HTC Hero :: Connect Laptop For Internet

Using the HTC Hero as a USB Modem | Brightpoint GB Tech Blog But it doesn't work, as soon as i select enable mobile network sharing, it just says its installing drivers, then it says it can't install the Android Phone.
This is the information with the error: Description: Windows detected a new device attached to your computer, but could not find the driver software it needs to make the device usable. Each device manufacturer typically includes driver software of a CD that comes with the device, or as a download from its website. The hardware ID of your device is USBVID_0BB4&PID_0FFE&REV_0100.

I followed the above instructions and was able to connect and syc no problem, but I am unable to connect to the internet with the lap top and getting an Error message on the phone Data Call Failure Error Code 67. egistration failure. Press (OK) for options. Your PCS Vision username and password may be incorrect. Please try again.

NEED HELP CONNECTING MY DELL 1720 TO THE INTERNET. IVE TRIED PDANET AND EASY TETHER AND NO LUCK.IT SAYS IM CONNECTED BUT HAVE NO INTEENET,CONNECTION. Try to get internet sharing up on my rickety old laptop that I use only for this purpose, its running windows 2000 and I am trying to install HTC_Sync_2.0.33. Keep getting the error message :
The operating system is not adequate for running HTC Sync.
My laptop is older but the specs are above the requirements, and according to the download info from HTC, I should be workable.

I use my laptop to go on the internet via my HTC Hero. But it doesn't seem to be very stable, I have a good connection with a H and 3 bars. But it seems to drop the connection for no reason, my previous phone a sony ericsson would just stay connected all the time, this drops it when it likes, could be 2 min, to 2 hours before i have to reconnect then disconnect then connect.

I bluetooth'd my Hero to my laptop and here's more info on it.
1. The speakers on the laptop serve as a wireless speaker system when you make or receive a call.
2. The speakers also play music from your Hero.
3. Transfer files to and from the Hero
4. Send a fax
5. Tether!
6. PIM sync (hello WinMo users!)
7. Wireless printing
I've performed all of these functions without a hitch. So the Hero looks as if it's a better phone than anticipated... at least for me anyway.

A friend of mine has just bought one, and cannot connect to the internet using his SIM card at all. He can receive calls fine but for some reason the mobile internet does not work even though his SIM is enabled for it. His phone does not have Market, but SlideMe, which suggests it is a Malaysian Hero (I think)? I don't know if this is the reason.
I tried my SIM card in his Hero and, again, it will not connect to mobile internet. I checked the settings and under Mobile Network Settings/Access Point Names there is nothing and none of the fields are completed (I never had to set this up on my Hero, it was automatically completed by my SIM Card/Provider once switched on).

I'm having a problem with my internet connection on my SGS. It used to lock to T-m*bile, I unlocked it lastweek then use L*bara instead cause got free internet service hehe. somehow, everytime i try to use internet service it says unable to connect to internet/ network unavailable. but I tried the simcard with another phone and it was working. some friends suggest me to re-unlock it. but i donno how to re-unlock it.

My hotspot is all set up. I turn it on and I can see it from my laptop. I connect the laptop and EVO says there is 1 connection. But, the laptop connection gets no Internet access. I've tried it with and without security set up. I've rebooted. I even took the battery out and let it rest. (All of that cleared out the Error 67 on the phone but still the laptop sees no Internet.) Internet on the phone is great - even got 4G, but. What in the heck am I doing wrong? How can I get Internet access for the laptop?

I own an HTC Magic and am about to go travelling around my country.
I have the 3g connection on the magic and want to know if I can share it somehow to my laptop using a wireless network or the usb data cable. I would love to be able to surf the net on my laptop using the phone as the modem!

When I connect my phone via USB to my laptop or my desktop using any of the USB ports, my phone blacks out, goes to an Android start graphic, briefly shows the home view then blacks out over and over. It does charge albiet slowly. I turn the phone off so it will charge fully. In addition I get an alert from Windows "USB Device Not Recognized". Works fine when not connected via USB.

Update- Well I got the PC to connect to the phone by updating the HTC sync driver but I still can't use the phone when it is plugged in to the USB. Screen goes dark and none of the buttons function and the charge light is lit.

I have tried to connect my phone to my laptop and cant get it to work. Yes, I am using the original cable that came with my phone. I have the samsung drivers on there that I used to root. Could that be it? I have windows 7 I have turned on and off debugging, didnt work. It shows in my computer that I have "samsung android" but wont open or anything? my moment connects just fine to my pc running xp. same OS on laptop and when i plug in i get a tone, select "mount" on phone. the phone thinks its connected but nothing on laptop (not recognized). device manager says its working properly, could this be affected by admin which i am not? any help is awesome.
