I go there and goto buy an app and it asks me to log in to google. No problem, except I log into the account already joined to the device and it just keeps going back and saying "add google account". Yes, tht account is setup on google checkout.

I am going to T-Mobile tomorrow to get a new plan and I don't know what phone to get. I was considering the HTC HD2 but I don't know if I want to deal with WinMo. What would you say is the best Android phone in their lineup? I don't have a choice but this is all I can get, but price isn't an option.I'm looking forward to your thoughts.

When I run any application from Eclipse on my real G1 device (a retail one, this is not a dev phone), I am granted the READ_PHONE_STATE and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE even if i don't declare them in the AndroidManisfest.xml. I actually can call TelephonyManager.getDeviceID () to retrieve the IMEI and I see these permissions in Settings -> Applications. I don't have this behavior in the emulator. Does anyone have the same "problem"?

I just wondered which frequency is OK to send whitespace keep alive packets onto a TCP connection to keep it alive on a T-Mobile 3G connectivity (the use case is to maintain an idle XMPP session alive). On SFR in France, we are disconnected if idle for 3 minutes, but I guess T-Mobile's timeout is lower. By the way there is a bug in the Smack library, the "keep alive" setting is not enforced, e.g. if you set it to 30s, in the worst case the whitespace will not be sent until the double of this time (60s).

Often while using Google Maps, it takes a while to load the maps. I was wondering if it was possible to download these maps to my SD card for faster loading.

I have searched, but cannot seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. I bought the phone unlocked so I'm not held down to their plans, so what do I choose? I want 750-1000 minutes I'd think ( I use around 800 now ) , have to hve unlimited everything else. Currently I have a Tmobile Sidekick LX with 1000 minutes, and unlimited everything and its 69.99 per month.

I own HTC Desire which has a built-in GPS. It's a really great option, but what really annoys me is this: when I use GPS, my data connection must also be enabled in order to refresh Google Maps. And since data packets in Croatia are still pretty expensive, this is not a option for me. Anyway, the question is: is there a way to fully download Maps to your SD Card without having data connection enabled, but GPS only?
So, just like with standard GPS devices.

I'm writing a software that checks events in user's calendars and does some manipulations over them. But I would like to touch only those events which are present in synced calendars only. I'm using Google Calendar API, but don't know how to list only synced calendars and ignore others.

I have a Google I/O phone which came with the original 2 GB micro SD card. I would like to get a larger capacity card and while shopping for it I noticed that some of them are just micro SD and some are micro SDHC. The user manual I downloaded from the HTC website has not specification on the type of SD card that are supported. Can someone tell me if the phone I have works with both types or can I only use micro SD card?

1. Make sure all of your contacts from your current phone are synced up with Outlook.
2. Goto File
3. Import and Export
4. Select "Export to a file" and Click Next
5. Select "Comma Seperated Values (Windows)" and click Next
6. Select Contacts and click Next
7. Choose a destination for the file to be saved and click next
8. Click Finished
If you have excel or a spreadsheet program, go ahead and open the file. In the last name field make sure that each person either has a last name or has some letter in the field or they will not import correctly. They will just end up showing up with a phone number w/o a name. After doing this, resave the file........

Has anyone tried the cancellation method for getting an alternate android phone from tmobile?(you know, when you say, I'm sooo upset with my phone that I'm going to cancel my phone service, and they say "Is there anything we can do to make it better" and we say, "Yes, get me another android phone", and they say, "OK")

I am trying to post data to the Blob Store on google's app engine, this code runs without throwing any exceptions, but on the blobstore end there is no log on the post request at all. The server side stuff works when i post using a form (albeit with mime data). I have allowed my android app to use internet. This is a stab in the dark but if any of you folks might have had an issue like this before perhaps the problem i am having might ring a bell

I extracted com.google.android.map.jar and com.google.android.map.xml and Map.apk files from the another development device which has google maps in it. I started with following procedure..
1. adb -d shell
2. # mount -o rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system mount -o rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system mount: Device or resource busy. I can't copy the above files to the /system/framework/ , /system/etc/ permissions/ , and /system/app to these directories.
C:>adb -d push C:GoogleMAPSMaps.apk /system/framework/ failed to copy 'C:GoogleMAPSMaps.apk' to '/system/framework// Maps.apk': Read-only file system
Is there any way to change the system image to Read write mode?

When I kill any Google app, even the built in ones, android.process.acore doesn't crash causing a cascade effect of wonderfulness that is a black Launcher screen sometimes. So it can't be related to being integrated into Google Authentications or something. So, why the heck does myFaves do this? According to it's package info it's process should be com.tmobile.myfaves.

my g2/hero is currently rooted i did this as i couldnt wait for tmobile to release the latest rom update as ive been trying to fix my signal issues, 2 bar is the norm 3 bars is rare and 4 bars well that would be a miracle as in the 2 months of ownership ive only had 4 bars once. but my question is even though my hero is rooted is it ok to use either the new tmobile rom or the latest htc rom on a rooted hero as at the moment im using the macado rom (excuse the spelling) i thought this might of help my signal but it has remained the same. so i thought id give the htc or tmoble rom a try but i dnt want to unroot my hero as i like being able to have my apps on the sd card.
