Android :: Stop Astrid From Syncing With RTM Every Time I Check Off Task As Completed?
Jul 31, 2010
Is it possible to stop Astrid from syncing with RTM every time I check off a task as completed? I don't have a constant Internet connection and it keeps giving me a dialog window every time it can't sync.

I have tried searching the database for this and googled it and I couldn't find anything.
I'm not very experienced in Android, however, I am trying to develop an application. Within the application I want to check if the current time falls between time ranges
pseudo code
[HIGH]if (currTime > 9am AND currTime < 7pm)
{
//do this
}
else if (curTime>7pm AND currTime <10pm)
[Code]...

So I have a physical chart of time intervals (minute:second) which map to point values (for example: 9:59-10:10 = 59.7) and I need to write a program that tries to find out the point value for a given time (such as 10:02 would return 59.7). I would also like to have the interval chart stored in a .properties file, so my other "calculators" are all consistent. What would be the best way to program this?

In my App, first it shows a splash screen. after that another activity, then my main activity must be show. this is my design plan. the second activity(i.e before main activity) must be show for the first time user of the app. if he/she closes the app.splash screen will redirect to main activity automatically. how to do this ? Any Idea? i am developing my app for android phones.

I am a new Droid owner as of yesterday. Great experience so far. I have learned a lot from this site, but have 1 question. Is there an app that will stop my emails from syncing at night? I want to keep the text notification and ringer up, I also want my emails to sync throughout the day. Thought this might be the easiest way but could not find one.

I have an application which requires a login at the beginning (this is the first activity). When the user logs in, I keep his credentials in the application (I extended android.application to add a field called 'key'). I would like to clear this field from memory (from application instance) an go back to the login activity.
I see the following possibilities: - Add a broadcast receiver to catch all possible event (call, click on menu, click on back, lock the phone ...) which clear the key field and launch the login activity - Use clearTaskOnLaunch for all activities except the login activity. But then until my application takes the focus again the key stays in the application object. (It seems it doesn't work with the go back button, maybe I need to use no history also) - Detect for each activity in all onPause or onStop events when application will leave the foreground to clear the key field and launch the login activity
The best would be to have a kind of OnPause method at application level but I think it doesn't exist.

Are there any apps out there that would allow me to have both gmail and exchange switch from "as mail arrives" to "manual" certain times of the day?For instance, I sit in front of my work computer most of the day and don't require immediate email to my phone, same with gmail.So from say 8-5pm I don't really need instant mail. Also, from say 11pm - 6am I also don't need instant mail since I'm sleeping :-)it would be important that this would be controlled by days (for instance, I would like to be able to schedule the instant mail off on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am - 5pm.

Since I upgraded my Desire to Froyo I am having trouble closing the apps. I use 'advanced task killer' to kill the apps. But if I go back to the 'advanced task killer' few minutes after closing all the apps, I see all the apps are running again. And also I cant close the default music player with 'advanced task killer'.

Its 2pm and i have 15% battery left. I cant figure out why. I am thinking my wife bumped it unplugged last night when our son woke up (he is teething). I think on android 1.6 it tells you the date and time it was unplugged. I just cant find it on 1.5, i have spare parts and havent found it in there either.

my google calendar and my gmail sync fine, but contacts gets the spinning wheel that never stops. Is there any way to fix this without rebooting and wiping everything off of my phone? How do you even reboot anyway? Other than this issue (I'm on 2.1, not rooted or anything) everything on the phone works just fine.

When using Google Hangouts to text on my Nexus 5, every time I enter a web url the string is spell checked and becomes un-clickable. Example:If I type: "whatismyandrioidversion.com" into a txt/sms chat using hangouts, the string is spell checked and auto corrected to "what is my android version.com".
So, then I have to go through a very annoying process of deleting the spaces between each word and fixing the url before I send the message.

I think sometime back this summer, Google enabled this:
Google+ Notifications Now Sync Across Devices
It had been working beautifully for awhile on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7, but now it has stopped working on both I've got syncing checked on both devices under accounts, so I dunno WTF is wrong. Since I use G+ on the desktop most of the time, it's extremely annoying to have to clear notifications on three different devices (PC, phone, and tablet).

I have multiple applications which fetch data from emails, rss feeds, twitter, facebook, etc. For exemple, my Tweetcaster fetch data each 60 minutes, Feedly each 60 minutes, K9 each 60 minutes for all accounts, etc. Is there a way to make applications to sync/fetch all at the same time ?
I was watching a Google I/O session on YouTube, which was very interesting. The bottom line is, to save battery, you should sync everything at the same time, so one big cookie instead of multiple small cookies through the day. Therefore, I am looking for a way to force my applications to sync all together at the same time.

LG Optimus G Pro, running 4.1.2.
Outlook has stopped syncing now (don't recieve emails, set as "push") when on wifi at home.
I have to go into the mail app and manually sync to get them.
It's been working fine until yesterday.
Still works when not on wifi.
Anything I did, or just Outlook itself taking a walk on the wild side like it seems to often.
