I just placed a sight-unseen order for a Droid Incredible from Verizon...I'm guess that when browsing the web, you can use the built in virtual keyboard to type in user names, passwords, and suchlike when you are on a website that asks for such...?
When doing so, how much of the webpage do you see? A screen photo showing a webpage with blanks to be filled in and showing the keyboard would be useful.

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'

- Added option to disable notification icon
-' start on boot' feature is disabled because it's not yet complete and tested... Sorry for the confusion
Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.

However, there is a bug in my code (sometimes the notifications are set, sometimes they are not). I want to be able TO CHECK (in the code) IF THE NOTIFICATION IS VISIBLE TO THE USER. (i.e. can the user see the notification in the status bar?).
How can I do this?

I want to know if I can make web pages appear larger on the screen when I'm using an internet browser. Before the 2.1 update I never had an issue seeing something but now I have to turn it vertical and squint really hard to see web pages, then pray I hit the right link b/c it's so small. I just want to increase my view but the options I've tried under settings must not be the right thing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got an Eris today. I am happy with the phone in general, but I did not realize how much I may want a keyboard with a smart phone. I may go back and get the Motorola version tomorrow.
My only concern is I do not know how to turn off getting the mobile versions of web pages as the default on the Motorola Droid. There is an option to turn off getting mobile versions of web pages as the default on the Eris, but I could not find it on the Motorola version. If I am getting a fast phone with a good browser, I want the full version of web pages-not scaled down mobile versions. Can I change that option on the Motorola?

View 22 Replies View RelatedAlright, I went to a website that I was directed to go to. I had no problem viewing the main page, but when I click on a tab from the home page, it opens up that over top of the home page, like an overlay. I have no problem seeing this either. The problem is when I try to scroll on the overlay, I get these black boxes that surround the overlay and then it locks up and kicks me out of the browser or reboots my phone. I tried messing with the browser setting but that didn't help. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Let me just get this out of the way first and say WOW what an awesome phone this thing rocks the casba better than any blackberry I've ever owned.Ok now that I've got that out of the way here is my deli-ma and if this has been posted and answered before please forgive me as I did conduct a search prior to this I just couldn't find a thread that related to my scenario.Ok so I work for a huge IT company and when I was on the BB I had a rule setup with my BB desktop manager that any emails that came through with the word PAGEME in the body to forward that email to my phone as a level 1 message and cause my phone to explode in the process. (btw the PAGEME was added by our BES so that will no longer be an option for a filter) so what I was wondering is this, is there a way with this phone that I can setup a similar rule whether it is something that I have to configure on the phone itself or in say Outlook with a exchange rule. Whatever be the case I am open to anything all that matters is that we can make the phone do some god awful sound when a page comes in so that way I can at least assure that my phone will at least wake my wife up so she can kick me and wake me up . The positive thing is that the page will only be sent to me so whatever rule we'll be creating will be specific to me being the only recipient. And yes the page does come through as a email. I can change the pager address to be mynumber@vtext.com thats not a problem but I'd rather leave it going to my regular email that way I get the full page instead of just the first 160 characters.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFor those who have tried to sync up to their work exchange server that requires a downloaded pin from the respective server has probably noticed that this is unable to accomplish using the native Eris app. I was told to download Touchdown, but I have a problem paying for something Eris should have done in the first place. Any other free apps out there or is the Eris update supposed to fix this?

But one day, after I bought a new laptop, it would not recognize that my droid was connected. So I did some research and one solution I saw was to disable debugging, I did and that and it worked. But now I cannot run any adb commands(error: device not found). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the usb drivers but still that didn't fix the problem.

I can access it just fine when I am on the companies Wi-Fi (both OWA and Active sync), but when I try to connect from the internet, I cannot see either. Odd thing is that if I use Opera Mini 5 Beta on my Droid, I can connect to OWA, but the default browser wont allow it. My Iphone is working fine on both networks, so I know the system is working properly.

I was in the IRC room the other day, and was told by a couple of users that they had tried a few things and it wasn't possible.
Then today I was playing around the forums and Disabled SenseUI to check out the Android Home, for shits and giggles no attempt to keep it.
I set a background in Home, which spanned all 3 Home pages... when scrolling thru it actually looked like you were moving along a Image 3x the width of one screen.
When I went back to SenseUI.... that same background was there on all 6 pages no copies at all.....
Any1 kno how to make our on like this and install it on the phone? What would the resolution be on one page or multiple pages?
long time reader, first time poster here. i just came from the HTC incredible where the browser was super fast.. and for some reason it seems extremely slow on the X, i am literally waiting and counting Mississippi's for the pages to load.. does anyone out there have the same problem? and if so.. what is the solution.
