I've had a couple friends tell me their phone would not allow them to text me but they can text other people, I checked through the options to see if mayb I hit a block option on accident or something but I could not find anything.. mayb I over looked something? Please help b4 my girlfriend kills me because she does not believe in wasting minutes on me.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the MediaPlayer to play audio (mp3) files. I don't think I'm doing anything out of the ordinary, but, during playback, I get many (several per second) log messages like these:

I've searched all over the place for this - other people seem to experience the same thing but I can find any sort of explanation as to what it means.
Am I doing something wrong?
Also, how do I define a LogCat filter (in eclipse) to *remove*, say, all AudioFlinger messages? I can't seem to find the "not" syntax.
I've noticed today at work then with my phone on vibrate or with the sound off, I do not get any notification of incoming text messages. Same thing with incoming email on my gmail account.. I could have sworn that the phone would vibrate when I got a text the first couple of days I had it. But now I get no vibrating notification at all.

Or a way to silence it at all? i thought i was in the right menu for changing it, but i didn't see anything about silencing it.I downloaded ringolite.. and it said to silence the normal one first, and i couldn't find where to silence it. just to change it to another stock sound.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI purchased the HTC Hero from Sprint around a week ago, and it came with a stock 1.5. Had no issues at all, so today decided to try out the leaked 2.1 RUU. Updated without a hassle, but I've been experiencing some issues. This led to me repairing the bootloader and then trying DamageControl 2.08, and now finally fresh 2.0d. All installations went perfectly, nothing to call home about.
It cannot automatically detect my timezone, and it has no clue as to my location for weather nor other features. When I enable the GPS to go onto Maps, it locates me as around 1,000 miles off the west coast of Africa, whereas I'm in Pennsylvania, USA. I can call my phone from another line, but no response on my phone (no calls received, nor missed calls). When voicemails/messages come in, they flood in (10 new messages, etc, that have all stacked up).
I'm using the Wireless Tethering that comes with Fresh 2.0d, and I used PDANet/EasyTether prior to now (as my sole internet is tethering). I'm wondering if this could have at all affected it. Even with tethering disabled for a good hour, still nothing can reach me. If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be greatly appreciated. (Perhaps a radio update?)
i'm brand new to this forum (and to android in general)! i just got an HTC Desire through Telus and i absolutely adore it.however i have a very annoying problem.whenever i receive a long text message from a friend (over 130ish characters), the message is broken apart into separate text messages and the messages are not in the order in which they were sent. since i get A LOT of long messages from friends, this is a huge pain in the butt.i don't mind the long message being broken down into smaller messages, my problem is that the small messages arrive in RANDOM order.

-Phone vibrate is checked in 'Sound & display settings' for Android.
-Vibrate is checked to always in Handcent.
-Tried multiple vibrate patterns in both normal mode and vibrate mode.
-Tried multiple vibrate patterns for vibrate 'Only when device is set to vibrate mode' (option in handcent) while having the device in vibrate mode.
-Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent.
Phone vibrates normally for all other applications.

Is it possible to use your own sounds for incoming messages and alerts?I know you can assign individual ring tones to people in your address book and change the default ring tone, however I would like to know if there is a way to do that for incoming message sounds and so on.Any help or insight?Also Crossposted due to their being 2 areas of interest
Sorry if this has been bought up in the past but how do you get the phone to vibrate on incoming messages? I have the phone set to vibrate on incoming messages but does not work. does vibrate for phone calls though.

Perhaps even in folders such as "drafts". My old cheap Nokia could do this. When I now get an incoming message I can only delete it or leave it in the "inbox".

View 5 Replies View RelatedWell this weekend I took the plunge after months of reading (trying to get smarter) & rooted my Ally with Universal Androot 1.6.2, (worked flawlessly), then installed ClockworkMod w/Rom Manager v2.5.0.4 (had some issues at 1st) Had the damnedest time Rebooting into Recovery, even manually(send/menu/end). The app acted like it was doing what I told it to till it got to rebooting. the triangle with the android would pop up for about 1 second then it was blank followed quickly by the LG logo where it would bootup like nothing had been done. I got this same result when "Reboot into Recovery","Install ROM from SD Card","Fix permissions","Backup current ROM". But being the bullheaded soul that I am I just keep pushing & occasionally things would happen. I finally got to do a Nandroid Backup. Then I got brave and flashed my 1st ROM, Raptor v0.1. Again with the persistence & slowly success. However things seemed slow. So I got brave once more and flashed the Velocity 0.2-aloha. I will go back to Raptor to try it out but for now Velocity is doing better for me. Both of these flashed using "Install ROM from SD Card" option with zipfiles. Now things started working better Having less problems with CWM, however the "Download ROM" still doesn't seem to work, (error occurred while processing the ROM list). If you're still with me, just tried to answer anticipated questions from all of you, I'll get to my questions; 1. Is there a way to backup my text messages & complete contacts info including pics that I've added to each contact, so that I can transfer these things when I tryout a new ROM? 2. Any suggestions on a good Apps2SD app?. Any info on RageXicity screenshot on the Raptor release thread about what clock app that is, what dock that is, & where did that wallpaper come from??? I liked the layout but don't know where to get it.

My LG Ally is stuck at the "VELOCITY" boot screen and is stuck in a loop. I had Velocity 0.3 flashed yesterday and I decided to re-flash today. I have tried wiping data/files/cache/dalvik cache. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Also I never did a Nandroid backup (because I'm slow).
View 16 Replies View RelatedI have met a problem with the RIL. I am using reference ril to implement SIM PIN unlock function. When i use a pin blocked SIM card, the Android Java code through exceptions and the "rild" is repeatedly disconnected and reconnected. The at command response is correct and i suppose it is right for the reference ril to report "GENERIC FAILURE" when SIM Pin is blocked. I can not figure out the reason for the error. Can somebody help me.

Can I do something about it? Is there a way to detect that ads are being blocked?
