HTC Incredible :: Default Live Feed On Touch.facebook.com
Aug 18, 2010
When I go to www.touch.facebook.com, the default view is the news feed. When you click on the news button, it changes to live feed. However, after I comment on someone's status or picture, etc, and then I click the back arrow to go back to the live feed, it defaults back to news feed. Also, if I am on live feed and click on the home button, it again defaults to news feed. Is there a way to permanently keep live feed on all the time?

When I purchased my droid a month ago, all the pics on facebook for the live/news feed were showing up perfectly. About 2 weeks ago, none of the pictures display. They only have a "x" next to the update. At the bottom of my profile page, there is an option that shows: Photos: Off - On - Max. The setting is set to On.

I'm sure this isn't news to any of you veterans, but this is my first android device so please bare with me. I'm using the facebook app and have noticed that neither the app itself or the widget show the actual facebook live feed or provide a way to access it....
Of course my next thought was "well what if I just use the facebook page in a browser window". Turns out that's not as simple as I thought! Apparently facebook not only has a mobile page, it also has a "touch" page that it likes to route you to. Neither the mobile or the touch facebook pages have a way to access the live feed either....

I'm trying to setup my Dinc to view evocam via my mac. I haven't been able to find an application that can view them.
It gives me a: HTTP:// 192. address, but most of the apps that i've found won't let you view it.

What is "home" or "cover feed?"
I was trying to remove all the damn Facebook birthday's from my Google Calendar on my Galaxy S3. When I finally managed to do that, I now have a new app called "cover feed" and something called "Home" displaying stuff from Facebook on my lock screen!!!!
How do I get rid of this? I didn't download it, or okay it, or turn it on via my settings and now it's just making unnecessary steps every time I want to unlock my phone.

Aside from the obvious matter of the Android app not being as complete as the iPhone equivalent, I was wondering if anybody had experienced the following on both the app and Facebook Touch.
Updates seem fairly random on the live feed. Eg. I will scroll through some updates, but when I refresh, some updates appear which didn't appear originally. I am not referring to new posts or updates, but updates which are sandwiched between updates which were there previously.
I hope that makes sense?
I've tried editing the options at the bottom of the feed on the full Facebook site to enable more updates be shown, but it doesn't seem to make a difference on the handset.

I'm on an Incredible, and with all the horror stories of the Facebook app going on, I'm wondering if it'd be in my best interest to just shut off the sync on that thing and scrap the widget in favor of simply using the FB bookmark.

I am trying to enable users who have linked their Facebook account to be able to post to their wall with one button press as detailed in their docs. Specifically, I do not want to use the .dialog methods provided in the Facebook for Android library, as I want the Publish process to be as seamless as possible. The specific call looks like this in an HTTP client simulator: HTTP POST https://graph.facebook.com/me/feed Content-type: application/x- www-form-urlencoded access_token=&link=http://mylink.com/id/1326&name=What do you think?&description=Description of the link This call runs successfully in HTTP Client on OS X. I originally tried using the Facebook for Android library's .dialog function with "stream.publish" action, but this causes the unwanted dialog to appear. Next, I tried using Facebook for Android's .request function with "POST" parameter, but this function assumes that the body is a byte array and fails in multiple places in the library. Now, I am trying to use the Apache HTTP stack included with Android.Specifically, my code looks like this: String url = "https://graph.facebook .com /me/feed"; ArrayList<NameValuePair> pairs = new ArrayList<NameValuePair>(4); pairs.add(new BasicNameValuePair("access_token", App.facebook.getAccessToken()));pairs.add(new BasicNameValuePair("link", "http://mylink.com/id/"+id)); pairs.add(new BasicName ValuePair("name", question)); pairs.add(new BasicNameValuePair("description", description));The problem is that the response from Facebook is consistently the following: {"error":{"type":"OAuthException","message":"Invalid OAuth access token."}}I know the OAuth access token is not invalid. When I paste the same OAuth access token into HTTP Client, it works like a champ. It seems that creating the HttpPost object's parameters is garbling the complex OAuth access token in some way. Does anyone have suggestions on how to proceed?

Anyone got a desire from vodafone (as opposed to on vodafone from the like of carphonewarehouse)? Would be keen to know to what extent they have buggered up the software. 18months down the line im still irritated by the "vodafone live" they put on c905. Happy enough with the voda network but might just ship if they have messed up the default software and "over branded" it...

Just in case anyone's missed the Facebook Live announcement, the most interesting thing for me so far has been the updated Android App.It's live in the Android Market now, if it doesn't show up straight away, go to Settings - Applications - Market - Force Stop & Clear Cache then look again.Apologies if this has already been posted, I looked in a couple of boards and couldn't see anything.

Okay so here is another strange thing I noticed with the update.2 of the 3 phones that got the update now have a little home icon on the bottom of one of the touchwiz screens when you are in the edit mode. This page with the home icon can now be moved to whereever you want it in the positioning of the 1-7 screens you have and when you click on the "home" key at the very bottom it will go to that screen. Previously there was no home key and your home screen was either the middle or far left screen depending on the number of screens you had.

I've found some other threads discussing the fact that the default shortcut for Facebook is actually just a shortcut to a browser bookmark for Facebook. If you delete this shortcut, you can re-create it, but it has a boring red flag icon. With a custom bookmark app, you could restore this original icon... but only if you know where to find it. Where is that icon stored? It has to be somewhere on the root of the phone. Using root explorer, I can't find it. I'm guessing it's stored inside of an archive somewhere. Any ways to search more thoroughly?
Related: can I somehow use my PC (Windows explorer) to browse the root of the phone?
Or, can I find it somewhere in the original .tar file containing the flash update for the phone?
(running rooted 2.1 DD10, FWIW).

I have my Google contacts linked to their applicable Facebook contacts. I don't like that, when the names are different, it defaults to listing the contact under Facebook name. That means that it is no longer possible to search by Google contact name from within the phone application.
Anyone know if there is some way to override this?

So, somehow I accidentally installed the Facebook app in the Android market, which overwrote my Facebook HTC app that came built in. Did I screw anything up? AppBrain told me to upgrade it (HTC version), and upgraded to market version. Is there a difference? Should I care? Is there a way to undo what I have done? Seems like AppBrain has a bug in there, so be warned! Or it is just me being clueless, I suppose.

Is there a way to make it so that the facebook contacts, etc, don't show up in your default contact list? I just want to show the names and phone numbers of the people that I have actually programmed into my phone, not everyone that I have on facebook.
