I'm having issues with using the number property of the notificationmanager.It works on the emulator and other phone I've used.However, it does not seem to display on my Droid Incredible.

I am facing one problem in message view. Bacically what I need to do is in message view I want to mark any telephone number or web address in different color. Can anyone please tell me where exactly the text is been written in Message View? On clicking this items it should launch appropriate event. If anyone touches a telephone number it should launch the dialer or if it is a valid email address then it should launch the Compose message event and so on.
Another question is whether to display message is Android uses the WebView?
I'm currently doing some debugging and I was wondering is it possible to display the contents of the phones SQLite database via the SDK? I know it's possible to do this via queries phone side. But I was just curious could you do it via the SDK?

Probably not.But the 2.1 update will most likely come out in Q4 because in my opinion, why release an accessory for your phone that won't even work >.>But this seems kinda pointless unless your phone is on silent or is in a backpack/purse where you can't hear it.

notification.flags = Notification.FLAG_AUTO_CANCEL | Notification.FLAG_INSISTENT;
I'm not really sure this is the issue but I can't think of any other thing to cause this (and I don't have any samsung phone to test it).Do you have any idea why would it bug especially on Samsung phones?How could I make the notification sound to loop without using this Notification.FLAG_INSISTENT?
Brand new to droid programming, but would love to learn as much as possible, so I finally got my emulator working correctly, I even got a hello world button to work. I'm attempting to make this button display a random number, I've googled this and came up with this code:
Random generator = new Random();
int n = generator.nextInt(n);
I fixed the Random function by including some Random java utility. I'm assuming this code above goes in the .java file of the project, so my button code looks as follows (tested and works):
PopUpText.makeText(v.getContext(), "Hello World",
PopUpText.LENGTH_LONG).show();
I figured I could replace "Hello World" with n to display the number in the box, however the following error is stopping the compile:
The local variable n may not have been initialized
I want to display the number of images according to one number.That means if number is 1 i want to display only one imageview in grid,if number is 3 i want to display the 3 images in grid .But i take only one image that means depending on the number that image will be displayed.

Whenever I make or receive a call, the name is shown, and the phone number is shown underneath the name instead of the type that the number is associated with.Any way to show the type (mobile, work, home) instead of the number itself? On my Iphone, when I would get a new mail message it would light up a red number with how many emails there were on the MyTouch and G1 I get a little notification in the status bar at the top of the phone. My question is on the Iphone if the email notification was lit up with a number of emails that I had... and I went into my HOME computer (or any other computer) and read my email the next time the Iphone would go out to check for mail it would find zero there and turn off the notification. But on my MyTouch and G1, if it goes out to check email and there is none (because it was read elsewhere) it does NOT turn that notification off and it always looks like you have mail until you go into your email on the phone and check only to find none. Any way to fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a situation where I have a broadcast receiver which creates a notification and the notification, when selected, sends the application to a new Activity with a yes/no AlertDialog. I have two questions:
1. Is it possible to show an AlertDialog (from the notification) without sending the user to a new Activity? (This way the user can click No and resume working in any other application)
2. A ListActivity already exists in this application. If the user clicks yes the user should be send to this existing Activity. Currently I'm dong this from a new activity in the application using: startActivity(new Intent(this,MSPMain.class)); I believe this is making a new instance of the Activity rather than simply showing the existing Activity. Is there a way to show the existing Activity without making starting a new one?
I ported miui us over to the att s3. One issue I have is when an incoming call takes place it does not show the "1" like it should 1-555-555-5555 instead it shows +55 55 55555.

Twitroid has the same icon. Any idea how it's done? I don't think (or so I hope) there are 10000 similar icons. Is this red circle generated and overlaid the notification icon?

I have an android background Service that will occasionally post a notification to the Status Bar using the Notification class. Occasionally, when I receive a notification, pull-down the notification window, and select the notification from the list, the specified Activity doesn't start. When this happens, the screen dims (as if it were about to display the Activity), but the Activity is never shown. I included my code below...
NOTE: The UserNotification class extends Activity, and is set to a dialog theme in the manifest. This class also has its taskAffinity property set to "" in the manifest.
