Why are all the youtube videos blurry? I've only had my moto droid for a week but I've looked at a bunch of youtube videos and they are all blurry. Am I doing something wrong?

Most of the time when I click on a link to a YouTube clip it takes me to the YouTube web page where it tells me I need to have flash installed. I'm pretty sure once I clicked a link and it gave me the option to open it in a browser or the YouTube app, but now I'm no longer getting that option. Is there a way to make YouTube videos open in the app everytime?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a HTC magic a couple of months ago and have had nothing but problems, first i discovered it wouldnt play youtube clips, it just comes up "this video cannot be played" for every clip.
HTC told me to update the ROM but my phone wouldnt detect HTC sync on my laptop (winxp) eventually they told me to force it into boot mode which worked and I've updated the ROM, but it still isnt playing youtube clips and I've trawled every android site I could find for a solution. But I did find alot of other people with android phones and the same problem.
I talked to HTC and they have apprently (after trying to solve this issue for at least a month and a half) reffered it to their head tech office in Thailand (Thailand? *shrug*) and they're working in conjunction with techs here in Australia and USA to figure out what the problem is, they say they will call me when they have a solution, when they do I'll post it here for all the others that have this same problem.
Also, has anyone else had the prob that after the ROM update, app's like 'rings extended' wont work, I've tried several app's like it and none work, just comes up 'rings extended could not be launched'. and in android systems it says there is no defaults set. I'm at a loss.
I read that the youtube app is 'broke' and tried going to youtube by browser which also wouldn't play the video..
This made me think i was missing some sort of codec so i started converting mp4s on my computer and found that only converting to [H.264.MP4] works for my samsung.
So im wondering if theres some sort of codec i need to install on my phone like flash/divx/ k-lite codec pack to be able to watch youtube videos?
How do I change a "permanent" setting I selected, where I inadvertently chose playing my youtube videos via the web browser, rather than via the YouTube app? (I'd rather it do so through the app).

I keep getting the WARNING - Message size limit reached.Some of these clips were between 10-20 seconds long.I dont think it's the camcorder settings af i have reset to default.I can attach them in an Email no problem.

Ex: got mms with pic, long pressed and saved. Went to album, selected pic, pressed menu button, set as, then chose contact. I figured that was a standard way of doing it and it worked. Except thay when i get a call from contact the picture looks pixelated and blurry. But all other pics not set as contact loom AMAZING. Any help? Do I also need to wait for that Google update talked about in a previous thread about the motorola droid? Another quick question.......my keyboard is lagging super hard while typing (only on this site btw) is there too much going on.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am doing a video based course, and what is infuriating about playing video on my Android is that you have to watch each segment (up to 40 minutes) in one go, as the next time you play the clip it will restart and fast forward does not work (it forwards for less than a second and then jerks back). What would be really handy would be if I could put a bookmark every time I have to stop the video file (such as when I have to get off my train), and return to the same place the next time I open it. Is there any app that can do this? I will pay for one that works.

There is a global theme for the app and applying this theme caused the drop down background of the MultiAutoCompleteTextView changed to white and text color is also white. To over come this problem I did the following to change the background of the drop down to black.The background of drop down is changed, but now when scrolling up and down , the items in drop down becomes blurry.

I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been developing on a ADP2 (Google Ion) with a "standard" screen size (with a resolution of 320x480)... Our designer made some pretty neat Images with which to create the GUI, and when placing everything within the layout XML files it looks pretty good... That is, on the Eclipse renderer, the one who shows you how it will look like on the device... Thus not the emulator itself... Unfortunately when run on the real device the supercrisp and beatifull images become blurry and unsharp... I actually do'nt see why this should happen ? Everything has been designed whilst keeping the target devices resolution into account... Is this because most probably the dpi of the screen on which the Images were (big 24 inch screen) is different that the devices? And if so how can this be corrected (maybe within the designers application as well, I think he uses Photoshop).
View 2 Replies View RelatedA bunch of turkeys came wandering in my back yard a few min ago, and I grabbed my evo to snap a few pics. They all turned out hazy. Focus was fine, but the pics just looked really bad, like looking through dirty glass. Turns out, a bit of fingerprint was on the camera lens. I wiped it down on my shirt and the pics became much clearer. Seems like common sense, right? Anyhow, just throwing it out there. I'm probably going to forget to do this next time.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm at home, my WiFi speed is typically almost 3m DOWN and 700k UP. (Lame compared to my speeds at work) While my 3G is typically about HALF of those speeds. But here's where my confusion sets in. When I watch a YouTube video with the stock YouTube app, videos buffer faster and/or play MUCH better when using 3G. I'm wondering if the 3G connection is utilizing some kind of compression that allows this?

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I been taking pics with my EPIC 4G and I thought it was supposed to be one of the best on the market. Well I have to take a few pics to try to get a decent pic. Most come out blurry to slightly blurry. My old Sony Erickson took better pics with lil fuss. Is there something that I'm doing wrong? Am I supposed to tap it and wait for it to focus before taking a pic? Even with that it comes out a lil blurry.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have read a few threads, but they aren't saying the evo4g is having this problem. but mine is. i imported my contacts from my outlook and all the images are coming up blurry when i receive calls and make them. also, a lot of the images on my contacts aren't even showing up on the phone, but i see them in the outlook actually it looks like the Vermeer images i was using when i had my iphone aren't loading, but regular images are. anyways, for the regular images from the outlook sync to the phone, is there a way to get them clearer?

On my 1st Hero with Orange they were perfectly clear however I now have 1 with T-mobile and the contact pictures are very blurry, almost unrecognisable. Anyone know why this would happen and how to fix it? It is the exact same pics from the same memory card that I used on the 1st phone, I just swapped it over to the new 1 when it arrived I should add that when I say contact pics, its only when m calling some1 and their face fills the screen that this happens

View 25 Replies View RelatedRecently received my Incredible (FINALLY!). I synced my contacts from my old phone (Omnia i910) with google so I could download them onto the Inc. When I did, I also synced up some contacts with Facebook. But, it looks like several of the contact pics are blurry / pixelated. Some of them are the Facebook ones, while others are the Google synced ones. Anyone know how to fix this?
