i've managed to let android let me choose the APN which i want, but to go to the menu i have to do a lot of clicking.
how to create a shortcut to go directly to that sub menu?

When I had Android 2.3.3 I could create system shortcuts to various software functions, not just apps. I could one-touch navigate to various settings in Device Settings, I could do other things, in particular navigate to Wireless Networks quickly to choose network fast.
With Android 4.2, I can't do that it seems and I am left with upper drop-down menu. Any way around that to make my access to Wireless Networks settings faster? Even, better it would be to have access to various system settings as described above.
Seems like there ought to be a simple solution to this, but can't figure out how to do it.I'm using Launcher Pro Plus on a rooted Captivate. I want to create a dock shortcut that takes me to a menu populated with different apps to choose from (for instance a games menu). I know how to create a widget that will do this with Tasker, and I suspect that LP's shortcut maker will do it, but I've yet to find a good tutorial on how to use it if you're not already a dev.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI know you can create shortcuts to the main Settings menus (battery use, bluetooth settings, etc.) by just long-pressing the screen -> Shortcuts, but I need to create a shortcut to a submenu (specifically Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Network Mode) This is on a Droid 2 Global. Anyone know how I can do this? I have LauncherPro and I know you can make shortcuts with it but programming those shortcuts seems pretty complicated. Also I know you can make additional shortcuts using the LauncherPro "Activities" menu but I can't find the "Network Mode" settings in that list either.

I'm trying to set up a shortcut to open the JB quick settings window (the one you get by swiping the corner of the status bar, or swiping with two fingers, depending on your preference), and I can't seem to find a command for it anywhere. Not in Tasker, not in the Activities list, and no widget in the Play store that opens it with a tap. Oddly, I can use the Nova Launcher "Nova Actions" menu to create an "expand quick settings" button, but it can only sit on the home screen, while I want to add a button to my quick launch. If I could just create a widget or shortcut that toggles that button it'd work fine, but I can't find the functionality anywhere.
I'm running CM10.1.
I've looked all over the web for this. On my S3 - running JellyBean, I'd like a home screen shortcut directly to the phone's "Favorites" or "Recent" list. There doesn't seem to be any way to do this. Old posts refer to a 'create shortcuts item on the home page menu, but all I have is "add shortcuts and widgets", and there are preciously few of these supplied that are phone related.

I just got an Android running 2.3.5 and I really don't like the blue in the settings menus. Is there a way to get the colors back to gray scale? Also, is there a way to make all menus/submenus alphabetized? I don't know why they aren't.

It is most noticeable in the browser since the ability to add bookmarks, reload a page, move to prev or next page etc//Other applications may also be suffering from this defect, but it hasn't bothered me (yet).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a spot of trouble trying out the ViPER4Android DSP plugin on my phone. While I have the corresponding apps and drivers installed, I'm unable to enable the DSP effect owing to fact that there is no "Music Effects" option in the Sound settings menu.
Is there some way to restore this option to the menu? I'm using an AOSP-based stock 4.0.4 ROM on my Huawei Ascend G600. Perhaps it can be done through the terminal/shell scripts or an init.d script?
I use my phone daily in a non-Verizon network, so having Data Roaming enabled is very important for me. The new ROM I installed, however, does not have a menu option for enabling/disabling Data Roaming.
Any way to do this through script? Or maybe there is something that can be changed in "build.prop" (or another file) that would change the default setting of Data Roaming disabled to be enabled?
I have the Nexus 5 with 4.4.2 , I'm new with Android, my phone is rooted. I recently made the "buttons" disappear adding a line in the build.prop file and instaled LMT to have a pie,but the problem is that in Google Chrome,the Settings/Menu Button in the top right (the one with three little boxes) disappeared. However, I'd rather use TricksterMod, and I would like to be able to launch TricksterMod from Settings instead of the Performance app.
So far, I've decompiled my Settings.apk, and looked through the files, and I'm not sure what to change.
I have to change settings esxmlsettings_headers.xml, correct? Specifically,

The big question is, what do I replace with for "com.android.settings.performance.PerformanceSetti ngs"? Do I need to move TricksterMod somewhere specific, or what would I reference? dataappcom.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod-1.apk?
After making all these changes, I'd simply recompile and push the Settings.apk back without signing, correct? Have I missed any steps?
My work has hidden their SSID, thus the need for me to use the "Add Network" button at the bottom of the WiFi Settings menu; however, upon click the "Add Network" button, it just crashes and takes me back to the Settings screen. I click back on WiFi, it scans for the broadcasting SSIDs, and I click the "Add Network" button at the bottom again, and crash back to Settings Menu.
