HTC Hero :: Web Browser - Google Homepage Not Opened Correctly
Apr 7, 2010I've had the hero for about a month now, great phone but today some issues arose. When I launch the browser, my home page is google. However it google now loads in Spanish and none of the links will work (thee get highlighted but doesn't take me any where). The same is true for any of my bookmarks, the site loads but is missing images etc., seems to be all text etc., and none of the links work. I've already cleared everything, cache, history passwords etc., and even tried inputting new sites and tried loading them, same scenario, site loads but no images, format is different and links don't work. All other apps work, gmail, calendar etc.

Feb 9, 2010I want to use HttpPost over https/ssl. I get 'Not trusted server certificate' error. I've found a lot of posts, seems that many people have similar problems and I've found two suggestions: 1) Change server's certificate. Current certificate is self-signed as localhost.localdomain. Unfortunetly it's not my server and I cannot change the certificate. 2) Use HttpsUrlConnection instead of HttpClient. But I cannot use it because sometimes (when response's code is 401 or 403) I got IOException during getting response code or reading inputstream.
So I've found 3rd solution - use httpclient, when system throws excetpion 'not trusted server certificate' than display warning, inform user that certificate is not trusted and ask if he wants to add this one to the keystore (webbrowser works this way). But I've no idea how to get certificate from the server and add to keystore.

Jan 25, 2010Anyone else experiencing this problem or know of a solution? I have a Digicert signed https certificate that is throwing an SSLException (Not trusted server certificate). This doesn't make any sense as Digicert is a recognized certificate authority. I can connect to my https url without a problem via IE, Firefox, and Safari so they appear to have no issue with the certificate. Here's the code I'm using. Very simple stuff......................

Feb 27, 2013I'm currently trying to write a basic program that can parse json code which is generated by a php file saved on a server. The server is a HTTPS sever and I'm getting the following error.
I know where to get the ssl certificate for the server but even with it installed on my machine (on which i test the code on an emulator) , I still get the following error:
javax.net.ssl.sslexception: not trusted server certificate
Is there any way I can get the app to trust the sever specifically or get the app to trust all servers regardless of certificates.

Jul 15, 2010I have a Small Business 2008 Server at home with Exchange 2007 tied to my RoadRunner account. Setting up my new EVO to use Exchange a month ago was a breeze and I haven't had any problems with it until this morning.
When I turned my phone on, I kept getting a trusted certificate error over and over. I am using a self-signed certificate on my server -- which I thought would give me a problem when I initially configured it, but it didn't. I was expecting to have to install the certificate manually.
After a few minutes, the message went away and I started receiving mail again. I haven't done anything major on the phone that might cause that, like installing an update.

Nov 15, 20091) I cannot get some pages to close after viewing them on the browser. After clicking the X in the top right corner of the page the phone shows the message "stopping" but the page remains on the screen. Only way I can get the page off the screen is to reboot the phone.

HTC Desire :: How To Flash The ROM So That Browser Will Work Correctly
Oct 20, 2010I have Flashed the LeeDrOiD v2.2b ROM and when accessing the Stock browser it will randomly crash, it's a strange crash because normally a crash will mean that you will exit from the browser and next time it will load to the homepage, on mine though it will sort of crash but then load the page I was on, even if it wasn't my homepage, if I had any tabs open I would also lose all of those, which is how I know it's crashing.
This isn't specific to this version of the ROM though as I've had this since v1.4, when I asked in the XDA forums they said it might be to do with re-installing my backed up data, basically I went from Android 2.1 to 2.2 when I Flashed the ROM and they said that backing up data when crossing over Android versions could cause problems.
What I have done this time though is not backup anything, no SMS, no system settings, nothing! I deleted everything off my SD Card, cleared the cache, then cleared the Dalvik cache, did a factory reset, Flashed the ROM and then Flashed the radio but still this problem exists, I haven't backed up anything this time, although when I logged into the Market with my Google account it synced my contacts back onto my phone, as they're linked to my Google account somehow.
This is really starting to annoy me now but I can't figure out for the life of me why it happens, I've tried replicating it to narrow down the cause but I can make it happen one time doing it a certain way but then doing it that way again it'll be fine.
Has anyone got any ideas of how I can overcome this problem or how to Flash the ROM so that my browser will work correctly, this browser problem is the only problem I have with the ROM, apart from that it is superb.
Any help very much appreciated!
EDIT: Also, the browser can crash whether I'm connected to a data plan/Wi-Fi or not!

