My friend has an app on his iphone where he takes a picture and sends it to a random person and he recieves a random picture in return, does something similar exist?

Well, I'm gonna have to return it. Don't worry, I'll still be getting another My battery life hasn't been as great as everybody mentioned, my phone suffers from random reboots (nothing helped, i tried it all), and now I noticed my camera has 4 stuck pixels. Not so bad in Camera mode, but a lot more prominent in Camcorder mode. So how should I do it? I purchased it in store at a VZW. So am I restricted just to that, or can I call VZW? Which route would be better? Anything I should know about beforehand?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI like using Google play music but the application has been changing my album art around and i cant figure out how to change it back.I saved a picture to my external SD card and Google music decided to tag all the Unknown Artists with the picture, but it only seems to show up in Google Music.
I have multiple media players installed and only some of them recognize the art and display it.I have tried editing the tags but its like the images are not there like since the image was in the forlder it pretty much overwrote things.I have cleared the cache and data for google music rebooted my device with no luck.What are my options at this point to get this picture out the tags and off my phone.
I am having a heck of a time getting any pictures and many downloaded wallpapers to show up on my HTC Incredible. After I set the picture or whatever and crop it, I return to the home screen and the Colorful Bubble HTC Wallpaper always shows up instead, only the live wallpaper really works all the time. Anyone else have the same problem or know a solution?

I am thinking to create a static method to return a reference to the application instance. I am not sure if it is safe to assume there is only one instance of the Application in one application. Apparently, the Application class in Android SDK doesn't provide such method to return the instance reference. So I suspect there must be a reason?

Here is the trace. Launched app
It received onCreate and the other expected on calls for a launch. Now, leave application with the home button and it receives onSaveInstanceState onPause onStop
And returns to the main Android screen (the one with Google Search at the top) Launch the app again and it receives onCreate onStart onResume
The docs say onCreate is Called when the activity is first created. But here it is never destroyed but created again. There are many objects that never got GCed because the app was not onDestroyed?
Is this a memory leak? What have I missed? Or should I assume that onCreate can be recalled for an already created app.

View 5 Replies View Relatedwhy a picture taking application works on some phones and not on others? The app was tested with the 1.1 emulator and the 1.0 developer phone. Some customers reported that they could not find the resulting pictures using the Picture application after they powered off the phone and powered it back on to cause a new media scan. Others find them just fine (in the dcim/camera directory). Are there any known conflicts for applications taking pictures? The only other thing I can think of is that the developer phone, currently at 1.0, will function differently at 1.1, however, the app works on the 1.1 version of the emulator.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe application I have uploaded into my cellular device is shown without the pictures I have insert to it. While the APK runs without problems on emulator when installed on Motorola milestone picture and icon doesn't shown as they were on emulator.
Steps I have done in order to install:
- I have inserted the xxx.apk file into the device via usb
- I downloaded an apps installer via the Market
- I opened the app using the installer and instead of picture an white background appeared
when I opened the xxx.apk file using file system I found the pictures.
Note: even an application icon weren't appearing. Apparently the res library having problem to be bined to application.
- I might need to add something to my appliction manifest?
- I might need to change something on my device ? (I already made a change and enabled user's not Market application).
I also tried an example as shown in hello android book the same example worked perfectly on the emulator where on my android device (Motorola milestone) the picture and icon weren't shown. Please tell me what I might be doing wrong guys I need to apply my project back at uni (I was the only one in uni who did it on android and in my country most of pep don't even know what android is so getting help outside of forum's like this is not an option).
I've had my Incredible since 4/28, and everything has been working smoothly up until about last Thursday night when it just restarted out of the blue while I was listening to music. Then right after it booted up, it restarted again, then again about seven more times. I got fed up and took out the SD card and it seemed to stop after that, so I haven't put the SD card back in since then.
Just now, Wednesday, about a week later, I was browsing around on the internet and all of a sudden, it restarted, and then again, and again, and again. I've read that it is because of poor signal strength or something like that so I had just enough time to put it in airplane mode before it restarted again.
Side note, that theory about it being caused by poor signal seems to make sense because the first time it happened to me I was out of town in a city that gets very bad coverage with Verizon, and now today when it started happening again was at my house where for some reason I get very bad service with the incredible, my old phone worked perfectly fine in my house but the incredible gets terrible service, and so does my brother's Droid. In fact, about two weeks ago I got my first dropped call on Verizon in about three years, and it was in my house.
So anyways, I decided to put it in airplane mode, and just after I put it in airplane mode it restarted again. Then when it booted back up my Helix Launcher 2 home screen went back to the standard Helix Launcher 2 icons, I go into my messages and everything is gone, my contacts are all gone, everything is gone. I go to the app menu and all my apps are still there, but when I start up an app, all the custom settings are default now. I went into the settings and my accounts are all still there. I click on internet and I get a terms of service agreement, it's as if I am booting it up for the first time, but for some reason my apps and accounts are all still there.
I turn airplane mode off thinking it might have something to do with it not being connected to my google account, and I restart it again and everything is still gone. I don't know what to do, has this happened to anyone before? I feel like there should be a way for me to get this stuff back since my apps are still there and my accounts are still synced, but random things are missing like my contacts and messages etc. This is really starting to get annoying, I have insurance and everything, but I really don't want to exchange it for another one because I've read that other people who have had there phones replaced have still had the same rebooting problem, even after going through multiple replacements.
I can send MMS messages perfectly fine, but if someone tries to send me one I get nothing. No notification or any way of knowing I didn't get it unless someone tells me they tried to send me one.
I see in the GO SMS settings the MMS part is in Red, but there don't appear to be any settings to resolve the issue.
I manually updated my motorola droid to android 2.2 FRG01B, will I be able to receive the OTA update for FRG22D?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible paired easily with my Toyota car bluetooth and works great, however. . . . everytime the phone sends or receives data (incoming text or email or looking at the internet or answering a text) it mutes the stereo for a couple seconds. It is as if the phone is preparing to make a call. Anyone have any ideas what is going on here? (of course, I'm only looking at the phone while stopped at a traffic light.)

