I'm currently having some issues with my S4 mini, as stated in the title, the phone does not save messages or calls. I can still send and call, but nothing is ever recorded.
At the same time this started to occur my play store stopped working, just getting the "no connection, Reconnect"
I am using the stock app from samsung for calls and messages. Factory reset is something i would like to avoid.
Seems that what I am about to describe has plagued Droid Incredible users (post from another Android forum). Hoping someone using an Evo on Sprint can share some insight and/or solutions to the issue.
At least twice in the past couple months, all of my text messages (several thousand within dozens of conversation threads) have suddenly disappeared without warning. It basically happens like this: I check or send some texts, check something else on my phone like my email or calender or other routine function, then go back within moments to check or send another text and just like that, my entire text message history is EMPTY. Talk about frustrating!
I have doubled checked my settings and have nothing set that would cause older messages to be purged. Anyone know what may cause this and how to prevent it from happening again? BTW, I also had all my favs as identified in my favs widget totally disappear once (had to re-select each one again). Not sure if this is related, but I thought I mention it.
I use Handcent as my SMS program. I try to delete all threads (I have test history) and it doesn't take effect. All threads are still there after it asks me. I have cleared data and cache's on both the stock and Handcent apps in my app manager. When trying to delete all threads with my stock program, my phone typically freezes up and forces close. Anyone have similiar experiences, have answers? I even uninstalled Handcent thinking that would clear everything, re-installed and everything was still there.

I just got my first text with a picture since getting this phone last week. In the message, it says "slideshow" and when I click on the "picture", it gives me three icons at the bottom. The far right icon allows me to "save" the picture, but I don't know where it's saving it to, if at all.

I want to add some custom ringtones. Ringdroid and Ring Extender both do a nice job, but you need to have the song in order to make a ringtone. I have downloaded ringtones that came as MP3 attachments to a text message.But, I cannot figure out how to save those MP3's. There's no media icon I can click and hold. If I try menu while it's playing - it just backs me out of it, and if I try menu before playing it I just get the usual SMS reply options.

I was clueless about the use of XML except its use with databases and did a little research on the web but can't seem to figure out how to use it or convert it into a useful form for me. However, I would like to export the text messages, into CSV format or similar. Any readable format would do. I have always done this with my Nokia phones before. Does anyone know a way to do this? View 4 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThere are a couple of options within the browser I didn't find until after searching for it, so I thought I would share it with the rest of the community in order to help out.
-Everyone should clear the browser cache and previous history in order to save internal phone memory. To do this go to BROWSER press the MENU button and press MORE. There should be a list of things in there but what you should be interested in is the last item which is SETTINGS. From there in privacy settings there will be options to clear both cache and history.
- Another little tip I wanted to share was viewing webpages in landscape mode without opening your keyboard. To do this simply press the MENU button from within the BROWSER and go down to FLIP ORIENTATION. You should realize tho by doing this you browser will continue to be in landscape the next time it's used. In order to return it to it's normal portrait mode just follow these steps once again.
-There are a number of other things you can mess around with or find with the MENU button within the browser so just take a look at it yourself even if you don't want to do any of these tips.
I'm having problems saving contacts. I have a number in my call history that wont save to contacts, when I save the contact to google contacts it stays in the people list for a few minutes then a few minutes later it disappears.
