View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes it will be 3 hours between when my email arrives in outlook on my pc and when the droid decides to pick it up (even though i press the refesh button for the email on the droid). when it does come in, it records the time the email should have come in. however, sometimes emails will come in within 1-2 minutes of when they hit my outlook box on my pc. my settings are set to recevie new email every 5 minutes.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy desire was taking approx 40mins to power down so I installed an task killer to show me what was running in the back round. I was astounded approx 25 apps were continually running in the backround so by killing these apps powering down now only take 15secs max. However, ive become a bit obsessed with this task killer. i keep checking what is running and there are things on there that i have never used such as "you tube", "news" "talk" etc. Could someone please point me in the right direction about how i stop these apps from running without me requesting them too? I know a lot of say task killers are not essential but it has certainly shown me the reason why my desire was running so slowly. Also one more thing, after powering off my phone, when restarting, ALL the apps automatically start running then? Is there a startup menu that can be editted for example?

I had just left the gps on, so it would be ready for maps/etc. Is there a way to tell which program is accessing it? My understanding was that you could leave the gps switched on with the droid x because it would not actually use it, unless a program called for it.

This is awesome! I just unplug it when i get to work and i don't have to go in and push pause or stop. I love it. Question is... is there an app that will automatically start playing music from the player? So i could just plug it in and have the music start and then stop again when i unplug it. I only use the headphone jack and listen to music in the car.

I'm trying to make a dialog box to open when I start a program. Eclipse likes my code, I like my code =), but the emulator does not like my code. It says that something went totally worong and the application has to shut down. Bellow you can see my code. When I run it in debug mode everything seems to go as it should but when it gets to "return dialog; " eclipse debug windows says source not found.

I can get it to sync fine with my Cox e-mail after I manually set it up, but I will not automatically retrieve e-mails from the server regardless of what I set the check interval to. I purposely sent myself a test email from another source and the phone never receives it unless I physically go into the email program and then it connects to the server and downloads the message. Is anyone else experiencing this? Am I doing something wrong? Right now I have the phone set to 5 min check intervals and it still doesn't automatically indicate I have new mail even though I know there is two brand new e-mails sitting there waiting for me.

The email I receive through gmail works fine with emails arriving automatically and the notification settings working. The problem is with the regular email program that comes with the phone and my Yahoo account. Even though I believe I have it set up to automatically check email and to receive notification when it arrives, I only get new email when I manually open the app.

But after a minute or so it locks. You have to push power button before you can enter numbers- annoying. Is there a "keep alive" option I'm not seeing?
On a similar note, is there a way to make the phone lock automatically (like an app)? It's also annoying to have to manually lock it: I'd rather keep waking it up (if it was indeed idle and not running a program) than forget to lock it and dial/message everyone in my contact list from my pocket.
