Is there possibility to add some custom actions to Android phone calls log? For example, user is entering to phone calls log, make long tap on some item and standard context menu appears. I need to add item like "bill call" to this context menu. Is this possible?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm in a trouble managing a spinner. I have a spinner with its adapter. I initialize the spinner with a list of values when starting my activity. Then I force the selected value to be the one used in the object that I manage.
Once the screen is initialized :
When the user selects a value in the spinner, according to the selected value, I may continue (or not) to another activity for let the user choose a complementary and necessary value.
If the user "cancels" this second activity, I want to rollback the spinner to its previous selected value, and cancel some actions made in the meantime.
If the user goes to the end of the second activity, everything is fine and I want juste to refresh the spinner display with the datas selected in the second activity (I overload the getView method in the adapter to do this).
Overall, I can easily do all of this, however, when I force the selected value in the spinner at the begining of my activity, or whene returning back from the second activity by "Cancel", the change value event is catched and the second activity is triggered (the user did not click anything at all).
How would you allow the second activity to be lauched only if the change of the selected value in the spinner is due to a manual action from the user, and prevent that same second activity to be launched when the value of spinner is changed "in the code "?
I tried many solutions, as setting a boolean into the adapter that tells if the next event will be raised because of an "in the code" action.
Or also putting a boolean in the adapter that tells if the adapter has initialised itself, and I force that boolean to true on the forst change catched event.
Is there any application or way to customize the actions performed when the headset button is pressed?
I use Tasker for various automated things, but looks like there's nothing there (did I miss something?).
Specifically, this is the button on a bluetooth headset that would normally start the voice dialer -- I'd like it to do something different, perhaps. I know that the button's "command" can be intercepted by some applications, because I know that Vlingo, when installed, becomes an option of an application that would "handle" the bluetooth button press (i.e. when I press it, it pops up a window for "which application do you want to use for this").
Unfortunately, Vlingo just uses this to launch its own voice dialer... If it matters, I'm using the Galaxy Nexus on ICS.
I'm searching for an app (or hack, or whatever) which allows me to do custom actions when there are too many incorrect unlocking attempts. For example, when 5 incorrect patterns are entered, get the location and send it to a remote web server. In my case, I would like to start Cerberus tracking, but that's not the main point.
Is there an app, or custom lock screen, or any security app that allows me to do this?
So Google has finished their announcement and it's Chrome to Phone & Google's One-Button Voice Actions. Basically my question is are these features that would just need to be turned on in the ROMs or are these things going to be released in future Froyo updates? I understand for Chrome to Phone it's going to be a plugin in Chrome and a download from the market for the phones.

After doing some research I've found Chrome to Phone available in the Market and in the Chrome Extensions. Works perfectly
Initially got the package signed incorrectly error for the Voice Search, did a nand backup, used titanium to uninstall the default voice search, rebooted and installed voice search through the market. Worked perfectly. I'd assume this would work for any Froyo ROMs but haven't tested.
Has anyone been able to play music from your phone on the music player using Google Voice Actions?
I find it alwasy wants to find streaming music and does not search my music that is onboard.

So when I push one button it changes to a pushed image for that button and ALL other buttons revert to an unpushed image. Currently I have to have this code in every button click method I would LOVE to create one method that I can call from each button click method that way if I have to change anything it is in one place.

A very common process but I can't figure out how to write the custom method and then call it,,calling it should be simple something like custommethod.
I have written the android application and I want the application to send the call information whenever there is an incoming call and it ends. This way I would be sending all calls to the server irrespective of size of the call log.The application just crashes when there is an incoming call i have been able to log the information about incoming SMS, but this call info logging is failing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue since i start installing custom ROMS. So, is not my first time installing a ROM. I have installed stock ROM's in the past. However, not custom ones. I have rooted my device in the past and even now before installing a custom ROM. I have installed through TWRP recovery various custom ROMS such as Omega, AOSP, ARROW, WanamLite, Google Edition and CyanogenMod but none of them worked fine for me.
In some ROMS I might not have reception (don't worry the IMEI is the same and backed up). However, in EVERY ROM my dialler crashes; for example, when im trying to make a call it freezes and the screen goes black without seeing anything. On the other hand, when I receive a call, screen takes ages to appear and show the caller or even accept the call. In addition, I have NO SOUND at all in every ROM as well.
I believe that the kernel might be the problem. This is because when i am booting the phone I always see the following:
I have tried clearing cache, dalvik, removing battery, installing stock ROMS etc.... and nothing changed!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't remember my DroidX always doing this, but recently after I hang-up from a call it shows the "Call Time XX:XX" in the center of the screen and I can't do anything until it goes away, which is generally 5-8 seconds. Hitting Home, Back, etc does nothing and tapping on the screen or the message also does nothing.Is this a setting I can disable? I can look at the recent calls to get the length of call if I need to see it, so I don't need the dramatic pause to give me this info.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems like my Samsung Behold2 the call drop ratios is extremely high, call drops out of no where and sometimes I have seen full bars on phone but still calls get dropped. Another issue that while on the call the other parties voice will stop coming, the phone will be running and shows the call timer on as well, cannot end the call if this happens, the dialers just seems like hanged. only thing to come out from this issue is either take the battery out or somehow manage it to go in airplane mode.

So, imagine this scenario: one application that uses SQLite database for persisting data. After a while I release v2 which contains some database changes and I need to update user data in database. Voice actions I think provide a bit more robust actions over vlingo, as they can be used to get directions, navigate you somewhere, call certain businesses etc.
I do like the idea of Vlingo's, text to speech, reading who's calling you or a new email or message. I use handcent and that has text to speech although its extremely quiet even if i turn it up completely. I also can't understand it most of the time as it speaks too fast in its funny computer voice!
Another plus, Vlingo is now FREE! I haven't downloaded it yet as I'm just enjoying Googles new voice actions, but I would be interested in a comparison with accuracy and speed in both these applications!
For instance, we are in SomeActivity and the activity has a button that invokes moving files from one dir to another (let's call it job).On Android things change. I know there's the AsyncTask that is probably provided to solve my case. There's even a good example of how it should be used. But since there's no guarantee of how long an Activity instance will live the AsyncTask should be cancelled on onSaveInstanceState (and restarted on onRestoreInstanceState). This means using AsyncTask there's no guarantee we are able to fully fulfill the job once started. In some cases as sending an http post request for creating a user I would not want to get in "user already exists for this login" trouble on reruning the AsyncTask. This is possible since the AsyncTask can be interrupted while the request is already sent (and the server actually is doing its job - creating a new user), but the AsyncTask is canceled before we got the response.
