How do I change a "permanent" setting I selected, where I inadvertently chose playing my youtube videos via the web browser, rather than via the YouTube app? (I'd rather it do so through the app).

My question is this: is it possible to accidently tether the lg eve to a desktop pc, when trying to connect via USB cable. For example, I connect my lg eve to a desktop pc, and tried to transfer some jpgs off it. In doing so, by connect the cable, could I accidently tether the PC to this?I think the answer would be no. :-) I never tried setting up tethering before, but am only asking because I am traveling out of country and did not want to risk this PC using my LG EVE as a modem by accident.I thought I read somewhere that LG EVE does not support tethering, but also think I read some conflicting details elsewhere, saying it was possible.Any how, trying to avoid more nasty roaming charges. I doubt this will be an issue for me, but figured I'd ask.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFormatted my SD card yesterday and was cleaning up the internal memory of music as well since I was having issues with duplicate playlists etc. Just recieved a call today and noticed it wasn't my normal ringtone. I go to contacts(any of them) and see there is only one option for a ringtone. So unless there is a virus on my phone, I've accidently deleted my stock ringtones. Anyway to get the rintone folder back on the phone short of doing a complete reinstall of the OS? Take it back. My ringtones are still on the phone on the internal memory. I can play them fine in Mixzing/stock player, but are not showing up when I click on contacts/ringtone etc..

Your phone has an internal cache where it stores this information. Sometimes this cache gets out of sync. You can delete this cache by looking for an application called "Media Store" (or similar) in "Settings->Applications->Manage Applications". You may have to press the menu button and change the filter to show all applications. Once you find "Media Store", open its options page and select "Clear Data". Then reboot the phone to force the cache to be rebuilt. Also, try searching your storage for *.m3u files, delete any of these files that are not in the "syncr" directory.

However, on my home page there is (WAS) a text messaging icon, a voicemail icon, a browser icon, and then a market icon. Somehow a second text messaging icon showed up. So there was my normal original text message icon, and then a larger one above it. So I tried deleting one of them, it would not work, so i tried the other one, did not work. Then I turned off my phone and turned it back on and now they are both gone. I tried hitting menu, then add, then motorola widgets and then messages, but the only option for a text messaging icon is the red message icon, i was the actual text message icon, HOW DO I GET IT!!?? It's bugging me very badly.

Does anyone who has been with Sprint a longish time remember those "Samsung Instinct versus iPhone 3G" videos that Sprint put out? It showed the Instinct side by side with an iPhone performing tasks: GPS, spoken navigation, SMS, MMS, etc. Each time, the Instinct did it better.

Is there anyway for the phone to remember my password, so that when it tries to connect to the WiFi, it will NOT ask me to enter the password. It is a hexadecimal number and it is frustrating me when I have to enter it every few minutes when the phone finds a different network, then wants to switch back to mine.

For example, if I email an address thats not in my contacts, the next time I try to email that address I have to type out the entire address again, whereas with my iPhone or BB it would remember my sent addresses and I could just select them, even if they werent in my contacts.
Also I see no option to never delete from server. If I download email from my POP account onto my phone, will I still be able to get that on my PC when I get to my office? If I delete it as well?

A few minutes later i decided to take another pic and the flash went off and scared the crap out of a few people.
I prolly killed the camera app inbetween taking pics with an app killer, but come on, cant it save that one silly little setting.
I've started a few threads here n other places about the physical keyboard issue. many other ppl have to came forward having the exact issue where it does not recognize inputs. as noted, in some apps this is worse then others. stock browser I have this issue frequently so I dl xscope and at first all was ok then after decent amount of browsing issue would happen more frequent. stock sms the issue happens a lot so I try handcent and at first all was amazing then it would happen a lot again . . tried chomp and same deal. if I hard reset my phone the kb works good on most apps for a lil, then issue occurs again. does anyone who is advanced in diagnostics on these devices think this may be an angle at looking at the issue for a fix ? and if so could a custom ROM be a way at avoiding this issue ? I've never flashed a device on winmo or android but extremely love this device to the point where I would to regain a normal keyboard .. anyone have insight here ?

With the past two Android phones I had, I would just Boot into recovery (Vol. Down & Power button), but this phone won't load into one. I also tried Vol. Up and Power. Nothing. I then tried both, but it went into the "S/W Upgrade" screen. Is there anyway to bypass this without having to send it back?

I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?

However, when I restored helix, none of my apps were restored to their appropriate home screen like it normally is. It's a pain to drag them all one by one again to where I want them. I have to reconnect manually by providing the authentication key. WiFi Manager is not remembering the last access point used. I am using the Settings application provided by the android.
