Yup pretty simple. While abroad on my old iPod I had an app that allowed me to use WiFi to send texts to cell numbers in the states and create a chat. I am looking for something similar for Android. Also if anyone knows of an app that would allow me to access texts while abroad w/o a data network I'd love that.

i've flashed my device with a modaco rom with froyo to try it out. I've found a few bugs and found my last rom a lot better + i'm not receiving texts from abroad so i'm starting to think i may have to send the phone back to vodafone. Now i dont think vodafone have released there ROM - does any body have any idea where i can get hold of the next best thing?
View 2 Replies View Relatedjust about 3 weeks ago I went from an iphone 4s to the Galaxy S4, and literally up until a couple days ago everything has been going smoothly. Even texting. But recently , texts from an important number (a number that used to have no problem coming through) are not coming through. So I found since the other phone is an iOS device, and my previous phone was iOS, I had to turn off my iMessage and disassociate my Apple ID from my iphone. I did both of these things, but now this number that is trying to text me is saying the texts won't even send.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung SIII mini and i wanted to use 3g abroad so I bought a Travel Pass from my operator - Virgin. I activated it in France the 3g didnt work but I just thought it was because I was on highway. I entered Belgium but only for a brief 2 hours and the 3g worked perfectly. Then I entered Germany and for 12 hours being there the 3g signal didnt even come on. I triedturning the flight mode on and off a few times - didnt work I turned the remaining on and off and stil nothing worked.

Am I right in saying that all i need to do is select data etwork mode in the power button menu? Is that all I need to do? However, I'm concerned that the phone will use mobile data as well, either without my knowledge or accidentally. Is there a way I can ensure without any doubt that my Desire won't use mobile data? Obviously I don't want to turn on airplane mode because I still want to use Wi-Fi.

I'd like to use my DInc for wireless data when I have a wireless network available, but I don't want to get hit with any $100 roaming or international use fees. I think what I can do is turn airplane mode on while I'm abroad, and then enable wifi on top of airplane mode whenever I need it.

It just fails and all of the messages just sit there in the 'undelivered messages' section. When I press 'retry sending all' it all just fails immediately, without even trying. I don't care if takes one hour, two hours, 12 hours, a whole day to send em all, just send them texts!

Copying and pasting specific parts of text is kind of finicky.
Everything works great other than the touchpad function. When I try to move the mouse it just doesn't move! When I use the trackball to move up and down my internet browser scrolls up and down the page and when I click it will click on links so that's all good. It's just the mouse won't move. I have a USB mouse attached to my PC and I have followed all of the FAQ's on the gMote website. It only seems to work in debug mode. Any answers to why that might be? Is there an application that will allow you to copy your texts to your SIM card?
