I thought I had seen some application where you can call someone and have it go straight to their voicemail. I've been looking around and haven't been able to find it. Does anyone know if such an app exists.

Dunno if this has been covered and maybe this is a stupid question. I have not had the phone long enough to have much call waiting experiences but the times I did, I noticed I had to press menu and then go thru a menu to "click over" to the other call. This is g=fine and dandy from the comfort of your couch but is not advisable if you are driving a car. Is there a one button shortcut to go to the other call without having to look at a menu?

"How to" I find said that if I select a contact, there should be a box to check for "send straight to voicemail". As far as I can discover, this does not seem to exist on my fascinate. Is there something I might have done that would make this disappear? Or is it something the fascinate doesn't have for some reason?

I need to create desktop shortcut for content managed by my app. I've found the way to do it using ACTION_CREATE_SHORTCUT But I need the way to implement it without using "Create shortcut" menu. It would be great if user could select "create shourtcut" from item's context menu inside my activity and it will be automatically placed on desktop.

Seems like there ought to be a simple solution to this, but can't figure out how to do it.I'm using Launcher Pro Plus on a rooted Captivate. I want to create a dock shortcut that takes me to a menu populated with different apps to choose from (for instance a games menu). I know how to create a widget that will do this with Tasker, and I suspect that LP's shortcut maker will do it, but I've yet to find a good tutorial on how to use it if you're not already a dev.

Instead of installing another program I would rather just use Astro's process manager, it works plenty well for what I want now.I know you can use Anycut to rename and create shortcuts to most things, but is there a way to create a shortcut to a function within a program? If not with Anycut, maybe a different program?

Is there a way on the HTC Hero to create a shortcut (icon?) that will launch an app that sends a pre-defined string (10 char) to 46645 (Google) via SMS? I do this sometimes multiple times a day and it sure would be handy to be able to do it via a single click to a shortcut.

Is there a way to create a shortcut to a specific setting? For example, can I create an icon on my home screen that, when tapped, will take me straight to the Screen timeout settings screen or the Wi-Fi settings screen?

I have a bunch of email accounts setup on my Droid. Draging down the notification panel or clicking menu then notifications gets tiresome after a while. I would like to create a shortcut for the notification panel, that I can place on my home screen. Anyone know how I can do that?

When I had Android 2.3.3 I could create system shortcuts to various software functions, not just apps. I could one-touch navigate to various settings in Device Settings, I could do other things, in particular navigate to Wireless Networks quickly to choose network fast.
With Android 4.2, I can't do that it seems and I am left with upper drop-down menu. Any way around that to make my access to Wireless Networks settings faster? Even, better it would be to have access to various system settings as described above.

I know you can create shortcuts to the main Settings menus (battery use, bluetooth settings, etc.) by just long-pressing the screen -> Shortcuts, but I need to create a shortcut to a submenu (specifically Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Network Mode) This is on a Droid 2 Global. Anyone know how I can do this? I have LauncherPro and I know you can make shortcuts with it but programming those shortcuts seems pretty complicated. Also I know you can make additional shortcuts using the LauncherPro "Activities" menu but I can't find the "Network Mode" settings in that list either.

I have a zillion labels. Only way to manage the old digital life Any who, it's a PITA going into GMail and scrolling through the astronomical list of labels to see what's in there. Needless to say, some labels are, to me, more important than others. With that in mind, what I'd like to know is how I can create a shortcut on the desktop that will go directly to a specific label in GMail. It's gotta be possible.

I've looked all over the web for this. On my S3 - running JellyBean, I'd like a home screen shortcut directly to the phone's "Favorites" or "Recent" list. There doesn't seem to be any way to do this. Old posts refer to a 'create shortcuts item on the home page menu, but all I have is "add shortcuts and widgets", and there are preciously few of these supplied that are phone related.

I'm hoping for some pointers. I simply want two buttons.. nothing more, to allow me to control my music.I know, I know. "Why not just use the music widget?" Cause it's ugly (in my opinion). With Bettercut, I'm aware that you can create your own shortcut, but you have to have the source code or some sort of.androidaction.blah in order to create it. I'm just curious if I could use that or if there's something out there that's better.I don't need to know the artist or the song that's playing, I just, well, I miss the days of double clicking my home button and hitting next or stop with my iPhone. That's what it boils down to. So, if there's a way to get the music controls on the lock screen... well, that would even be better.Anyone have some suggestions? I have searched and searched for some sort of resolution, but it's been to no avail. Or, I could have just been searching for the wrong thing.

I'm having a problem getting my android dev environment setup in Windows 7. I follow the instructions here, as well as several environment sublinks. I am using Eclipse with the Android plugin. I have installed the Java JDK several times, in various locations (jdk-6u20-windows-i586.exe) - but I am obviously missing something.
Every time I run "android create avd --target 2 --name my_avd" I get an error:
C:Usersandrew>android create avd --target 2 --name my_avd
WARNING: Java not found in your path.
Checking it it's installed in C:Program FilesJava instead.
ERROR: No suitable Java found. In order to properly use the Android Developer
Tools, you need a suitable version of Java installed on your system. We
recommend that you install the JDK version of JavaSE, available here:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/
You can find the complete Android SDK requirements here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/requirements.html
This error message is the reason for me installing the JDK several times over. First I tried installing to a location on my e: drive. I then moved it to the default loc (program files (x86)javajdk.6.something. I also tried forcing it to go into the program files path, but it still automatically installs into the (x86) path. I have added the install path to my path environment variable every single time, yet I still continue to get this error. My suspicion is that windows 7 and the android tools are not playing together well in terms of finding the JDK, but who knows, it may be something entirely different. If you have seen this error before.
