Android : How To Erase A Picture For Person In Contacts?
Jun 5, 2009Can't find how to erase a picture for a person in contacts (other than to delete the contact and re-create) only gives me the option to change it another one.

May 11, 2010is there a way to get a contacts picture to show their facebook picture in timescape. I have linked all my contacts with their facebook accounts but it still shows the default white picture. I dont want to have to go through and take pictures of all my contacts. that would just be silly.Apologies if this has been asked before or is a simple fix. I'm new to this smart phone malarchy

Feb 23, 2010Having come from an HTC Hero I am struggling with my dialing options? Previously if I wanted to dial Martin I could just tap 627 on the keypad and the option was there.
Now with the Nexus one do I really have to scroll through all my contacts to find the correct person? Surely this is very laborious and slow.
Making a speed dial seems a bit silly as well as there are so many people in my contact list.
So any suggestions?

Sep 9, 2009This could just be me, but does anyone have bad picture quality on there contacts? example is i take a picture using the hero,and set it as a contact picture,and when its on there its blurry,just not clear as the photo that you see in albums, i have also used pictures that i have had before, and they are blurry as well, its like the hero blurrs it out, Apart from this i love my Hero,best phone ever made.

Sep 17, 2009I got my hero about a week ago and since then I'm still trying to import my contacts from outlook, but no picture imported although in outlook they appear with picture. All my contacts with picture in outlook were backed up from my old iphone. I tried to synchronize my hero with those contacts, but no picture. After that i tried to export contacts from outlook in a *.vcf file, uploaded them into google contacts, but still no picture. Also another problem: i deleted all my contacts in google and then synchronized my phone with it, but instead of downloading them from the hero, it appears that google overwrites the phone contacts. Is there any way to overwrite google contacts with the phone ones? Or at least merge them?

Well when i first revived a call the picture came up Cristal clear but after a couple minutes all contact pictures were blurry again. is there a fix for that?

Is this a pipeDream? I have done the nandroid backup but when i restore it is right where i was prior to Rom. I also have s- Off as well.

I sync'd up my Gmail contacts but when I set up my Facebook account, it added all my Facebook contacts and made my contact pictures in my contact list the ones from Facebook. I want the contact pictures that I have saved in my Gmail account to be the pictures showing up on my phone and I also didn't want all my Facebook contacts to transfer over to my list. How do I go back to my original Gmail contacts only, and import the photos from my Gmail account to replace the ones from Facebook? When I go to the option to change picture source, it only gives me my Facebook and Twitter accounts as options.

Dec 22, 2009Have any of you have success sending a picture to multiple contacts at once? I use Handcent Sms for my texts. I tried once and it didn't send anything. All I saw was the little green icon to the right of the text loading and loading like it was trying to send it. I tried to send a pic to 3 people at once. I canceled the picture and tried to individually send the picture and it wouldn't do it. I had kill the app and turn my Hero off and turn it back on in order for it to work.

Feb 22, 2014I recently went into my providers shop because my S4 wouldn't let me add Contacts. They didn't have a clue how to fix it so told me I would have to reset my phone. The guy at the desk backed up my pictures and contacts. After resetting it my Home Screen was still the same picture it had been before the reset. Which is fine, it's what I want. Now though, I can't find the picture itself on my phone or storage device. I've hooked my S4 up to the PC and tried to find it in a folder. I can't seem to locate it. Where would I find the picture at on my S4?

Aug 11, 2010Can someone guide me to what is the best way to send picture/video to an email contact? I am currently using 1.6 tweaked v3 and the problem is if I can't send message using the message app(because can't find email contacts) but have to go through contacts (gmail)to send a picture. However when I do that, I can't attach a video. Now if I use the camera/camcorder app, while reviewing pictures the "send to" doesn't work. If i click on "default destination" and delete the emply destination I can choose between 5 options. The phone book option say "sorry!" the application has stopped unexpectedly and to force close. I can send video using the video player which is weird since doing it in the camcorder app won't work!. Seems alot of round about ways to do something which should be simple.

May 4, 2010I am syncing contacts from Gmail, Exchange, and Facebook.I have contacts in Gmail that do not have pictures (nor do I have them as friends on Facebook).All of these contacts show the same picture - which isn't any of them.It's a picture that used to be the main profile picture (but not anymore) of a random friend on Facebook. The picture shows up when I click on the contact or when the contact calls, but not when I'm scrolling through the contact list - it shows no picture then or when I try to edit the contact.I can't seem to get this picture to go away on any of those contacts, and it's not especially helpful.I really would rather no picture show up than a random picture of someone else.

Feb 23, 2010First off the phone is not rooted or flash and I am using handcent. Now to the problem. If I'm looking st my contacts all the pictures show. However when I receive an incoming call or message the picture is not on there. When I receive a call it doesn't even show up on my caller id it just shows the number. I have updated the prl and profile from another issue that I'm still having trouble with. The longer I have this phone the more problems I'm having.

May 16, 2010I installed the latest Facebook app on my Droid today and found that it synced most of my contact photos beautifully. (I chose the second option: only to sync photos with my current contacts) However, one minor issue and two less minor issues:
- For one of my contacts, the picture didn't sync. Dunno why but I guess I can just add the photo manually.
- Another thing is weird. After making a call I've noticed that in my dialer's "favorites" tab, there is a contact who I am friends with on Facebook but whom I do not have the number for, nor whom I have ever called at all! This person keeps reappearing (with FB profile pic and email address) in my dialer app, but the person is not in my actual Google / Android contacts.
Any ideas on how to fix that latter issue? Whenever I delete this person's listing from the Favorites tab, they keep reappearing after I make calls (to other people) O_o
Oh, and since we're talking about the Facebook app..
- Is there any way for Facebook to use the Android notification system to let me know about any new FB notifications? As it is, I'll be on the computer and see some new notifications, but on my Droid I have to manually refresh notifications in the app before it knows about them. Kinda weird.

Apr 17, 2010when I run the command adb logcat while running the android emulator, all of the old logs blow past and so I figure they are stored in a file somewhere. Is there a command I can run to clear the logs and start fresh? If not, is there some other way to do this?

Android :: Astrid Warning - Prevent Unexpected Erase?
Feb 12, 2010Got a Samsung Moment a couple of weeks ago. Last night starting using Astrid (Task/ToDo app), which came pre-installed on my phone. When I launched Astrid for the first time, I got a warning message -- something about making sure Sprint Update or Sprint Updater doesn't kill Astrid, or ruin it, or something. Clearly, I didn't understand the message. But I clicked "Okay" anyway, and started using Astrid. But I'm worried that a Sprint Update could erase all my Astrid data -- my To Do's. I'm reluctant to create many Astrid tasks until I know how to prevent them from being unexpectedly erased. My questions: Can anyone explain the situation to me? (e.g., I have no idea who/when/how/where/what Sprint updates). Can anyone explain what I need to do to prevent the catastrophe about which Astrid was warning me?
