Is it possible to open Google Maps that I have saved on the phone?Im going on a vacation and I have saved the attractions I wanna visit on Google Maps, is it possible to open them with the phone, eventually save the map on the mobilephone?

I recently downloaded hidenseek, amongst other apps and every time i go to install the app(s), google maps opens up and then tells me it can't open the content, or some similar message. What's all that about then? (the apps haven't installed either).
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust tested it out, I sent a bing map to the phone and it opened up bing in the browser. Was hoping to at least have an option to 'open with' google maps. Any workarounds, you creative people? I wish chrometophone would auto-convert bing maps to google maps on the fly.

Any way to open local KML files with google maps in offline mode ? I want to open kml ONLY in google maps, i know there are several apps out there that support kml files....
Sorry if this has been asked before. Does anyone know when downloading a attachment in email and when completed, you decide to open instead of saving to SD card - does the attachment automatically delete? Or does it get installed into the main memory? If so, how do we delete unwanted attachments?

View 9 Replies View RelatedIs Google Latitude available in the UK or not, because it doesn't seem to be working for me? I have received the RC9 update for G1 and have Google Maps 3.0. Is there an a Google Latitude application that I should have or do I access everything through Google Maps? When I go the www.google.com/latitude on my G1, it offers me the option of "launching" Latitude but it just takes me to Google Maps. From there, I cannot see the locations of my Google "friends" (who have agreed to show location), neither does my own location show up on the Latitude homepage on the web (I have settings turned to "detect my location automatically").

They'll stay for a day or two, then the contact will just disappear (not in phone or Gmail online). I've tried re-saving numerous times, same result. But one thing I can't figure out is how to set a reminder for the next time I'm at a saved location in Google Now. For instance, Google Now knows I go to my parents so it saved the address in Google Now and I renamed it to "My Parents". But I can't set a reminder by saying "next time at I'm at My Parents, remind me...". Is this just a limitation or is there a way to do this?

The songs are in data/data/com.google.android.music
However despite the full size and valid extension they cannot be played in any other app then Google Play (not even when i transfer them to the PC) ARE they encrypted? If so how to fix this?

Is there a way i can group all my contacts to my Google account that are saved to phone. I start saving them to phone instead of Google when giving the option, thinking i could just sync whenever i upgraded ROMS. I was wrong i lost some contacts, restoring older ROMS. So for future references I will save to google, I just want to know if the current contacts now can be saved to Google grouped or i have to go in and do them individually.

The ooficial API example worked just fine but if I copy the code into my own project it keeps saying: "The application has stopped unexpectedly". I looked up the key in the keystore several times and registered it with google. Even tried reinstalling the SDK.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm using the latest version of Google Maps on JB 4.2.2 [Nexus 4]..I noticed that I cannot edit the names of my locations in "My Places" in the phone app. So I used Google Bookmarks (google.com/bookmarks) from my PC to edit/rename My Places. However, the names do not sync or carry through to the Google Maps app on the phone. The names in the app are still the generic names, coordinates or street names.
Is there any way to change the names of My Places and get them to sync with the phone app? Really baffling!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently had my DI replaced due to a tech issue, but before I switched over I backed up everything using "My Backup Pro".
When it backed up my contacts, it backed up EVERYONE - including 550+ people I follow in Twitter. I did not have these as visible in my People (phonebook) list, just in Twitter. When I synced with my new DI, My Backup Pro installed every contact to my People list, as the app must have thought it was all part of my phonebook. I tried to make the list invisible like I had it on my original phone, but that did not work, so I deleted each Twitter contact manually from my People list. They no longer show in my People list (though are available to be made visible from Twitter).
This did not solve the problem. Any app that accesses my contact list (even Search People) displays the FULL list which includes my Twitter contacts. There is no long-press or menu options available to hide them.
I am willing to clear my contacts and upload the list again, as they are all backed up to my Google account, but I am afraid it would sync with the server and delete what is saved there.
Any advice on how to clear my contact list of my Twitter followers, or start over with my Google-saved contacts?
Is there a different voice synthesiser that can be used for google maps navigation? To start with her mispronunciations and bizarre inflections were a source of amusement but now it is doing everyone's head in. I think I'd rather have Stephen Hawking than this deranged ladybot.

But for some reason the use of it is restricted for me in a special project.E.g. if your project is in conflict with the general terms and conditions of google it is not recommended to use google maps API.In my app (android, iOS) i want to display a location on a map by retrieving gps information. Overall the api should offer a similar scope of operation like google maps API.Which alternatives do you know? Maybe there are open source api's?
