View 4 RepliesI'm saving files in
sdcard/Android/data/<packagename>/files
the problem is that everytime i download the app to the phone - the folder and it's contents get deleted.
anyway to prevent that.
ideally i would want that to happen only when the user uninstalls.
for debugging and user app upgrades - i'd like the folder and it's contents to remain.
Is it possible to save an online image to my res folder in android? Please provide the relevant code...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Moto G 8GB which is running very low on storage (only about 800mb left). This phone does not take Micro SD cards but it comes with 50GB Google Drive storage. However i haven't used this at all. I am wondering whether i could download android apps and games to google drive, dropbox etc. Games like Real Racing take up about 1GB so i cannot download it to my phone. Can i download it to the Cloud? If this is not possible, is there any way that i could save the app data on the cloud. E.g. The Simpsons: Tapped Out is about 37mb to download off the play store, but then you must download the updates etc which are about another 250mb. is there anyway to save this 250mb on the cloud. Or any other games data.

View 3 Replies View RelatedA Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is connect to a shared network drive located on the network it's connected to (eg \sharefoldersharesofficeshares) I open a file from the shared folder, like a word or excel document, and make some changes. Here comes the challenge: When I save the file, it does not save back to the shared folder but only locally on the tablet. That means that if I go to a computer on the same network, connected to the folder and open the file I just edited on the tablet; No changes has been made
The problem is that I have yet to find a android word/excel processor that has the option to save on a network drive.
The only solution without an app with the option stated above is to somehow syncronize the android folder where the edited file is saved. Unfortunately that requires some actions that I would not like to teach the non-IT personal who uses the tablet.
Im looking for sumthin that would when taking a picture, save a copy of it in the normal DCIM folder, BUT also save a copy in another subdirectory... so essentially ill have 2 of them. the current camera i take a picture, then have to go through my sd card with ES file explorer and copy/paste into the backup directory. ive heard good things about "my backup pro"... but what can i do wit hthis. if i used that app would it .zip folder all my media so i could essentially just take the zip off and put it onto the media hard drive in house.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying out new ROM's and it's been fun. Here is my biggest headache with doing this. I have about 10 contacts that are Direct Dial (speed dial to the rest of the world). What I do is put them in a folder as a shortcut to prevent accidental dialing. But I have to constantly redo this set up. Is there a way to save a folder and it's contents, such as direct dial numbers, to my sd card and bring it back with each new ROM or launcher? Starred folder doesn't work for me as it's more clicking when I am driving. The app Direct Dial still takes several clicks.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased an unlocked HTC Desire. As you may or may not know, here in Australia the only carrier of the Desire is Telstra. However I use 3 mobile so that's the reason I purchased an unlocked device.
My problem is that my phone has about a dozen or more apps which are installed by Telstra and uninstallable. Most of them are 100% useless because I'm not even on their network and I'd like them out of my applications list.
I've had a read around and I saw something about being able to remove them by deleting the file and then uninstalling them using a command prompt program.
Would anyone please be able to give me detailed instructions on how to do this because I'm not sure how to find the system/apps folder and I'm also not sure on how to get the command prompt thing to work.
Everything is in the title... How to extract a picture photo from a MMS ? Pressing screen on the picture only ask for 1) use for a contact 2) use for the screen picture. How can I "save it" in my DCIM folder ?
In french:
Quand je reçois une photo par MMS, j'ai le choix d'"afficher l'image".
Ensuite je peux "utiliser l'image comme fond d'écran" ou "utiliser l'image comme image du contact".
COMMENT suaver la photo tout simplement ?
When moving apps into folders does it only create a shortcut to the app? When I open app drawer I would like to have/see only 3 or 4 folders...not a list of current apps. Is this possible?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I understand correctly, if I were to either hard reset my phone (Sprint HTC Hero) or exchange my phone for a new Hero (if my current one was lost, for example), I should be able to sign into the Market using the same ID I am using now and download my paid apps (and not have to pay again). However, what about the free apps? Are those tied to my ID somehow? I want to keep a list of what apps I have (paid and free). The only way I can think of doing that is to go to My Downloads in the Market and write down the name of each app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to create folders on the "all programs" page you get when you push the widgets/apps button next to Phone? I'd like to push that button and then maybe see a games folder at the top and a media folder for camera apps and media players. Maybe a news/reference folder for my dictionaries, reference and news apps. The rest of the stuff I'd like to just leave there open and accessible.

I'm working on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, which has a folder in the app drawer. I want to move the apps in that folder OUT of there, and just put them back into the overall app drawer.
But I just can't even begin to figure it out -- all I can do is move the apps to a home screen, but they'll remain in that app drawer folder.
Is there an App that redirects other Apps into one folder on your phone?
I ask this because I do not like GUI's, and I use explore to add movies, music, etc. and I do not like the endless folders that are on the root of the memory.
I just got the droid eris and i wanted to know which apps are the "must haves". apps that can save me time or make my phone run faster. Apps that you think are important.
