I found an interesting tip over on the Tmobile forum that helped me out. I seam to get a real strong halo effect in my pictures from any light source, that blows out large parts of the photo. Most likely you have touched the camera lens while changing the battery or fooling about with the phone. Solution clean the camera lens and the inside and outside of the back cover. It is still far from great camera but, man, made it a whole lot better. All this time I thought it was just the crappy camera.

I've also seen that the Paranoid Android team made Halo open source and can add it to their ROM using Git. I have found the two commits that I need to merge with my source code but how, I've tried google and searching through guides but nothing is working.

My AVDs suddenly can't reach the internet. I'm testing using the browser of the AVD. I haven't changed anything that I think is related on my development machine and I can still reach the internet from the development machine. I'm sort of at a loss figuring out how to start debugging this. Is it possible that my ISP is blocking the AVD? Is there anything different about the HTTP traffic that originates on the AVD that my ISP might key on?

When I debug in eclipse, although the class B is called from class A, the debbugger pointer never enters the new window, where I have placed a debug point in Class B. I am not able to take the pointer control to class B and stop at a specific point, which will help me verify certain variable values.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI absolutely love the Android OS and even Sense but the dimensions on this phone is killing me. With the iphone I can have the phone in the middle of my palm and be able to reach the power button. Not so with EVO as I have to slide my hand to the side to reach the power button and slide it again to reach the swipe to unlock. Kinda sucks as I wanted to really keep this phone even with the screen coming up issue everyone is having.
According to my golf grip measurements I have standard man's hands, so is people reaching the button and swiping without having to slide there hands?

Now I have my phone connected with Work exchange and a lot of emails are confidential, which is the reason, why I have set password on my lockscreen, to prevent anyone getting into my phone in case I would loose it.
These two wifi networks, are however very safe place for me, and place where I use my phone the most, and typing in the password every moment when I need to access my phone is not effective, and can get quiet frustrating.
The idea was, that the phone would automatically switch off the password protection, if connected to one of those networks, and when in out of reach from those networks, phone would again required password to type in order to access it.

I just rooted my hero last night and threw on CM6, let me say, much better than 2.1 I have a quick question though, i downloaded "setcpu" last night, and it will only let me go to 691mhz overclock, and as of right now my phone can ALMOST play psx4 droid, im running around 10 fps, and i need help figure out how to reach a Higher overclock to help out my fps....even if im wrong, can u still let me know how?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was wondering how they actually reach their max speed? If you have a kernal that has 250, 600, 800, 1000, 1200. Does it start at 250 then go 600, 800, 1000, then finally hit 1200? Or does it jump to the necessary speed that your using (like start at 250 then it could go to 1000 then 1200)? Because if it has to go through each speed to get to its max, then a kernal with 5 different ones would be much better than 10 wouldn't it? I've never seen this question asked before, so does anyone know how they actually get up to their max?
Just so everyone knows I'm rooted and running overclock of 1200.. I have it set up. Just want to know how it works.
It was fine, but the issue suddenly appears yesterday, when I drag the menu screen upward, it can't hit the top but leave a blue bar on top of the screen.

I press the voice input button and receive the "Speak now" prompt I say what I want to say then it goes to "Processing" followed by the error message "Unable to reach the server". I do not get this error when I use the voice search app for google searches.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been messing around with C2DM and have a nice little app working perfectly in the Emulator. I send a message from my app server to Google's C2DM servers, the message will arrive on the emulator and my app would respond appropriately.
My problem now is running the app on my smartphone (a Nexus One). The app runs fine and registers for C2DM with Google and then forwards it's rego ID to my application server. This is all working as expected. Problem is, when I send a message from my app server to the phone, my app never receives the message. After some investigation I found out
that the message reaches the phone, but the C2DM subsystem seems to be forwarding the message to the Google Talk app and not MY app.
Has anyone seen this behavior before? Can anyone give hints on what to look for to solve this? I was assuming that if the registration messages where forwarded to my app, then everything else should be as well.
I don't know how to position the progress dialog(the one with the rotating image). When my application starts its display an full screen image and a progress dialog box. I need to moved the progress dialog box a little lower.

For the last 3-4 days I have been able to access the vzw software update server (settings/about phone/software update) - whenever I do this I get the droid version of the endless hourglass and it never connects to the server to return the usual message that "your software is up to date" (or in fantasy-world, "froyo is ready for you to install, you lucky phone owner, press a button..."
This did NOT occur after I rooted the phone and seems to be unrelated to anything I did. I do not have any frozen or removed apps and apart from the rooting and few assorted root related apps, I am not doing anything that would affect this function (to my knowledge).
I have a ZEN ultrafone 701 HD (MTK 6589) device with HD screen.
Things were going fine when this Fine day I got a bright idea to change ROM.
I have a rooted Phone with working CWM, so went into recovery and cleared data/cache/dalvik cache,battery log etc.
Then I did a epic goof up by clicking on the ROM file of a different device to install as ZIP from CWM . by the time i realized, it was too late Now the phone boots up, shows logo and reboots,again and again. a previously working key combination to bring diagnostic mode is now not working.
The phone starts up and reboots so fast the PC cannot detect the device in adb mode. perfect aint it ?
