I'm going to be traveling to S Korea and Japan next week. I'd like to use my DInc for wireless data when I have a wireless network available, but I don't want to get hit with any $100 roaming or international use fees. I think what I can do is turn airplane mode on while I'm abroad, and then enable wifi on top of airplane mode whenever I need it.

im going to Greece in around 4 weeks and i was wondering , Is there anything i can buy that like a USB dongle to use on my phone while abroad?I have just recently ordered the HTC Desire (first android phone) and really would like to use the Internet while im away.I dont think the place im going in Greece has alot of WIFI unfortunately so thats out of the question

However, I'm concerned that the phone will use mobile data as well, either without my knowledge or accidentally. Is there a way I can ensure without any doubt that my Desire won't use mobile data? Obviously I don't want to turn on airplane mode because I still want to use Wi-Fi.

I live in AUS and will travel to SPAIN and ITALY, I will use a travel SIM purchased locally there (to keep costs down). Will my APPS still be visible on the phone and will they work? - ie will they still recognise me and have all my data, login details and preferences readily available.
If not, how should I prepare my phone (data card or whatever) so as to ensure I can get access to my APPS working correctly after I have inserted the new SIM. FYI, the phone is a Samsung Galaxy S2 running jellybean.
How I would disable and/or remove the Verizon backup assistant program from my Incredible? I have no use for it and don't want it backing up my contacts any longer.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung SIII mini and i wanted to use 3g abroad so I bought a Travel Pass from my operator - Virgin. I activated it in France the 3g didnt work but I just thought it was because I was on highway. I entered Belgium but only for a brief 2 hours and the 3g worked perfectly. Then I entered Germany and for 12 hours being there the 3g signal didnt even come on. I triedturning the flight mode on and off a few times - didnt work I turned the remaining on and off and stil nothing worked.
View 1 Replies View Related how I wound up with this but after a factory reset I noticed that in my phone contacts there are all these "connections" with a chainlink type icon. I didn't have these things before my factory reset.
I don't sync with Google, I use Companion Link and DejaOffice. DON'T want to sync with Google. I can't find a way to "un-connect" and get rid of these things. If I press on them, I get an option to add a connection but no option to disconnect that I can see.
I'm assuming this is either an Android or another one of freaking Google's attempts to invade a my space, privacy and run my life and I don't like it.
Anyone know of a good app, preferably free, for planning travel (flights, hotels, etc)? I've searched in the market but haven't found much.

Things appeared to go ok, but now i'm stuck on the reboot screen (have the droid peeing on apple) for an hour now. If I can't find a workable travel expense app I may have to return it and find something else The biggest problem I'm having in finding what I need is that everything I've tried so far assumes that all expenses will occur in a single currency. Many offer "multiple currencies," but that just means that all expenses are tracked in dollars or euros or pounds, etc. What I need is the ability to enter an expense for a meal purchased in dollars at the airport in Atlanta, and then the next day enter a meal purchased in euros in Paris. I need to be able to have the euro expenses tracked in euros for the same report as expenses tracked in dollars. And I need to be able to record expenses in at least 4 or 5 currencies per report.

Mine heads in the right direction for about 270 degrees (rotating the phone) and the other 90 it is off by about 30 degrees. I have checked out 4 or 5 others in stores since launch day and they behave exactly the same. I also see this behavior using street view.
