I am having issues with a simple service not running correctly. The logcat shows some force stopping on the installed apk. Also the broadcast receiver should listen to android.intent.action.ACTION_POWER_CONNECTED but it is not.
This all worked on froyo 2.2 on a samsung galaxy tab.
Here is the snippet from logcat when I do an 'adb install testService.apk:

Nov 7, 2009Let me start by saying that the Droid is a pretty impressive piece of technology.I tried purchasing an MP3 through the Amazon MP3 app, which comes pre-installed on the Droid. Everything looked like it was working fine, until I got to the checkout part. I entered my amazon e-mail and password, accepted the terms of service, and was immediately taken to the "Now purchasing" screen - I was never prompted for a method of payment (is this normal).Has anyone else experienced this? Are others prompted to choose a payment method? The only other posts that I've found with this problem are from people in the UK who bought the phone in the US. The responses indicate that the problem is maybe due to the app accessing the US store, but the user being located in the UK. I bought my phone in Maryland, and that's where I live, so I don't see how this could be the problem.

It seems every time I try to open a multi page thread on page 2 or later I end up at amazon.com.
Is it just me? I zoom way in and do my best to hit the little number or "last page".
Can I block amazon to avoid this? Any other work around?
It's making it really hard to enjoy this site on my droid.

Oct 4, 2010So I'm at my brother in law's wedding over the weekend and the wedding music cd was basically destroyed. Everyone else had iphone's which didn't have the 3.5 connector to play through the chappel's speaker system. On top of that we were kind of in the middle of no where so their 3g signals were pretty spotty. Luckily my verizon android had a perfect signal so I went on to Amazon mp3 and bought the songs I needed and became the default A/V guy for the ceremony.

Mar 19, 2010I've switched from the Iphone 3G to the Eris 20 days ago. Android is sweet, but am feeling frustrated with the speed of the Eris. I upgraded to the rooted 2.1 in hopes of speeding things up, and it did for the most part, but it still lags when trying to make calls. Call quality is subpar on both ends, I had better call quality with ATT and the iphone. I am considering returning the phone to AmazonWireless if possible, do you think they would notice I installed 2.1? Will I get my new account activation upgrade on a different phone (Incredible or N1). I plan on activating an old phone until one of those comes out, then using my upgrade discount on that. Worst case is I'd have to sell it on ebay and buy an unlocked version.

"My uploads" - whatever that is, "Voice Dialer" never works correctly anyway and "Messages" are the other ones. Until Verizon makes Text messages free and or I feel the need to bother somebody with a few poorly typed text messages, instead of using the phone - I would like to get rid of this app that wont shut off!

Motorola Droid :: Amazon MP3 App Doesn't Work With Wifi?
Jun 13, 2010Has anyone else noticed the Amazon MP3 App (the one that comes preinstalled with the phone) doesn't work if Wifi is turned on? I've tried it on two wifi networks (home and work) and I can't purchase or download if it's on.
I don't know if it matters, but both networks use WPA2. One is PSK and the other uses RADIUS authentication.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so does anyone know a fix?

Sep 9, 2010Anyone know of a way to remove the Amazon MP3 Store application from an Eris? I have root access thanks to Universal 1 Click, but I don't see a way to remove this application. It keeps starting itself and I don't ever use it. While I do use apps on my phone I don't even play music on it.
Using AndExplorer I can navigate to my App folder and see that I can reinstall by clicking on the Amazommp3.apk file, but it won't let me delete that file and there is no uninstall option.

Aug 23, 2013I've bought this chinese clone of the SIII, it's a MT6575. It's great except for the internal storage, which supposedly is 500MB but there seems to be an invisible SD storage which is 2GB. It's really confusing... When I go to Settings -> Storage there are 3 memories: "Internal Storage" (claims to be 4GB but it's fake, it's actually 500MB), "Phone Storage" (claims to be 16.5GB but it's probably 2GB), and finally my SD, "SD Card" (32GB).
The thing is, I'm having problems downloading big apps because apps go to "Internal Storage" which is 500MB only, and which files are stored in the "Phone Storage" (maybe internal & phone are actually the same?). However when I go to Settings -> Apps, on the "Downloaded" tab, the apps are in "Internal Storage" (500MB), and on the "On SD Card" tab, it shows that apps are in "Phone Storage" (the ones I moved to SD). This means my 32GB SD isn't being used by the system when I send apps to SD probably.
Also, my 32GB SD card is found in /mnt/sdcard2, and the /mnt/sdcard... I don't know which storage is that.
So basically all this is happening because I tried to Link2SD with my 32GB SD doing all the 2 partitions stuff and so, but Link2SD never detects the "secondary SD" which is the 32GB SD, as this fake SD card, "Phone Storage", is probably what the programs thinks to be the SD card.
