My mother is having this random problem where her web browser closes, sends her back to the Google search page. It seems to only happen when she has some tabs open. Note that it does not force close it just crashes. She is very disappointed and would like to know the solution. My evo sometimes send me to the home screen but does not close.

I have a Driod Ally that is less than 2 months old.
This is the problem I am experiencing: Whenever I open an email from my second account, the Corporate Email account, the email I'm reading won't stay open. Sometimes the email closes immediately, sometimes it closes after a minute, but it always closes. I don't have time to read it, let alone reply to it. Also, if I'm in the inbox, it will close and goes back to the Home screen. All of this happens randomly.
My Gmail account has no problem staying open. In fact, none of my other apps share this problem, it only happens to my corporate email account which happens to be the most important aspect of the phone.
I tried nuking the account and re-establishing it- to no avail.
I have installed Dolphin and like it, and I've made it my default browser, which is great. However, it is not only the system default, but it even opens links I click on in the Android provided browser (sometimes I both open). On your computer, when you click links in your non-default browser it doesn't send the links to the default one, and it shouldn't on this OS, either. Any ideas how to keep Dolphin as my system default browser, but not have it open links I click on in the Android web browser?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used Handcent for a while and I really liked it, however you can't send MMS using it for whatever reason which is a big deal breaker for me.I uninstalled it and went back to the original messaging application, but now it just closes randomly.Like I'll open it and it will close instantly. Then I open it again and it works fine.Other times it will open fine, but then I'll try to open up an conversation and it closes automatically, then when I open it again everything works fine.It is very annoying. It just closes out to the home screen. I've deleted all my existing messages and I've tried resetting my phone, nothing seems to help.

Her brand new, out of the box DX forced closed within an hour of starting it up. It had done it a few times, when we swapped batteries. Now, mine (with her battery) just forced closed (mine hadn't done it previously).

I found this video on youtube and someone is having the same problem I'm having. Also whenever I plug the phone into the ac adapter to charge it, the memory card becomes unavailable as if the phone thinks I'm using usb to pc.

It just closes down to where ever I was before the Internet was launched, w/o a "force close" message box. This has happened across many diff ROMs, many diff browsers, and many diff kernels. Hell, it's been happening since at least 2.1 and perhaps 2.0.1. I've tried clearing caches, wifi, lowering the kernel MHz, yet the issues still persist. Sometimes it happens instantaneously upon opening, sometimes it waits till I'm enjoying surfing away from my pc.

View 18 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend just received her Droid 2 the other day and I have been helping her set it up. There was an available update so I had it installed. Now every time we try to use a browser, any browser, it opens for a second and then it closes to the Home screen right away. No force close, no error message, just poof and it's gone. I didn't install many apps to it like my Captivate because I figured less is more for her. She added her facebook and MySpace accounts but that's about it really.
I looked all over the past few hours and found similar issues but none quite the same. I cleared the cache, cleared the data, nothing. 3G or WiFi made no difference. I tried with the stock browser, Skyfire, Dolphin, and xScope and same results across the board. I turned all location settings off and back on and back off again to no avail. I just did a factory reset 15 minutes ago and nothing has changed. I am going to do it again without allowing the Backup Assistant to do anything. I'll make a fresh google account to see if there's a difference there but I don't think it will work. It's not rooted or anything, it's pretty much fresh out of the box from only 3 days ago.
Does anyone know how to set the Opera Mini Browser as a default web browser instead of the Stock android?

View 13 Replies View RelatedMaybe its just my phone acting "special" but if I open the browser and allow Google to find my location (its my home page) then the browser will close while trying to find where I am.
If I stop it before it gets to that part and open a different page or just decline the website's ability to find my location then it will stay up and running without further issue.
Anyone else seeing this? Any suggestions? I've cleared all cache, cookies, etc etc. Maps works fine and finds my exact location so I'm just kinda uuhhhh not sure
I am developing an app in which I am making a browser type app. Now as user try to open an URL in default browser, an intent resolver is come and ask user complete action using default browser or custom browser. This part of my app is completed. Now I want to ask if I choose to open the link in my custom browser how could I access that URL link. However I like to have the stock browser still be my profile. So what I've done is set up Dolphin to have my work's profile. What I'd like to do is set up a short cut to a bookmark in Dolphin to open in dolphin. Anytime I've set up a shortcut to the URL on the screen it opens up in the stock browser - any way to make a specific shortcut to open a URL in an application of my choosing? I don't know enough of Linux/Android to try and edit some changes. My phone is a Magic (MyTouch3g for you americans) and is running 1.5 with SenseUI and is non-rooted.

But at times I want to use the Stock Browser, I'll just open up "Internet" but when I get there and click on a link from within the Stock Browser, it'll open it up and move me to Dolphin. I pretty much want to say "Hey, if I open up the Stock Browser, I want to use it but otherwise use Dolphin for everything else".