I first published the packet using eclipse, right click export, creating a keystore then publishing, however it refuses to work.
I then downloaded the keytool and jarsigner and used them to sign an upgrade which I posted instead. However this gives the same error.
And since I cannot delete the application I cannot try and start again,

The display remains stationary when I slowly rotate from North around 360deg.
When I move the phone vertically from the horizon upwards, the constellations change,as expected.
GPS is enabled and gives my correct location when Sky Map starts.
Has anyone, any suggestions. I am an astronomer, and bought my Hero because of this application.

This same exact thing popped up in google maps when i first opened it after flashing to smoked glass v6. but it worked fine. this time though it just made me reinstall google maps and it will not install. whats going on?

Whether I change, add, or delete, on the pc/laptop or mobile phone, these changes are not reflected on the other media. The Calendar still syncs okay between the phone and pc/laptop. Oct 21, 2010I'm having problems with Google Calendar not syncing event reminders correctly. I am wondering if it is just me or is there a glitch with Google.
When I set up a 1 time event on Google Calendar online (not on the DInc) and set a reminder, it sync's the reminder correctly to the HTC Droid Calendar. But if I set up a reminder on a recurring event, the recurring event syncs to HTC Droid Calendar, but the reminder is deleted on the phone.
When I use Google Calendar Sync to sync with Outlook 2007, with some events the reminders will sync correctly and others the reminder will be deleted on Outlook. Some recurring events sync the reminder, some do not.

Aug 26, 2013This appears to be affect multiple brands and models. About a 3-4 days ago it started deleting previous sentences or phrases and only leaving the most recent phrase you spoke minus the last word. Long delays as well. As mentioned, it is affecting multiple phones based on other comments throughout internet. Very frustrating!
Initially I thought it was related to the recent Maps update, but rolled back to older version and no change. Not sure about the recent change for Google Voice to Hangouts, but that seems like a possibility . .

Aug 23, 2013I have a Samsung Galaxy Centura and I'm using Go SMS Pro and SwiftKey.
Starting today, when I try to text using the voice to text feature, every time I start a new sentence, the previous sentence disappears. This has never happened to me before. I tried repeatedly, to the point I was cursing, and now it is also blocking out offensive words also. I went to Language and Input > Google Voice Typing and made sure Block offensive words is not checked.

Oct 3, 2010I have the default home page for the app, and let's say for example I start to type facebook. Under where I type it comes up with the usual predictions, like facebook login, facebook news, etc. But the top one is usually a link to the exact URL (in this case to facebook) but whenever I click one of those links, I get a page that says:
"Server Error
404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."
Is there anyway to get these links to work? Or get rid of them all together so I don't accidentally click them.
HTC Hero :: Browser Forbidden Error
Feb 7, 2010Lately, more and more I'm having errors in my browser where if I try to go to any sites, I get a "Forbidden" on a white background.
It just happens at random times, and once that happens I can't load any pages until I reset my phone.
It's not the data or the internet, because it keeps chugging along my push e-mail, and the facebook app wills till work and whatnot.
I initially thought it was the browser, and downloaded the dolphin browser, but it gets the same thing too.
Does anyone else get this? I'm assuming it's the phone issue and not the carrier, because I'm still getting data (in other apps) but I find it weird that both browsers does this.
OMG, when is this fricken 2.1 update coming? My hero needs these bugs squashed and ability to get new apps!