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had installed a mobile defense guardian? App the other day, forget if that was the exact name and noticed after that. That I wasn't getting picture messages to show up right away anymore, now it seems like they have to send the same picture 2 or 3 times before it will actually download and I can view it. Wondering if there is some known issue or a fix to get it back to normal and working right again. I'm looking at one now and it just says it's downloading, never leaves that, doesn't show a picture.

In the 2.1 app it simply showed my name and the other persons name; no pic of us next to every text. Is there anyway to disable showing the pics in the 2.2 app? Really don't see the need to have a pic next to each text.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed this same issue with my HTC Hero, and then it seemed to go away. Now I've noticed it again.
The issue is this: I have around 2700 songs on my SD card, all in a folder called Music, and they are arranged, quite logically, by artist and album under that. Unfortunately, when I put the music application on random, it seems to get stuck on 4 or 5 artists (and sometimes within those artists, one particular album) and play those almost exclusively, with only an occasional diversion to some other artist. At one point it was so bad that a. it played one particular song 6 times in a 4 hour period, and b. I got so tired of one of my artists, I deleted it entirely!
So, is this a bug with the built in music player? Is it because of the amount of music I have? Is it because of where my music is stored? Has anyone else had this problem? (Or does Android OS just have an affinity for The Byrds? )
Are there any other music apps I can try? I tried Simply Music, and it did work much better on the randomization, but it hung for a few seconds several times (for no discernable reason) and it is very slow to load.
is there a way to get a contacts picture to show their facebook picture in timescape. I have linked all my contacts with their facebook accounts but it still shows the default white picture. I dont want to have to go through and take pictures of all my contacts. that would just be silly.Apologies if this has been asked before or is a simple fix. I'm new to this smart phone malarchy

View 19 Replies View RelatedI use the backgrounds app, and it lets me save backgrounds to my SD card. I go into Astro/ sdcard/ backgrounds and then click on the picture. It gives me 2 options to open it. "ASTRO Image Viewer" and "View picture". For me to use it as a background I have to pull it up in "View picture", BUT....no matter how many times I try and pull it up that way, it shows me the first picture in my camera album. If I click "ASTRO Image Viewer", I can always see the picture I selected, but under menu, I only have the option to "share" and nothing else. Can you tell me why the selected picture won't show up in "View picture"?
