I've seen plenty of apps for hiding your favorite pictures, videos and music. But I've seen nothing for hiding your pdf magazines. I don't want to create a guest account.

I think this is a great app but when logging in with the guest account I can't see pictures, videos or files, only music. It is set for these to all be shown in the settings for the guest account? Works fine on the owner account?

My understanding is that I will need to unlock the boot loader, and then install "something" to create the Super User account.

- Then look up your local public library. See if they have agreement with Zinio for digital magazines. I did with my local library through their website and they did!
-go to your library and open a library card.
- go back to the library's website and click on link for Zinio magazines. You'll need to then type in the library card #
- you'll also need to register for Zinio which is totally free. Use the same email you used to get your library card
- Then browse what magazines are available and download away. The magazines download to your device and it's yours forever.
- again this is totally Free and Legal.
My library has alot of magazines but only one car magazine, Car and Driver, but alot of others like Newsweek, US weekly, National Geographic.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two gmail accounts, each with their own Google Voice account. Account 1 is my primary account, and I have even ported my phone number to this account. I'm using this account on my phone (nexus 5), and have 0 issues with this account. All texts, voicemails, etc come through with no issues. Account 2 is largely not used. I would like to use account 2 on my nexus 7, for texts, and maybe making calls if I don't want to give out my real number to someone.
My issue is when I'm logged in to account 2 on my nexus 7, I'm getting text notifications for account 1 on my nexus 7. But if I were to open Google Voice on the nexus 7, once GV refreshes, the texts disappear. It doesn't happen the other way around. If I get a text/vm to account 2, it does not notify my phone, which is logged in to account 1.
I've checked the settings in both GV accounts, and neither account is linked to the other, or to send copies of texts/vm notifications to the other. How do I stop notifications from GV account 1 to stop displaying on account 2? I have cleared cache, data, uninstalled the app. The only thing i have not done, is a reset of the nexus 7.
I was initially logged in to account 1 on my nexus 7, but I would have thought removing the app from the device would have essentially erased all traces of the account 1 on the nexus 7. I even signed out of hangouts, to make sure Google was not treating this like my phone, and sending it both places.
just got my desire this morning and i don't really know what i'm doing with it, i've never had a smart phone before. i've set up my hotmail account as the email account on the phone but, call me paranoid, i'd rather not have it on there at all. if i delete the account on the phone will it have any detremental effect on the actual email account?

I tried using giffgaff, but when i save the APN that giffgaff made, it isn't there. And I tried doing it manually too. It's not there when i press save.
I tried using APN backup and restore, and when i open the app, it says "Unfortunately APNs cannot be restored or deleted on this device because android 4.0+ does not allow 3rd party apps to write APN settings."
I already checked the unknown sources in settings>security>unknown sources.
I don't know what to do to create new APN.
Where would one begin to create an Android rom? I have looked at a couple of tutorials but they all require me to download some application that is not open source and only has binaries for Windows.

As it is right now Android does a stellar job finding your media and adding it to your gallery. I found this video showing how to hide a folder by renaming the folder using Astro and adding a "." to the beginning of the folder name.

Cool tablet but coming from Blackberry Playbook (still own it) it just kills me that the taskbar (i think this is how it is called) is always visible whether watching a movie or playing a game. Brilliant, the application is password protected and has remote wipe capabilities, but that still isn't enough for them! Which means I'm stuck carrying two phones around. I would like to either hide superuser/su/root from the phone when I'm not needing the escalated rights, or just block it from seeing it completely.

In there, all the red parts contain tutorials on settings that don't actually work on my device, and for OCD sake, I don't want them appearing in my settings because of it. But simply cutting them out of that file will make the settings app crash whenever i open that menu
So question is: is there a way to hide these settings without impairing their functions?
