All the FTP type aps PULL files from the phone to the PC? I want something I can initiate on the phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI deleted a few system apps (all the social stuff, corp directory, email, etc). In a thread on DroidXForums (this one on the unrooting procedure) someone mentioned that they could not get the .604 update without some of the bloatware. Of course, this freaked me out a bit as I would certainly like to get Froyo when it comes out. So, I went about trying to reinstall the stuff I'd uninstalled. The system dump with all the default apps is here, and below is the procedure to get what you're missing reinstalled and visible as system apps. I used Root Manager but the same procedure should work for Root Explorer. If you prefer ADB I'm sure one of the more competent terminalists here.
-Place the apk(s) of the apps on your sdcard.
-Use your chosen means to copy the apk(s) to /system/app (this will require making /system/app writable. In Root Manager just press the R/W key when you're exploring /system/app).
-You now need to change the app's permissions. In Root Manager, long press on the app (in /system/app) and click on "permissions". Then make sure that only the following boxes are clicked: User Read, User Write, Group Read, Others Read.
-Make sure you make /system/app read only again by clicking that box in the top right while you're exploring the folder.
-Reboot phone.
Now the apps should be loaded and the system should recognize them as system apps (you can verify by opening Titanium and noticing they're in red). This should make you good to go for whatever OTA comes. If you're unsure which apks in the system dump correspond to the apps you've deleted, just explore your /system/app and compare it to the system dump app list. Any apks in the dump but not in yours are what you're looking for.
I've seen a lot of people mentioning some sites in passing, but to be frank they are underwhelming and/or not content rich. I'm looking for a much more comprehensive app review website.
View 23 Replies View RelatedWe are looking for a few people to post one or two or however many they want application reviews. Basically all we ask is that you review an application in the same way that we do and in return you can place a link to your blog, website, forum etc (as long as its appropriate or linked to a competing application reviewing site). You can review any application as long as your not bias and own the application. We get thousands of visitors and so it is good exposure for you and your website.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am developing an Android application for a customer. I want to be able to provide them (no one else) incremental updates but I am not clear what the procedure should be.I don't want them to have to install development tools or root their phone. These are non technical folks who would have no idea how to accomplish root a phone or use a command line interface. When I develop iPhone applications for them this was easy. They just give me the device UDID and I send them a binary that can be drag and dropped into iTunes. How is this done on Android. I have tried loading the application from a web server but the devices says it is not allowed to be loaded because of security reasons. In setting->Applications there is no menu option to "Allow Unknown sources".
