1 From what I have read, I will have to unroot phone back to stock to get VZW 2.2 OTA. What will happen if I don't?
2 If I do the leaked OTA 2.2 with radio update and the radio file is different with VZW2.2 will phone brick??

Samsung Behold 2 :: Upcoming Software Changes
Feb 15, 2010Take this for what it's worth since you're hearing it from me, and not an official link. I understand I could be completely making this up, but I only come here to hopefully give you, my fellow BH2 owners out there something to look forward to. While in TMobile today, I was chatting with the manager who helped me decide on the BH2. It just so happened that his Samsung rep had just left and gave him some good news.
Originally, I thought he had told me the BH2 would be going from 1.5 to 2.x, however, the BH2 has two upcoming changes.
First, we will be getting a minor change to fix the battery issues. The battery indicator will be more accurate, and they will be adjusting some software issues to increase the battery life. Great news. This should be very soon since the reps recently got the email.
Second, and no later than two months away, we will be getting 1.6. Not 2.0 or 2.1. 1.6 is apparently the most stable Android software out there at the moment, which is why 2.1 is still a ways out. Don't expect to ever see 2.0 on your BH2 because 2.0 is terrible software and Tmobile has no intentions of pushing that on their phones. 2.1 will most likely come after 1.6.
This is according to a Samsung rep who received an email from his superiors. Take it for what it's worth, but I am looking forward to the BH2 future. Now BH2 owners will have the best Android phone with stable software. Can't wait!

Feb 2, 2013I have a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx with an unlimited data plan and I use FoxFi all the time and love it. On FoxFi's (now PDANet) site it states that Android version 4.1 and later is NOT SUPPORTED on Motorola. Their recommendation is "Do not update to Jelly Bean." I understand that this update is going to be pushed to us sometime soon. In the past, my updates have installed automatically without any approval required. I cannot find a setting anywhere to make it stop and ask first. Is there such a setting? Is there a way I can refuse to accept the Jelly Bean upgrade?

Apr 20, 2009I need to run several emulator instances to test my application. When i try to run instances using emulator -data <path> option, the emulator crashes.
I got a MS Visual Studio window informing that emulator throws a "unhandled win32 exception".
The exception message in the debugger (MS Visual Studio 2008) is: "Unhandled exception at 0x77c4706c in emulator.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x03216848"
The emulator runs normally without "-data" option.

If I make even a simple change to the layout, it takes about 30 seconds by time I run it in Eclipse and Android "boots", and I can unlock the emulator to run the application. Mar 16, 2010I downloaded the most recent version of Android for linux (android-sdk_r05-linux_86.tgz). I was trying to use the the Android Ant task(s) for packaging, building, and deploying my code. I should mention that I'm running AMD64, but have the 32-bit libraries installed. The Android Ant tasks are all broken.
First, the start-emulator task never gets the emulator running. It does get past starting adb, but then just sits there.
Second, the SDK is missing the aapt binary in the tools directory. So, the example notepad sample application will not even package correctly.
I have all the dependencies configured for Android. I can run it from the command line just fine.I assume the Ant code is out of sync with the recent SDK updates. Can anyone shed some light on this problem? At this point, I'm considering writing my own Python scripts to interact with the Android SDK. Ugh.

Jul 26, 2010Today i changed around a couple of my widgets,from orangeworld to android market as it happens but i dont think this is relevant to my problem.Anyhow i now have a white box that appears when i unlock that says "no upcoming calendar events" i want to get rid of this as it moves my wallpaper across the screen so you can only see half of it.I have tried putting in an event then deleting it & the usual switching on & off etc.Any answers are very welcome as this is driving me nuts!
