I am trying to downgrade Android developer phone 1's firmware version from 1.6. to 1.5 by following this link.

Here I have completed till steps #7 of Update the Device Radio Firmware. While in steps 8. It start to load update.zip file. It analyze the update.zip file. and at last it shows that update Aborted. I have followed exact all steps mentioned in that list.

This is my first post and I am new to Android so excuse my ignorance if this is well documented and common knowledge. I have a stock ADP, firmware 1.0, no updates no mods and of course I want to get the latest features such as voice control, latitude etc, and so begins the fun. Why is there nothing official that can be easily found which states what is going on for people that own the ADP? I must have read dozens of articles showing update procedures and claiming to have leaked OFFICIAL developer updates and only recently did i find 2 thread that eventually end with something stating there is NO official update for developer phones yet.
I have 2 gripes about this:
1. Why no official and clear statement from the development team to clarify this before people start scrambling desperately to install leaked versions that are false? (I know I almost did) 2. Why as a developer do I have to wait for features that are already available to end users?
How do I downgrade Lg eve to a lower version? I want to follow this guide: Installation | OpenEtna but it says i need to downgrade.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI experienced no problems with the installed firmware (versjon 14) with my X10, but I read on a forum that some people had gotten their device a bit faster and smoother after installing the update that is available (version 16). I installed the update and now I regret and wish I never would have done it.
Now I have the problem with the "a" butten. When I hit the "a" button, I just get that the button was pushed and nothing happens in the textfield, so I have to push the "a" button twice to get something.
I couldn't find my wireless internett that was turned on, and in some of the programs when I write, nothing shows up in the textfield, but I can see that the text registered by the device because I can see the wordexamples coming up as I write. I wonder if there is a way to downgrade to the preinstalled firmware?
If I upgrade the firmware to Froyo 2.2, can I downgrade again if I find it too buggy like others have?

The reason is that some testing is needed on these devices and only with official firmwares it would be valid. And at will it would be nice to be able to switch versions for different test purposes.

Currently my application works on 1.6 and greater, but uses some API function calls not supported in 1.5. How many devices on the market are restricted to 1.5? Is there a list of the latest firmware versions supported by all the available devices? I'm trying to see if it's worth my time to make my application work for 1.5, or if it won't really affect anyone.

When I found out that it was, I removed the number from the app listing. I don't have the resources to handle phone support, and much prefer to handle support via email. Besides, there is no requirement that we provide phone support, as long as we provide support in some way, correct? Anyway, these days I'm getting fewer phone calls, but I'm still getting calls. We are required to list a phone number in our developer profile, but it is stated that this is used for Google to contact us directly in case there are issues. So where are users still getting my phone number, and how can I make sure it's not listed?

I was wondering if their is a way to set up the apn or bypass it to use the phones built in wifi. Just wanna start testing my code and can't seem to get it working without having an actual service provided by AT&T.
Basic question is: Can I use the Dev phone with a sim card, implying that the sim card has no actual service.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi have a samsung galaxy S3 with t-mobile. i recently updated to jelly bean 4.1.2 and disliked the new gallery and a couple of other new functions so i decided to downgrade. i dl odin v. 1.85 and jelly bean 4.1.1 and started the process. it failed and when i reboot my phone the triangle warning about putting it in kies emergency recovery mode pops up whenever i turn it on regularly. i can go into the downloading menu so i know its not bricked or completely ruined but i don't know what to do from here. i did follow the phone instructions and dl kies and try getting into emergency recovery mode but it wont recognize my phone. i tried another Samsung phone and it picked it up right away.

I know you can get a developer phone but the new G2 looks pretty nice as well as the Samsung around the corner. I would assume however that it would be a better idea to be using a consumer phone if they are the target market for apps you wish to produce, especially for testing purposes. Has anyone else had experience from this choice and provide any further illumination to the issue?
