I just got a Android Phone , is there anyone can recommend me a free Android Software of Android phone . I really need it to manage my photos , music, videos , contacts, message, calendar... and so on. once we get root and install the recovery tool, we'll never have to go through the loop process again to get into recovery. I feel like that's a major newb question but just wanted to make sure. If that's the case, can somebody list or point me to the procedure to do the wireless N hack using the recovery tool? Just read in the thread below how some users might be having problems with wireless teather after doing the "N" hack. If this is the case, perhaps it's best to skip it altogether.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was looking for a Windows based tool that can make a complete backup image of my SD card (just didn't want to lose 13gb worth of photos and music). I tried the native Windows backup program, Ghost, and just about every other backup solution with no luck. I did run into a free program called "USB Image Tool" and it does just what I need. Once you mount your SD card on your phone, this little program will allow you to create an IMG image and also has restore functions. It is located at:

View 3 Replies View RelatedI used the recovery mode first time - it worked, second time playing with NoBloat - it gets stuck in boot screen.I can go to the recovery mode menu, both chinese and english, can do a full clear cache, data, format, but phone still won't boot.
I can use ADB shell, but Smart phone flash tool does not recognize phone, MTK droid tool recognizes it, but I can't backup it.
I read epub on both my phone and tablet (htc sensation, soon replace by S3, and my asus TFP). It's pretty hard to find a good app for reading epub.I want to sync all my book, bookmarks, notes between my devide.I've tried:
moon reader (lot of lag when turning pages, and don't like to use dropbox, i don't have an account)
aldiko (no turning pages effect, no sync)
kobo (needs a account)

google books (not available in France, can't import epub file)

Mantano had a service for syncing but It's really lame to having me paid just for that.So, at the end, I'm looking for an app with:

I am currently doing it via an FTP Server app, but the big draw back is that it relies on internet upload speeds rather than using a LAN share, so it ends up being a lot slower than USB. I've tried ES File manager as that as LAN connectivity, but I couldn't get it working with my Mac.
On my Nokia N82, there was an app I used to use for this purpose called SymSMB (SymSMB for S60 3rd & 5th Edition by Telexy Networks :: Symbian software @ My-Symbian.com). What this did is allow my Mac too mount the entire SD card (or any folder of choice) from my N82 as a shared folder on my Mac, which was brilliant. Basically like accessing a shared folder on one computer from another. Is there an app that does this on Android?
I tried getting my new HTC Magic to work with my Tom Tom Sat Nav, the basics worked fine but then I got this message. Your phone needs to support Wireless Data Connection (Dun) Capabilities to use TomTom Plus Services. Can this be done soon? Its broadcasting that it made an available wireless access point, but when I try to connect to it nothing happens. My computer wont link up to it. I know my WiFi card works because I have a working wireless access point where I live that I use every day with no issues. Its like my laptop sees the network, but wont associate with it. I tried using barnacle and it did the exact same thing.

im not sure if this is a repost or if everyone already knows this but this is a very awesome tip. when i hard reset the phone and went to the market, i clicked "my downloads" and my apps that i had b4 were all listed and they said "free", (which meant i had to redownload). so it keeps your history according to your intial google sign in on the phone. ive hard reset bout 3 times just so i lower my market "MB". im at 3mb on my market and 50mb free of memory. i also have 67 apps installed. i highly recommend to hard reset your phone every now and then. it gives you so much more memory when you go and reinstall all your previous apps from "my downloads" section of the market. plus your contacts all sync to your gmail so you dont even have to worry bout losing any contacts. trust me, it really makes a difference in performance after the phone frees up that much memory. b4 i first did it i had like 27mb in my market and like 45 apps with 10mb of free mem on my phone. man did that suck. every time you go in the market or even when you uninstall an app it will still be eating your memory. try it out and leave some feed back. its really harmless. the only thing is that you will have to set your settings on some apps to how it was pre hard reset. for example, missed call, scoreboard, weather channel, and more. but its really worth it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone (htc desire) kept saying low on phone storage and I assumed this meant the memory card (originally 4gb) so I purchased an 8gb sd card and put it in my phone, however the same message popped up low on phone storage. I now realise that its the memory storage thats low and not the sd card. Is there are way of moving my apps etc., on to the sd card rather than using the phone memory? If this isn't possible is there any other way of getting around the low phone storage problem?
