I've looked all over the web for this. On my S3 - running JellyBean, I'd like a home screen shortcut directly to the phone's "Favorites" or "Recent" list. There doesn't seem to be any way to do this. Old posts refer to a 'create shortcuts item on the home page menu, but all I have is "add shortcuts and widgets", and there are preciously few of these supplied that are phone related.

I deleted my call logs Monday. I needed space on my phone. Didn't think I'd need those logs anymore. But we were expecting mail (snail) from a travel company through which we are taking a trip to Oregon and it hasn't come. We don't know their name (forgot) but I had a call from them and made a call to them a week or four before I cleared the call logs. If there was any way to get them back, I could get their number.
My carrier is Solavei (on the T-Mobile network) and they do not yet have detailed call logs to see in Activity online and it's all online. I can't use them to find the number.
On an ATT Samsung Galaxy S3 running 4.3 Jelly Bean (not rooted), I want to create a shortcut to Nearby Devices so I can easily toggle on/off my DLNA. It is found in Settings | Connections | Connect and Share.
Exploring the launcher shortcut options in Apex, Buzz, Nova, TouchWiz home and ssLauncher (my default), I could find no shortcut to Nearby Devices.
Using ES App Manager set to System Apps, I found Nearby Devices at com.sec.android.pernission.PERSONAL_MEDIA, but the 'Add To Desktop' feature in ES seemingly does nothing with this app.
I know I could probably use an app like Tasker to do this, but it seems there should be another way.
I like to frequently check for app updates, but wondered if there is a simple shortcut to do this? Now I just go into the the google play/store app, then swipe to go to the my apps and it checks, then I hit update all.

Now the problem is, JB doesn't have File Manager installed and I need to install TB to revert my backups.
Due to some unknown reason I am not able to access internet on my device either through GPRS or 3G connection.
I am desperately looking for a way to access my SDCARD wherein I have all my apk's which I can install however, without File Manager I am not sure how to install an apk.
I did some google search and came across topics about installing apk using Android SDK etc.. however I would not want to work on SDK as I feel its bit tedious job for me.
I also tried Android Injector however that didnt work even if I have enabled USB debugging Mode for adb + apps.
Now, I am hoping that, I can use the Terminal Emulator which is preinstalledo n my phone to install apk present on my sdcard.
However, I am not sure how to do that, what are the steps to install apk present on my sdcard from Terminal Emulator available on my phone.

I select the page where all the apps are...select xbmc app...sometimes it flicks back to main apps page other times the screen turns black/blank. i've managed to let android let me choose the APN which i want, but to go to the menu i have to do a lot of clicking.

When I had Android 2.3.3 I could create system shortcuts to various software functions, not just apps. I could one-touch navigate to various settings in Device Settings, I could do other things, in particular navigate to Wireless Networks quickly to choose network fast.
With Android 4.2, I can't do that it seems and I am left with upper drop-down menu. Any way around that to make my access to Wireless Networks settings faster? Even, better it would be to have access to various system settings as described above.
how come it loads slow accessing my phone/memory card items when connected to any PC, even using usb 3.0 cable or 2.0 cable, my SD card is a sandisk class 10 from my gopro so its not the sd card. and the way you view pictures is also different, example, in windows you can click on a picture in the folder and use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll through the pictures using left and right, but when trying to do that with the pictures connected through the phone i can't, and i cant edit pictures on the phone with right click like in windows as well.
my old g2x wasn't like this, access was just like viewing any other item on windows fast speed and able to edit picture files still on the phone,this is on a Galaxy Note 3 btw.
OK so I'm loving the note 3 so far but I need a laptop. I really want a macbook pro 13 inch with retina display for school and recreational use. My mind is pretty much set for this laptop although expensive I'm sure it will last me through college (tenth grade atm) and that's what I want. Anyway my main concern is that my phone won't sync well with the laptop and I want to be able to download stuff onto my phone, along with seeing my videos and photos. Even though its an Apple computer will it work just as well as an iPhone would with this laptop?

