In logger_event structure, it exists msg[] as payload's message. Just I'm curious that how to write the payload's message in Android.
The reason is that I want to change the specific part of the msg array, for example msg[0] do always 05 when the msg exists.
If you know anythig about this question, plz help me.

As I can see in the document, to write network program, I got Socket and SocketChannel, but it seems they are all sync socket, it means, I need an extra thread to call blocking read, write... and etc. Here comes the problem, my program is a chat room, the communicate is not linear, I have no idea when the server will send a message to me, if I read in that thread to wait message from server, but the user want to send message to server, the reading function blocked forever, if there is no incoming data, then the pending outgoing message will not be sent. That's why I need async socket. So my question is: How to write async socket under Android environment?

I have a major problem with my Desire. When flip the phone sideways (to write messages), the writing doesn't appear when i hit the buttons. They appear when i flip the phone back, or when i send the message. But while writing in landscape, they don't appear. I have the stock rom. I know how to change this in settings but what I want is a widget that I can keep on my home screen that will disable the screen time out, and then turn it back on again (the way the wifi short cut allows me to turn my wifi receiver on and off without going through settings.
I do not think such a short cut already exists, I would happily write it myself, but not sure how to go about starting.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with my desire home screen (in particular the sms icon) and I'm wondering if anyone else knows how to fix it.
Recently my messages icon has been showing the little "1" in a green circle indicating I have an unread message. Problem is, I've gone through every list of messages I have on the device and there are no messages I haven't read and the "1" stays there. The only ways I've found to get rid of it are to either delete the icon and then put it back or to use Advance Task Killer and kill messages application. I'm not using any fancy apps for messages, just the default one.
My email counter is always perfect, this only seems to affect my sms. Also, my girlfriend told me she sent me a message a few days ago, but I never received it. Not sure if that's a happy coincidence, or if the phone got the message, is telling me I haven't read it, but isn't displaying it for me to see. All the other messages from her are plainly visible.
First, can we change the phone to vibrate once instead of twice when receiving an SMS?
Also, is it possible to have the phone turn on its screen briefly when an SMS is received?
I'm talking about while using the native Messages app, not with chompSMS or Handcent.
I'm in the UK and have an unlocked HTC Hero with a o2 SIM. When the 2.1 Android update is released, will I receive a pop-up message on my phone like people whose phones are under contract from Orange, etc? Secondly, the main reason I'd like this update is Google Navigation. I read somewhere this wont be available in the UK.

I am using RunningTaskInfo.topActivity.getClassName() to determine the class name of the activity being viewed by the user. If the top activity is an sms message (the user is texting) then I want to determine either the thread id of the open message or the contact name/ number, either will work! I am able to determine if a message is open by comparing the class name.unningTaskInfo.topActivity.getClassName().equals("com.android.mms.ui.ComposeMessageActivity") which returns true/false. When it is true I need to get the above information from this "compose message". Any ideas on how I can get this kind of information from an Android OS activity (an sms message)?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was goofing around my phone and i found out how to delete a message and a call with out deleting all of it like when you go to call log and click clear it removes every call or in your message t removes the whole thing instead of just one. well to delete only one call number go to the number and click & hold it until a little window pops up and it will give you a menu for that number go to the last one remove call this will only delete that one call. same thing works for the SMS message just open up the conversation you were having with the person and click and hold the part you want to delete and and a menu pops up and click delete. Hope this helped out the people that didn't know about this.
