This drives me nuts. I have the contacts that I want synced via my Android device and my main Gmail account, however I do a lot of buying and selling on CL and I am constantly emailing people who arent in my contacts. However I always end up with email addys that I dont want saved in contacts. How do I stop this from happening?

When i send or receive email the address is saved in my contracts without me confirming them. How can i change this? How can i either stop this our at least get asked to add or not?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery message I send from Gmail on my phone (HTC One S) shows up twice when I log into Gmail from an Internet Browser. I read this: [URL] which explains that I need to set my SENT messages to not be saved on the server (so that it shows up only in the IMAP/SENT folder, and not that folder plus the GMAIL/SENT folder).
But I don't see any settings in the mail app to do that. I even looked in the Gmail app, and didn't see them either. I am using IMAP and the default mail app on the HTC.
I switched to the Gmail app and though the settings don't exist to save (or not) on the server, when I send from this app I don't get duplicate sent emails.
After linking all my contacts between previous phone, Google and facebook i go to the linked section of a contact and choose which display name I want to use then hit save. Eventually the phone switches the name back to whatever it feels like. Is anybody else experiencing this issue?

the problem is that i get emailed when someone replies to a post i make. if i reply to that email, sent by facebook, it updates the facebook post (which i like) but it also adds the facebook email message to my contacts. since each facebook email is different my contacts list is growing quickly.
is there a way to stop the facebook replies being added to my contacts, while still keeping other replies being added to my contacts?
I have contact pictures for my contacts that I have chosen and assigned to my contacts manually and are stored as the Google contact picture, I have an issue with the facebook app when it syncs a facebook profile picture update the application forces the contacts default picture to be the facebook picture.
I don't want it to do this, it can change the facebook linked contact picture but why does it have to change the contacts default picture?? Is there some way this can be blocked or stopped from within Android contacts??
This has been prevalent since before I can remember with the facebook app and sync. Surely submitting a bug to facebook is not the solution as we SHOULD be able to control and/or lock portions of our contacts details..

I have a bytestream with PDF contents and want to display the same in my android app. Is there a way I can do that without saving it as a physical file? For security reasons: I want the user to be able to just view the PDF and not store it in the phone memory or SDCard.
Does google doc viewer has the ability to take bytestream and render it? Or any other app that is installed in the android phone?
Anyone else have this issue or know a fix? Contact pictures show in contact details and in the contacts app, but not in the dial or when I get a call. Contact management is the only thing I don't like about my X.

I got saving working, and now I want to automatically refresh so they don't have to turn off their phone before it shows up in the gallery. I googled around and saw this: sendBroadcast(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_MEDIA_MOUNTED, Uri.parse(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().getAbsolutePath() ))); I tried doing that, but it didn't refresh for me. When someone manually clicks the EditText and changes it via the keyboard, the selection is not saved. Is there some listener that I can implement to check and see if the user manually changes the EditText to set it as current? Or something?
When adding new contacts to the droid x, it added it as both a goggle contact and phone contact. (i only have one goggle account setup). I went into contacts -> menu -> more -> settings. I am UNABLE to check/unchecked the "Phone Contacts" (it is always checked). The goggle one i am able to check/unchecked. WHY and HOW can i toggle the phone contact? Also, backup assistant only takes PHONE contacts and not GOOGLE contacts...while g mail contact sync only takes goggle contacts and NOT PHONE contacts. How can one change phone contact to goggle contact? (i have seen posts all over but no answers...and just replies saying "i have the same problem") I am trying NOT to have two (2) different types of contacts. PHONE and GOOGLE. I just want goggle contacts ( or phone contacts. so i can at least use verizon's backup assistant.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid 3 and I'm attempting to backup my texts and save them to my pc so I can print them out if I need.I have downloaded SMS Backup and Restore and PhoneLeash. From what I've gathered, Phoneleash only emails the texts that have been sent/received after the app has been installed. I do like the organization of the texts, though. For Backup, I have gotten my texts backed up and saved to my SD card. When plugged into my pc, I've been able to open it up in XML format, but the texts are so hard to read, due to all the coding. Also, it doesn't organize the messages very well. It put all the texts I've sent together and all the other person's texts together. It would take a long time to get them organized correctly. So my question is, is there any app the works like SMS Backup, but organizes like PhoneLeash?how to make Backup organize the texts correctly?

View 13 Replies View RelatedEvery time I type in a number and then go to 'Add To Contacts' my phone NEVER saves the number. if that person calls me the correct info will show up but for me to call them is impossible... because they are not on my list. I have searched everywhere for a fix for this. All the correct display option are checked (for gmail i have EVERYTHING checked now)

I have a couple of contacts that have only one number but for some reason it saves upto three times, it's very annoying when trying to text because it gives me the little box to select the one of the all same numbers. Please Help and Thank You in Advance!

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I add an event and hit the save button, I see it till I close out of the calendar then try and get back to it. Then it's gone. I've tried to add the event via the stock app, LPP Calendar, and CalWidget...all with the same results, I can add, but try to get back to it or refresh the widget and it's gone. What the heck am I doing wrong? When I add an event from my desktop via gmail, it does save and is viewable on the X...why wont the ones added with phone save to either the phone or gmail?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI use sycmypics for LPP People widget. Everytime I sync smp saves the photos to my "All Photos" file in the gallery - 368 photos at present, many duplicates.
1. Can this be stopped?
2. Is there an easy way to select multiple photos and delete en mass? Deleting several photos from the Gallery takes forever - you get returned to the top of the list after every deletion.
I don't know if this has been addressed before, but I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge as to how one would keep emails in the inbox? The catch is that they would have to stay there, not have to be reloaded (as if you were accessing the mailbox from the website on your computer) and wouldn't get pushed down the line and out of sight from your designated number of emails displayed at once in the list?

I thought all of the Apps were saved to the microsd card to start with? I have 6 GB's life on my phone and still have 14.7 GBs when I connect it to my computer.
