Just got a Samsung Galaxy S on Orange UK, but when they ported my old number to this SIM card from vodafone, the 'my number' feature displays the old number and not the working one. How do I get it to say my actual number as that old number isn't even valid anymore, and its annoying. Hope I'm explaining my problem clearly enough, hard to explain.

Is anyone else receiving phone calls from Home Secure 207-512-2295? This effing phone number calls me about every single day, its an automated recording. After the first time i made the mistake of answering my phone it has been non stop. Is there a feature on the evo to where i can block a number? If so, how do i get to it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have alot (and I mean ALOT) of apps on my Xperia, so I get around 5 app updates a day, which is now starting to agitate me because most of them are the same apps everyday needing updates.
Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.
Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?
With 2.2 we got the market feature to update all which will just update all of the apps that have outstanding updates in the market.
What I cannot figure out is how to stop one particular app from updating, specifically I do not want to update the Facebook app since there are many reviews saying it is a big battery drainer and I do not use the app anyway.
Also, anytime I download a new app from the market, it automatically starts the download of the Facebook update, so I have to cancel it or if I don't catch it in time I have to uninstall the update. For both instances it just appears in my update queue again and I have the same problem next time.
So basic question is: Is there any way to select an app to not automatically update with the update all feature, or can we turn off the update all feature?
Has anyone else noticed this? Happens when Im in calendar or SMS and I just want to view or edit the field on the bottom and the keyboard would pop up and id have to scroll down.

I am currently unable to update an existing contact record's phone number. I am able to insert a new phone number to an existing contact record but unable to delete or modify existing phone number records of a contact. Is there a way to either: - delete an existing phone number from a contact record. or - update an existing phone number of a contact record.
The sample code is as shown below:

The row value is always 0 even if phone numbers are present. Thus, the deletion does not take place. To update a phone number:

I have a ListView backed by a custom adapter based on a CursorAdapter.The cursor I give it is based on a list of Notes in the database (each note is a DB row).Everything works just fine until I delete a note from the database. I'm not sure how to properly update the cursor/adapter/listview to display the new data.I've read conflicting posts on using adapter.notifyDataSetChanged() vs cursor.requery() to refresh the UI, but neither of them seems to work in this case.The only way I've been able to refresh it is by creating a new cursor from a new query and calling adapter.changeCursor(newCursor).Could someone demonstrate the proper way to update the backing data and then the UI (with psuedocode if possible).

I would like to forward all calls to my number on to the new predefined number automatically. Is it possible to forward incoming call? Probably it is possible for Froyo at least. I found application called Easy Call Forwarding. But many people reckon it dosen't work actually. We can notice forwarded call by onCallForwardingIndicatorChanged() from PhoneStateListener but I have no idea how to set forwarding mode.

If I can't solve them, I'll have to go back to using my Verizon number. First, let me say that I'm using a new Google Voice number that isn't Verizon cell phone number or any other preexisting number. Second, my girlfriend is on my family plan, but she doesn't have GV yet. We're using the 700-minute plan, so we don't have a friends circle.
Problem 1: When I call my girlfriend's Verizon wireless phone using the GV on my Verizon phone, I get charged, and when she calls my GV number on my Verizon Wireless phone from her Verizon wireless phone, she gets charged. We don't cash in on our free in-network calling. I know, this should have been obvious, but it just never occurred to me until after I looked at the bill. I'd be able to work with that, though, and just select "Call without using Google Voice" or whatever when calling her if it weren't for the second problem. When people call my Google Voice number, I get charged when I don't answer. Usually, it's just a one-minute charge, but sometimes it's two or three minutes (don't know why). With anything less than an unlimited plan, minutes count. Not good.
Basically, i use my personal cell phone for work and personal use, i have multiple exchange accts that keep things sorted and seperated.
recently though i have been getting more and more business calls to my cell phone, during and outside of normal business hours.
what im looking for is an app that will take a selective group of contacts/phone numbers/CID strings and if it is a "business" call then forward it to a specific phone number (external number, the actual business line).
I have seen apps on the market and around that will forward calls to voicemail if they match certain filters, but i cant really seem to find an app that will forward to an external number. Any way I could accomplish this?
I'm selling my house, and my old phone number (which is still active), is on the advertisment signs and MLS. So, I'm going to keep paying my bill month to month for that account until I sell the house.
However, I'd rather not carry around 2 different phones. I did not port my number to my new service as my old number was not "local" to where I live now.

To do so of course, I have to go into settings, then display. Does anyone know of an app that I can add the toggle switch as a shortcut on my desktop?
