View 1 Replies View RelatedThere is an open issue with about 100 people watching it and 80 comments on it which nobody seems to care about it is http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1580 and it talks about Hebrew support for android phones. The current situation is that people need to root their phones to get it which is simply a ridiculous situation. This issues has been left unattended for a very long time and all that's really needed is to replace the system fonts with fonts that support hebrew. This has been done by Samsung on the Samsung Galaxy and has been proven as working and did not change the font of the system when viewing English. My question is, why is it that Google can't take the time to integrate a change that already exists in a branch of the OS into the trunk and thereby allowing many other people to enjoy the OS? This affects not only Hebrew, but Arabic and many other languages, what's the point of an open source OS if the project progresses so slowly?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to run flash website with my Android device(Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean 4.3). The website built for Internet Explorer only , but i succeed runming it on my FireFox browser on my PC. When i am trying to run this website on my phone , it run properly except of one thing : the Hebrew shows Gibberish.
I tried to put an image but i couldn't! I know that Adobe stop publishing Android flash player, but it still can be download from Adobe's website.
I search on the Internet and tried a lot of things: Flash Player isn't influenced of the browser encoding. I tried to replace a lot of browsers of android, no one solve the problem. After understanding the locale can be the problem i decided to make my IE on my PC show the same Gibresih. I change the religion on my windows 7 control panel and my IE showed the same problem. My device is English but i use application like customlocale2 ( I tried alot of those application). i tried to run the website on my friend galaxy s3 (genuine Hebrew) and the same thing happend. After searching on the internet i found this [link][2] which show how to change Firefox config on android device. I saw that the locate isn't for Hebrew. I tried to change all the configs that look like related to locale from my PC FireFox(couldn't find how to import config to Firefox android) but the same thing happended. (Maybe i miss some configs). Firefox doesn't have Hebrew edition to android device yet. When i tried it on My Google Chorme on my PC , the same thing happend. when i change the language of Google Chrome (including UI) and tried it works! I tried to enter to other Flash site i know and the Hebrew was upside-down.
My application displays Hebrew text which comes from a Web Service. When a sentence contains digits (in the middle of it), the digits appear in a mirror view: 29 appears as 92, 21:45 appears as 54:12 and 2,000 appears as 000,2.
Also, when a sentence starts with digits or English characters, they get thrown to the end of the sentence messing it all up... Is RTL support in Android still immature?
Can't understand why there isn't available Hebrew fonts on the Incredible on all other smartphones there is available with no problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc.
However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is imposiible to read the small font size in emails or text messages.
1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client.
2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller.
I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these isuues will eventually be addressed.
I'm new here so please excuse any mistakes on forum rules. I'm trying to figure out how to get usable Hebrew on my Experia X10. Ideally read and write but at least the ability to read.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDo anybody know if possible to have Hebrew fonts and keyboard. On the Incredible?
View 9 Replies View Relatedcan this be done ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem ever since i updated to 4.3 last week I'm trying to add hebrew to the samsung keyboard and it keeps failing or just not doing anything.
I tried to clear cache for the app and still now go....also tried to download using WiFi and 4G still no go
Another Issue I am having is that the Geo-Tag and the camera used to tagged correctly in hebrew and now all of a sudden it tags in arabic.
i'm very interested of buying the hero 9300+ model with the 512 mb ram. can i add an hebrew language (full system support) on it? the 4.1.1 JB comes without hebrew when you buy it...
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried few keyboards so far and non of them is good as the JB stock one, my problem is that I cant add additional dictionary to the stock keyboard.
I would like to add a Hebrew dictionary...
I love my new HTC Incredible, but it is frustrating to not be able to read and respond to emails and Facebook content on a daily basis. It was easy to add Hebrew support on my previous phones (Palm Treo and Blackberry). How difficult is it for Google to provide the hooks to support fonts for one additional language? They will satisfy the needs of most customers who use other languages.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSprint Nextel Corporation - Investor Relations - RSS Content. Kudos to Sprint, this is coming just in time for the March Madness, which is great! I hope this has been tested for enough viewer capacity because it sure will be tested by every Sprint TV customer. I am watching Lafayette v. Lehigh game live. I can definitely wait for Sprint to prepare another app to replace NFL Mobile Live for before the Football games start. Hope this is the beginning for a long season of good news from Sprint, Android 2.1 should be around the corner.
View 14 Replies View RelatedAndroid Version: 2.2 T-Mobile branded
Network: Base - a brand of e-plus, Germany
Taskiller Used: None
Issue: Switch on tethering OR mobile hotspot ->mobile network dies
I've installed Froyo on a T-Mobile branded Desire. After the update, turning on USB tethering leads to immediate loss of mobile network - it just turns itself off. Same goes for the mobile Wifi hotspot: turn on -> for 2 seconds, it's working -> mobile network drops off. Moving into airplane mode and back brings back the network, but tethering is a goner. With 2.1, USB tethering had worked. I'm on Base, a brand of e-plus. I've talked to their customer services, they say Base absolutely supports tethering.
Recently I logged into GMail with my browser instead of the GMail app, and discovered what I've read before elsewhere... that the GMail mobile web page seems cooler and better, than the app.
So, I've been thinking... which is better? Is either better? Can they both be equally good?
Either way, it occurred to me, it's interesting that all the Android blogs fall all over themselves almost weekly to come out with various "Best X Android Apps" articles, but I don't think I've seen any articles about the best mobile web pages for Android (or any smart phone for that matter).
I understand the money is to be made in apps, and that not much can (yet) be done with the web that you can do with an app (until we have workable Flash?) but surely there must be some great mobile sites out there that are better than, or equal to, apps?
I'm appealing to all of you then to make your suggestions for Best or at least good mobile web pages to use on our Android phones. I'll be looking around myself, and will possibly turn the results into a blog post of my own.
Here are a couple of starters that seem to be better than the app versions:
- Gmail: nicer interface, quick access to GTalk and Buzz as well as Calender, etc.
- Evernote: www.evernote.com/m Evernote has a really good mobile web site in case you don't want to download the app.
I'm looking for this font because I'm trying to make an android boot animation and this is the android logo font. Thus, if you know where to get this font, or what this font is called, please tell me.
