View 2 RepliesI have used Lookout since it was introduced but lately I have been unable to connect to do a backup. Either via my phone or their website, neither method works. I sent feedback to them via their website but their silence is deafening. It keeps saying "connection error" and will NOT complete a backup. Is anyone else having backup issues? Or is it just me?

If you'd like to test, just shoot me a direct message here, or send us an email at support.at.flexilis.dot.com, saying you want in on the android beta, and we can get you set up.If possible, also include your experience beta testing other apps, and how much of an android enthusiast you'd say you are. :-) Those who submit that info are more likely to be bumped up the list to being in the first round of testers. Now when I try to backup from the web site it keep telling me there is a connection error but I get the text message saying it is connecting to my phone. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 31 pictures that are no longer accessible.Of course, they're all Halloween pictures of my kids. They WERE there.I've looked at them, been able to see them. Now, all of a sudden, they're grey boxes with a picture symbol and exclamation point. On my computer, they show up as a red X.I thought I might be in luck since I back everything up with Lookout. Well, apparently Lookout is NOT doing it's job. I've never checked up on it before, and tonight when I log in, although the option to back up pictures is checked, it DOES NOT BACK UP PICTURES! None of my pictures have ever been backed up with Lookout.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there such thing on the android market that would allow you to remotely connect to your phone if it were lost and wipe everything off of the phone? Say my phone is lost and I wanted to wipe it remotely so nobody could access the information or contacts on it is there an application for this available?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I had a question about the security of apps on the market. I read the sticky about it which was very helpful but have a question about a particular app. In my hunt for a good alarm clock app I found "alarm clock plus" which I downloaded and think its a great app but I'm kind of worried about some of the permissions it uses.
They are:
Your Location, coarse (network based) location Network communication, full internet access Phone calls, read phone state and identity System tools, modify global system settings, prevent phone from sleeping
Is there anything here that seems sketchy? I thought it might need location for some sort of weather functionality, but it doesnt have anything like that. And I dont know why it would need full internet access either.
Maybe I am being to paranoid about the whole app security thing, what do you guys think?
I'm looking for something that can tell me where my phone is if it's lost or stolen and will also allow me to remotely erase the phone if it's gotten into the wrong hands. Right now I have Lookout but it doesn't seem to have the functions I need. Any suggestions?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI want app-based security. If I lose my phone, I don't care if someone sees my contacts, or views my pictures, or plays my games. I do care, however, if they use my email. So, why not be able to assign on an app-by-app basis what is security protected?I should have to log in (a la Android screen lock) whenever I open my email.... but I don't have to just because the screen is asleep.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI stumbled upon this article yesterday:
Hacker Spoofs Cell Phone Tower to Intercept Calls | Threat Level | Wired.com
I realize that there is a relatively small number of people who would actually try to do such a thing to intercept calls (and potentially data at some point with some tweaks), but assuming that this can easily be done and such, how big of a deal is this really? I'm not too well-versed when it comes to cell phone communications technology, so I'm just curious if anyone here can offer any opinions as far as just how vulnerable this leaves those of us on networks that use GSM like AT&T and T-Mobile. The article mentions that the hacker was only really able to make it work on 2G. Does that mean we're okay as long as our phones show we're on EDGE or 3G?
Which security framework is available or can be ported to android ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if using the option in the Android manifest to install to SD would make a game any easier to pirate. I really don't know how hard it is to pirate an app on Android Market as it is actually. I am assuming someone with some knowledge can do it but can the average consumer? Would moving to SD make it so even the average consumer can steal it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was curious about whether or not there is a security app that would let me record video while i am gone with my droid, that would have the capability of motion detection or just "always recording." It would be really nice if i could hook it to my computer via my usb cord and record it continuously on my 1 tb hard drive or something in that realm. someone has been snooping around and things are always misplaced or stolen, and I'm worried as to whether or not they have a camera set up in here bugging the room (bunch of freaks.) if i could just catch them it would be great. the room's dead bolt is broken. and I'm not here 70% of the time. If they do have a camera already in the room, i can set it up in a way that they wont notice the camera I've placed. Please help!

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince the recent Froyo update myself and some co-workers are having trouble with Outlook. It always worked fine before but now it keeps saying we need to update our security settings. When you click it though it just disappears and then comes back later. It receives e-mails fine, but Outlook doesn't want to send e-mails anymore for some reason.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHey guys, I previously posted this (i have now added something extra to this one) on another thread, it took me about 20 minutes to write, surpassing by far any the maximum time I ever spent on one single forum post in the past lmao.It was originally a response to someone who wanted to activate gps remotely if they lost their phone in order to use 'lookout' and then deactivate it afterwards to save battery. I though I'd make it its own thread since it took me ages to write, and it can effectively replace several features of the 'lookout' security app.
