I just downloaded the Dolphin Browser and every time I go to Facebook it loads the touch version and I want it to load the normal one is there a way to change this?

I am almost able to log in to it, but then it asks me for my birthday because I'm not browsing from a "familiar location". So I select my correct birth date from the drop-down menus, but the Login button stays grayed out for some reason and I can't go any further. Has anyone else had any success?My reason for wanting this is so I can access the actual Notifications page. The way I currently have it set up, I get an e-mail notification in Gmail. Then when I click the link in the e-mail for whatever update it's supposed to take me to, it just takes me to the homepage of Facebook Mobile. Then sometimes it won't even list the New Notifications link. This makes it very inconvenient if I want to go find where to reply to a comment or something. I have to know exactly where it is, which is difficult if it's not recent.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt seems after the device has been running for a day or two, the Internet browser will cease to fully load web pages. The load bar will get to some point and stop and the page never fully loads. No other web based apps are affected. At first I would restart the device and that, of course, would fix it. Lately I ended up just force stopping the browser and that fixed it as well.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm writing an application which connects to a back office site. The backoffice site contains a whole slew of JavaScript functions, at least 100 times the average site. Unfortunately it does not load them, and causes much of the functionality to not work properly. So I am running a test. I put a page out on my server which loads the FireBugLite javascript text. Its a lot of javascript and perfect to test and see if the Android WebView will load it. The WebView loads nothing, but the browser loads the Firebug Icon. What on earth would make the difference, why can it run in the browser and not in my WebView? Any suggestions.
More background information, in order to get the stinking backoffice application available on a Droid (or any other platform except windows) I needed to trick the bakcoffice application to believe what's accessing the website is Internet Explorer. I do this by modifying the WebView User Agent.Also for this application I've slimmed my landing page, so I could give you the source to offer me aid. package ksc.myKMB;

I already have JavaScript on the web browser on, the problem is the web view is acting to different from the web browser.
How can i make it so i view my facebook notifications in my facebook app? I dont want to keep going in-between the facebook app and my browser to check every single one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAside from the obvious matter of the Android app not being as complete as the iPhone equivalent, I was wondering if anybody had experienced the following on both the app and Facebook Touch.
Updates seem fairly random on the live feed. Eg. I will scroll through some updates, but when I refresh, some updates appear which didn't appear originally. I am not referring to new posts or updates, but updates which are sandwiched between updates which were there previously.
I hope that makes sense?
I've tried editing the options at the bottom of the feed on the full Facebook site to enable more updates be shown, but it doesn't seem to make a difference on the handset.
I'm on an Incredible, and with all the horror stories of the Facebook app going on, I'm wondering if it'd be in my best interest to just shut off the sync on that thing and scrap the widget in favor of simply using the FB bookmark.

One that actually alerts you when there are new comments, notifications, messages, etc... It really sucks you have to go in manually and refresh to see what notifications you have rather than it just telling you when you do like the blackberry version does.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an HTML/Javascript mobile web application using Dashcode. Normally I wouldn't use such WYSIWYG stuff, but I've found it a very rapid development process.
Unfortunately it seems like I can't get it to run on Android's browser currently. The main display loads and all the correct data is pulled from web services, but you cannot press on anything to activate it.
I suspect that the android browser is sending different javascript events, which the Dashcode objects are not configured to pick up.
In addition, the adb logcat debugger refuses to output any log messages from the browser on the emulator, and as such I'm having a very hard time sorting this out.
What events I need to be watching for, so I can iterate over all the touch handlers and duplicate them for the android events, or offer help in any other way on this situation?
There's a new version of Facebook available on the Market, but because the Desire comes with the official Facebook app already installed it doesn't prompt you to update it.When you click to install the version on the Market, the phone is clever enough detect the preinstalled one and applies it as an update, so you don't end up with two Facebook apps in the phone menu or Manage Apps menu. After installing it the Manage Apps option changes from 'Clear data' to 'Uninstall updates' and the version has gone from 114 to 121. You'll also notice that the 'Take photo' tile has now been replaced with 'Inbox'. There's still no option to tag people in images.
View 49 Replies View RelatedSay you are fully zoomed out on some internet page and you see a text field....you touch the text box to type in it. Instead of allowing you to type, it zooms in on the text box. Why? And sometimes, actually most of the time, it zooms in to the wrong area and I have to scroll around to find the text box I was going to type in. So, can I turn off that particular zoom feature? Or can the zoom feature be made accurate....because most of the time it is not accurate at all and the zoom completely misses the text box.

Stock, Dolphin HD, Opera and Skyfire all look a little sluggish compared xScope. Throughout most of the other threads suggesting apps and browsers I rarely saw this one get more than a cursory mention, so I thought it would be nice to point everyone towards another option. I'm currently using the lite version, but I'm more than likely going to pony up for the paid to help out the developer and unlock some features.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI finally installed bugless beast 7.4 and really like it. I like the multi touch in all the applications but I found that I miss having the zoom buttons in the browser. I like the multi touch for fine zoom control but I like just hitting the zoom button and it automatically fits the text to the screen. Does anyone know of a way to have both? I know you can double tap the screen but I find I like the button better.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to www.touch.facebook.com, the default view is the news feed. When you click on the news button, it changes to live feed. However, after I comment on someone's status or picture, etc, and then I click the back arrow to go back to the live feed, it defaults back to news feed. Also, if I am on live feed and click on the home button, it again defaults to news feed. Is there a way to permanently keep live feed on all the time?

Well, check your Market Downloads. There is finally an update available. I've only played with it for a few minutes but it seems to be a BIG improvement.
Finally updated to Froyo last night and see that the facebook version is still 1.2, whereas the current version on the market is 1.3.2. Assume this is in the T-Mobile rom, but is there any way to uninstall it? Or if I install the current version will it go over the top (or will I end up with two versions?)
