So how can I create a custom method.I have several image buttons that I need to change the characteristics of such as an image when it is pushed and when it is not pushed. So when I push one button it changes to a pushed image for that button and ALL other buttons revert to an unpushed image. Currently I have to have this code in every button click method I would LOVE to create one method that I can call from each button click method that way if I have to change anything it is in one place.
I would love to when a button is tapped
call the custom method to revert all buttons to unpushed
then change the button being tapped to pushed
A very common process but I can't figure out how to write the custom method and then call it,,calling it should be simple something like custommethod.
I currently have an app that has many activities and needs to have a way of maintaining state between these activities.
I use the Application class to do this, declaring my global variables and using getters and setters to interact with my activities.
I was hoping to place a few custom methods in there, so that when I want to do a common task like, for instance, display an error message, I can declare the method in my application class and call it from any activity that uses it

EscarApplication being the name of my application class above.
I have tried to include this method in my application class:

In the hope that I can call this method from activity without having to redeclare it, but when I call it using something like below I get an null pointer exception:

Visit being the name of my current activity above.
Should this work, or can I only use getters and setters to change global vars in an Application Class.

The app would have an answer button that when pressed would perform the regular call answer action, but this isn't what I need help with. I've searched the internet and haven't been able to find any consensus on this issue. My app only needs to run during the call ringing stage and nothing more. What would I have to listen for to do this and what manifest entries would I need? They were not very impressive, therefore I have come here for suggestions. Repligo reader I think was better out of the three but I couldn't view a PDF file that had scanned images on it. I created a regular *.jar file but when I tried to create/style my views dynamically most of the properties do not work. Even referencing simple styles from the android.jar file such as android.attr.listSeparatorTextViewStyle did not work.
