How to create a tone lets say 10khz / 5 secs. something like that,, just play a individual created sound, not playing a mpg or so?
The reason I'm posting this question is because I cannot make a notification to reproduce a sound or a vibration sequence. For the case of the vibration I have permissions properly set and logcat do not show log message indicating a problem. For the case of sound, I have an mp3 saved in the res/raw folder and I always got an error saying: error loading sound in logcat. I add an snipped with the code Im using. Probably anyone can let me know if I am making a newbie mistake.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola Droid and I would like to find a way to get my phone to vibrate when I get a new text message while I have the sounds off. I have my phone set to vibrate mode but it only vibrates when I get an incoming call. Verizon said this was normal but there might be an application to change alert settings and such.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm a long-time PalmOS user (Centro being my last device, but have given up the habit to jump to Android. Anyway, I have a few questions about my Desire (sorry if any of these have already been asked 100s of times!):
1 I've activated the security lock (where you join some dots to unlock it). Is there a way to delay the lock activating? If I put my phone down for >1 minute and go straight back to it, I really shouldn't need to go though security, whereas if the phone has been inactive for, say 15 minutes, then going through security makes sense. Is there a way to delay the lock?
2 Is there a way to make the screen stay on when it is charging?
3 Is there a way of cut and pasting from a gmail?
4 Is there a way to make a calendar alarm sound periodically, x number of times?
Am I the only one with this problem?
When I listen to my voicemails (using the stock voicemail app) the sound quality is absolutely atrocious. I have to turn the volume all the way up and it is still very hard to hear and the overall quality is extremely bad.
I just find this so odd since the call quality during normal calls is perfectly fine.
I downloaded the "Tone Picker" app to use my mp3's as a message tone and once I selected a tune my x10 no longer plays anything when I receive a msg. I uninstalled the app, switched the phone off but it still doesn't make a sound when a new msg comes through.Does anyone know a way to fix this without me having to reset to manufacturer settings?

I normally keep my phones on vibrate in order to be discreet of any incoming calls or notifications at work. However, when I am talking on the phone and I get a text, the phone vibrates. Is there a way to make the phone just beep or play a sound instead of vibrating. I must admit, it can freak you having the phone buzz in your ear.
Mine feels a little loose, and it make a rattle sound, am i the only one with this? its like the plastic isnt tight or something, but when you press it its nice and firm to "click" up or down.
also the bottom of the screen/whole left side where the KB is kind of dips down about a hundreth or tenth of an inch wen you press something on the screen on that side, im guessing thats normal for a slider.
so this is really starting to piss me off, there's a whole list of things that piss me off about this ROM.
It will randomly restart Text Notifications NEVER make sound no matter what i do. Home button does not work, neither does the search button.
I've tried rebooting, re flashing, downloading other things. Still to no avail. A little help please?
I tried using home switcher to make calls but the same problem occurs. I can make a call, If I try to make a call after, the phone will lag on dialing then if it does connect I can't hear. If I receive a call it will answer but no sound. This happened after 2.1. I even did a factory reset and followed the upgrading instructions, everything else is fine except for this.
View 11 Replies View RelatedIs there an application (or one in the works) that will allow us to apply a sound effect to the slider opening and closing? Maybe base it off of when the screen rotates + keyboard lights up? I would love to apply 2 seperate notifications. One for open and one for close. Anyone got an application like this in the works or know of one that would work on Samsung Moment? I know there is a notification for when you unplug the power, but I'd love to have 2 seperate from that for JUST the slider. I can't believe we can't modify seperate notification sounds custom without apps.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently an iPhone 4s user and really like the way that the switch toggles between no sound (vibrate) and sound. I leave me phone in vibrate mode for most of the day and in the evening I tend to switch it to sound so I can hear the alerts from around my house when I don't have the phone with me. I am thinking about switching to an android device (S4 or HTC One) and have a few friends that haven't been able to duplicate the behavior of the iPhone. They get sound with vibration or some other weird combinations that wont work for me. Is this a limitation of the OS or is it device specific? I basically want everything to vibrate (Ringer, SMS, Email) with the option of changing everything to sound, no combinations of the two. I also need to distinguish between types of messages by using different vibration patterns.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. Seems like a nice phone. Every phone I've had in the past (Nokia, Sony, etc...) has always allowed me to hide my number so that the call display on the receiver's phone shows my call as 'private'. This is useful for when you don't want certain people to have your number when you call. Is there a way to do this on the Galaxy S? I couldn't seem to find any setting how.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just picked up a Droid, after having blackberries for years. One thing I noticed about the droid is the lack of sound profiles. I basically had two profiles I would use on my blackberry and after downloading the app ' simple sound profile widget' I still cannot manage to get the two profiles I used on my blackberry. Here is the settings I would like to achieve:
Profile 1: vibrate only for sms/mms messages and phone calls (all other notifications silent)
Profile 2: Silence everything except alarm clock.
I think the main problem is that i cannot figure out how to separate out texts from all other notifications (emails, etc.)Any help would be appreciated. I kept hearing about how customizable droids were so I just assumed this would be doable.