I know it is on because the light in the upper corner that blinks for notifications works and the soft keys light up when the power/lock button and volume button are pushed. I can not see or save what I have on my phone through Kies because I can not unlock it. I was wondering if there was any other way to unlock a phone like through a website or program, or even display a phones screen onto another device, because I have picture on here that are very important to me that I would like to save before I ship my phone in for it's replacement and lose everything. I did not have an SD card and I do not know if everything saved to my clouds or google docs.

how to resolve this issue? I believe samsung has an issue with 4.2.2 upgrade, I own Galaxy Grand GTi9082, after upgrading to 4.2.2, the phone hangs freezes and is literally unusable. I read online that upgrading thro wifi doesn't update the binary and hence went to service center. They reinstalled everything and flashed the phone.
Still I am getting errors like process system has stopped, phone freezes a lot. I am waiting for 4.4 kitkat upgrade but not sure if Grand will receive it or not, Grand 2 is slated to have the upgrade. Is it time to change the phone or something else can be done?
Yesterday I was downloading an app from app store (my phone is LG Optimus L9) and suddenly it just displayed a window with only one choice "Restore phone". I didn't do anything for it to show up, it showed up all by itself. I tried press home or back button, I even tried locking the phone, but it didn't work. So I restarted the phone, it took 30 minutes for it to boot and it showed the same problem with the error "com.android.phone process stopped working". After finding on the forums I decided to hard reset the phone, but when I do, this appears on screen. Is my phone long gone or can I still restore it and use it somehow?

Samsung galaxy rugby, 4.1 I have a verizon pop email for business The emails are downloaded onto the office computer (outlook 2007) and my Phone. Outlook is set to leave them on the server for 5 days, so if it beats my phone to an email, it is on the server for the phone to grab.
I need to store my emails ON THE PHONE after they are fetched from the server. I need to go back and look at emails 6-12 months, even when I have no cell coverage. I had set "recent messages" option on the android to "total" and that appeared to be saving them on the phone,,
For some reason I had 3000 emails on my server (6 months worth) and when I deleted them,, they disappeared from my phone !! Gone! I went to the email settings on the phone, and noticed that "sync email" was checked, I unchecked that, but then did not receive any new emails.
How do I set an Android phone to just download the email from the server and leave it on the phone,, end of story. just download new emails to my phone. If I delete it on the server it does not affect my phone and vise versa. Preferably storing it on my sd card.
I am considering purchasing an unlocked Xperia ZR and i have At&t network. Can i udate the software once i put my at&t sim card in this ZR because the phone will come with 4.1 installed but i have read it is elligible for an update to 4.2. All of these items sounded odd to me, so instead of choosing an option bc i wasnt sure what would happen, i pulled the battery.
I put it back in and the phone came up in command prompt mode again, i was really concerned why this happened. I am not a tech person, so i thought, is my phone hacked? I ran root checker, both said no root or SU identified, but it said busybox was installed??
I just received a replacement for my Galaxy s3 (cracked screen on my first one), and both the old phone and new one are running the same software and both are up to date.
how to get the Samsung keyboard to be the same on both phones. All settings are the same. the new phone's keyboard doesn't have the small punctuation symbols on the letter keys (like the old phone does). I know this may seem like a bit of a ridiculous thing to have an issue with, but I'm kind of... particular... with the way my phone looks and is set up. That, and I find it to be annoying to have to go to the Symbols section of the keyboard to use any form of punctuation.

I install Kies driver in windows 7 (on my laptop) , but my computer cannot recognize my phone. the phone is charged and when the phone plug in to my computer, sometimes the phone shows the message of USB Debugging connected and connected as a media device in top of screen and shows the pic of these but after a second again this message remove. My computer cannot shows my phone like a usb and i can't go to my sd card of my phone via my computer.
