I think this is a great app but when logging in with the guest account I can't see pictures, videos or files, only music. It is set for these to all be shown in the settings for the guest account? Works fine on the owner account?

I've seen plenty of apps for hiding your favorite pictures, videos and music. But I've seen nothing for hiding your pdf magazines. I don't want to create a guest account.

Recently, he's been going into places in my phone that I don't want him to go in. My email, my contacts, and other files. Once, he even sent out a massive test to random people on my contact list. So, I banned him from playing with my phone until I find an app that blocks guest users from going through parts of my phone that I don't want them too.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got a problem that I'm hoping somone will be able to help me with.I work at a hospital that has complimentary wi-fi for all of the patients and guests.I get a signal in the lab and am able to connect with my Incredible.However, this network has one of those stipulations that you open a browser to complete the setup.If on a laptop, you would open the browser and then accept the terms of use for using the internet. I'm wondering how I can go about getting fully connected with my Incredible.I've tried opening up the browser that came with the phone and I've also tried using Opera Mini 5.Neither one goes to that page so I can accept the TOU.

just got my desire this morning and i don't really know what i'm doing with it, i've never had a smart phone before. i've set up my hotmail account as the email account on the phone but, call me paranoid, i'd rather not have it on there at all. if i delete the account on the phone will it have any detremental effect on the actual email account?

Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two gmail accounts, each with their own Google Voice account. Account 1 is my primary account, and I have even ported my phone number to this account. I'm using this account on my phone (nexus 5), and have 0 issues with this account. All texts, voicemails, etc come through with no issues. Account 2 is largely not used. I would like to use account 2 on my nexus 7, for texts, and maybe making calls if I don't want to give out my real number to someone.
My issue is when I'm logged in to account 2 on my nexus 7, I'm getting text notifications for account 1 on my nexus 7. But if I were to open Google Voice on the nexus 7, once GV refreshes, the texts disappear. It doesn't happen the other way around. If I get a text/vm to account 2, it does not notify my phone, which is logged in to account 1.
I've checked the settings in both GV accounts, and neither account is linked to the other, or to send copies of texts/vm notifications to the other. How do I stop notifications from GV account 1 to stop displaying on account 2? I have cleared cache, data, uninstalled the app. The only thing i have not done, is a reset of the nexus 7.
I was initially logged in to account 1 on my nexus 7, but I would have thought removing the app from the device would have essentially erased all traces of the account 1 on the nexus 7. I even signed out of hangouts, to make sure Google was not treating this like my phone, and sending it both places.
I have 2 gmail accounts. Unfortunately, one of them is for my calendar and contacts and the other is for my personal e-mail. As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I set up my Droid X, it used my default gmail address for Gtalk. As far as I can tell, there is absolutely no way to change your gtalk account to another account. My problem is, I want my girlfriend to be able to send me chat messages at any time of day through gtalk (she has a blackberry), but I don't want to have to set up my account as "always available," because I don't want people on gmail to send me chat messages and then think I'm at my computer and ignoring them when I don't respond. Before I got my Android phone, I was invisible 100% of the time. I can't set my account to invisible on my phone though because gtalk thinks I'm offline and forwards it to my email. I saw that there is some kind of mobile indicator that I turned on in options, but I have never seen it actually work. When I view my gtalk account from another account it just shows me as a available and doesn't indicate I'm on mobile. I thought I could get around this by setting up a separate gmail account ONLY to use for gtalk with my girlfriend. That way I could set it to Always On however gtalk will not let me add it. So how can I possibly set up gtalk so my girlfriend can chat with me at any time of day, yet I can keep my status as invisible so none of my gmail friends can?

I also have a gmail account that just forwards all email to apps. But my picasa and googleTalk are on the gmail account. I don't know what account to make my primary and am looking for some guidance. Is it easy to switch back and forth? I prefer my apps account for contacts etc but I think I will like the googletalk and other aspects of a vanilla gmail account.

When I try to add another account, it seems to try setting up the account, and then returns the following error: "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server." I have tried multiple times and always get the same error. Data is always turned on and I have a good signal.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just synced with app brain and immediately afterwords received about 7 messages saying my credit card was billed. i was able to stop 3 of them. (by the way this was app that i didn't buy, have on my phone, or ever even heard of for that matter) now verizon is telling me that the only way to change the default account is to do a hard reset, which we all know, but then also said that unless i put the original account back on the phone, i wont be able to get the apps that I DID pay for, without buying them again....THAT is bullshit! the apps should be associated with the phone number, not a freaking email account. does anyone know if there is anyways around this?

Naturally, he doesn't want anyone else to have access to his google account, but it means only he can access the developer account. The only problem here is we have an app published with a few hundred users. What I'd like to know is how to migrate the management of that app over to a different android development account. I know one can't change the association between developer account and google account, that's not what I'm asking about. I'd just like to preserve the app feedback that already exists, and not alienate any of the current users. Anybody know what I can do?

We deployed an app to the Market under the client's developer account. We now want to transfer the app to a different developer account. Is there a way to do this, without confusing the user? My fear is that there will be two apps in the Market. One will no longer be supported. One idea we had was publish both. The existing one would get a nag screen that tells the user that this app is no longer supported and directs them to download the new version.

I am a developer in a country which is neither a buying-app supported nor a selling-app supported country, and have submitted my application to Android market as a paid application. Now, I would like to see if I can see my app on the the Android market, but can't find a way to set my Android phone to as US account.I have tried setting the location of my account to US, creating a new Google Account and set my location to US, but both methods don't allow me to browse the paid applications. Is there a way to get around this? or should I physically be present in one of those country to really test the presence of my paid apps in the Android market? Does the Android market determine the location by the IP address of the Android Phone?

However I want to enable the user to login to his google account without opening the browser. I have made some attempts to just simulate the http-posts done, but to no avail. Are there any nice way of doing this google account login in android code? For example, to make my own loginscreen, and then send user/pass to the google apps server and get an aknowledgement if the login information was correct.

When I go to my youtube app on my G1 it links up to the one that my gmail is linked too. I deleted that account from my computer but it is still showing up on my G1. I went to my youtube account that I use from my computer and set the email to my gmail account but it still shows up in my youtube app as the account that I don't use. Actually when my application is removed, all the related accounts are removed, and consequently all the account contacts disappear from the device. I was wondering if there is a way to keep the accounts information or eventually to be notified when the application is being uninstalled, in order to allow the application to advice the user.
