Is it possible and if yes, how to start application directly from email, or browser. What I want to achieve:
user receives in email some activation link, clicks it and he is redirected to app, possibly with some Extras put into intent.

I'm working on an activity which other 3rd parties want to use in their own apps, via intents.code...
While this would work, this probably won't give them the desired effect of jumping directly to my activity from theirs - the android chooser dialog will appear, asking if they want to open the intent data with the browser, or my app.
How can I let 3rd parties call my activity directly without broadcasting the intent like this? I'd like to make them still pass the same exact data scheme to me, but just let them open my activity directly.
I am using APP Inventor, but it put my question as general from Android. How can i directly download a file from WEB without the browser try to open it.
I i put a url like: privatesite.blablabla/image.jpg
He will put the image in the browser, because browser can load the file and show it on screen, but i want to download it without reading it.
I need that to put inside App inventor, but if it's possible to do it in HTML or other, that's ok, i think i can make app inventor run an external application.
If I go to AndroidForums on my phone, and I long-press on the logo, I have the option to save it.However, if I go to a direct link like http://imgur.com/OLnXZ.jpg and it just loads the image, how do I save it now? I long-press on the image and it doesn't do anything. I am rooted and running a custom ROM, but I don't remember being able to do this on stock.

The problem is, after user done with browser, how can it goes back to where it left in our application? ( when user quit the browser, our application will show up the activity before went to browser)

But instead of starting download, the site is only reloading. I`ve checked with wireshark, that serwer gives in response desired widget file with correct mime type. Rather than download to the laptop then transfer to the new Desire I would rather download directly to the Desire but when I go to the Podcast I want - on the BBC site, the instructions of 'Right Click and Save as Target' don't apply.
If I click that instead it simply plays the Podcast - which I don't want. What I really want is to be able to download the Podcast/MP3 directly to my phone SD card - is there an app which would help or am I forced to download via the laptop?

I've not installed or even updated anything, have not changed any setting in any app anywhere- but it sticks on "Speak Now." Hitting Cancel makes it stop, but killing all apps and restarting didn't help, and problem continues. Any ideas of where to even start?

I just bought a 2TB Western Digital MyBook Live. For those of you who do not know what it is let me briefly explain. It is a 2TB drive that looks like any other WD MyBook. The only difference is it connects directly to your router (not to your computer) and it allows me to have my own personal cloud right here in my house.
Among other things, I put my music library on the share so I can access from wherever I am. I know that there is an app called WD2Go by WD, and this allows me to access/play my music, but I do not like the format.
I also do NOT want to upload my music to Google Music in order to have it stream to my device.
I want to know if there is a way or an app, to stream my music directly from my own source right to my phone.
Its a LG Optimus 2x rooted, It goes directly into recovery mode and i've tried to install other rom's but it doesn't work it loads until 50% and then just stops. Touch screen or touch buttons also stopped working but the "real" buttons work power off/sound up/down. And the computerdoesnt reaconise the phone.

I have gotten it to work with Orb, but would prefer to take Orb out of the equation and stream directly from the XM program or use TVersity. Orb streams in a format that uses the camera player, which I do not like. I would prefer an mp3 stream from TVersity, but have not seen where anyone has gotten it to work.
