I have a question about the calendar app. Sorry if this has been raised before.In calendar view you can see the day and the date however if you switch to agenda it shows the date but no longer the day of the week. Is there a switch I can toggle to turn this on or an alternative calendar.Seeing the day of the week is very useful next to the date. Odd that its not included.

I have referred the article (at http://www.developer.com/article.php/3850276 ) for implementing the native calendar control, but i would like to display calendar also on the screen and also User can able to select date, and after selecting date user can also be able to event on that selected date.
So is there any way to display calendar (month view) in Android ?
I'm after a calendar widget that shows day+date in header for today (like standard one) but that shows more than one event - tried Gemini but that doesn't give me the day of week in header..
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn Android 2.1, when I am opening Calendar application, going to Agenda view and from their if I go to Day schedule, that date is shown as "Thursday 01-Jan-1970" in title bar. It is not picking system date.
This is same case for week and Month view. In week schedule it is showing "December 1969 - January 1970" and for Month it display "January 1970" at Calendar title bar. This is happening when I go to day/month/week schedule from Agenda page.
I am not seeing any error in logcat message when wrong date is displayed.

How come when I load up the calendar widget to display on my phone it just shows a small square with no dat or anything? It just says no upcoming events? Does it show the date or is there a widget that does the date etc?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm going to ask a shot version of my question first because, as I was typing out my thorough explanation below, I realized that I had seen a setting that I believe fixes my problem but I cannot remember where it is or how to get to it. In short, the problem I am having is that Non-recurring events (one time appointment) that are in the Google Calendar online are not showing in the Moment calendar app. There was a Settings Page not sure if it was in the main OS menu or the Calendar menu that gave you the option of choosing to show events "before" a certain date and to show events "After" a certain date. You repeatedly tap the two "before" or "after" options and the dates would move further back in time and further forward in time respectively creating a date range.
Non-recurring events, obviously, continue to show for years prior or in the future but Non-recurring one-time events outside of a "range" of a time period do not show. Does Anyone know what the setting I am referring to and how to get back to it?? If not, perhaps my more thorough explanation of my problem and what I am trying to accomplish below might help me find the display before this date/after this date setting that I cannot find again! (longer explanation/description follows below): We have a Moment and an EVO and we are both new to Android but it appears I am only having the problem with our Moment. Though we are new to Android and the gmail sync, I am very comfortable with the sync process and working with Google Calendar online or on the phone and the settings for forcing a sync, choosing which calendars to display, etc. I did some troubleshooting of the problem and this is what I have figure out here goes:
It appears that the calendar on the Moment is only showing recurring events birthdays, anniversaries anything where the event is set to recur some time in the future. However, it DOES make sense and is important to be able to go back to May 2010 and ask,"what day was that appointment with so-and-so company?" and you scroll back in your calendar to see the name of the company or "In February, 2010, did our son or daughter see the doctor? and you scroll back a few months to see that your son and not your daughter went. The Google Calendar online does NOT automatically purge older events, they are all visible online back yearsand years. Why is the Moment "purging"/not displaying non-recurring events on the phone that are in a range of about 1 month old to about to happen in a month?
I want to remove the existing calendar application icon and replace it with a date/time widget over it. The widget now when pressed does nothing but only shows current date and day of week. Can this be done? I have tried other programs but they only seem to allow me change the name of the icon. I tried using any cut and also Launcher.

The dialogue box that appears when I do this shows the date in MM-DD-YYYY format. I've checked all the settings that I can find, and I'm sure they're all set to UK/British. Am I missing something, or is it not possible to change this?

When I set the time to 11:59PM the date changes when the clock changes to 12:00AM when the phone is active but the date does not change when the phone is inactive?

For instance, I have a all day event on the 18th; today is the 16th and it's showing the event as being tomorrow.
Anyone else have this problem and find a fix yet?

I switched recently from a black berry to an Android 2.3 powered device - Samsung Stratosphere on Verizon.
Email invite messages from Outlook for meetings do not show the calendar detail. Specifically, I can not see the date and time of the meeting invitations. I can perform actions to "Accept", "Decline", or Tentative" the meeting invitation. Unfortunately, there isn't any meeting detail so I don't know when the meeting is scheduled.
This is very frustrating and makes the Samsung Stratosphere or possibly the Android platform not fit for corporate environments. If I can not get this to work I will be switching to an iPhone and I will recommend to my entire corporate enterprise that we avoid Android based Smart Devices.
The Black Berry BEZ environment also provided information on meeting conflicts when you are sent a meeting invitation.
One thing annoys me; The date picking facility that seems to be built into the OS is pretty poor. The three scrolling wheels for year, month and date make it slow to use, and also difficult to work out what date to select if you want something that is, say, 1 week away from today (especially if that leads into another month). It would be better to have a "calendar month" style picker, where you can see an entire month in one go, and switch forwards/backwards a month. Does anyone know if it's possible to change this? Perhaps an app can be installed to replace the standard picker?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Droid Eris user and have been using Google Calendar for some time.I have a single calendar set up which is syncing with the Eris.I can successfully add/edit/delete entries from both applications and have them show up just fine on the other side.I have a couple of recurring entries that I've since deleted in Google Calendar but are still showing up on my Eris.The unique thing about both of these entries is that they were meeting requests sent to my Gmail address and accepted from there.They have since been cancelled from the original sender and are now removed from my Google Calendar.My calendar entries are labeled as dark blue, and these two show as light blue.I cannot select them on the Eris to edit or delete them.

I have shared my second calendar with my primary and my appointments for both show up fine online, and in my DX calendar list, it says my second calendar is on there, but nothing is showing up. I've tried adding new appointments both on device and computer, but they don't sync for that calendar.
Am I missing something? Or does anyone know of a calendar app that will sync with a second gmail calendar?
Problem: Appointments / events created on my LG Optimus G were not syncing to desktop Google Calendar. No problem with appointments / events created on desktop syncing down to phone. Problem Identification: Default calendar when creating appointment / event on phone was calendar called "Phone". There is no calendar on desktop called "Phone". Solution: Pick different calendar when creating an appointment / event on your phone.

And I configure the username and pwd from DevTools->Google Service Login successfully. Now I can start the Calendar app successfully, with the month view/week view/etc. But I don't know how to sync the calendars or events with Google Calendar service. From the source code, I assume there should happen sync operation. But it didn't happened. And I know another trigger to sync is Menu->More->My Calendars, but after selected, the activity will crash. However, I hate HTC Calendar and the way it has sync problems with Google Calendar, i would much prefer the stock Android Google Calendar. Anyone know where I can grab the latest one that comes with non-HTC Froyo so I can make my life better?And for anyone skittish about rooting don't be! It's easy and you won't regret it.it's awesome having the access to just remove whatever files you want whereever they are and customize things.

For the life of me I can't get it to show up on my phone. It doesn't show up in my calendars list under the menu. I've had this problem for weeks. Is there a way to get the calendar events to show up on my google calendar? I use calendar pro which I love. I don't know if there is a work around or I am just not knowledgable enough to understand it. A for instance would be that my work email gives me an event or invite...it will show up on the phones calendar but not on my google calendar/events. (my google notification each morning may say "no events scheduled for the day" but phone calendar/calendar pro will show it)
