I just installed beautiful widgets but it's not updating the time. i have advanced task manager installed but have beautiful widgets as an exception so it won't kill it. same thing with other time widgets as well.

When I have an HTC Clock widget on my home screen the time does not update fluidly. The clock will display the correct time only after I've unlocked the phone and given it several seconds to update. If I swipe over to another screen, wait any period of time (the longer the better), and swipe back; the clock will display the time at which I left that screen and again needs several seconds before it leaps to the correct time. I've tested this theory on the native Android clock widget and it worked correctly. IMO, it defeats the purpose of having the HTC clock widget when the clock in the notifications bar is always accurate. I am also using ATK but I've made sure the Clock process/app is in the ignore list.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone having trouble with widgets stop updating? Like my clock/calendar/weather/news/pretty much any widget i have stops updating after an hour. So i look at my clock widget two hours later and it is an hour behind. Happens to ALL my widgets.Even the quick turn on/off wifi,bt,gps and such. They just stop updating/showing animation.I have ADW launcher installed. I am wondering if it is that. I do not really want to remove it as i hate the stock 3 button interface at the bottom (why do i need a contacts and phone, just use the phone to look thru contacts, wasted space IMO) and am quite keen on keeping the 5 button.Any ideas? If i power off the phone and turn it back on it's fine again for about an hour. SOmetimes randomly thru the day it will start updating and working fine again then randomly stop again.

Also is there a way for the widget (beautiful smaller home) to source weather data from the stock htc weather app? I thought I had it selected to launch weather when I tap the weather info in the widget, but that still launches the beautiful weather screen. Conversely when I tap the date and time I'm taken to the respective stock apps like I want.
My apps widgets arent updating according to the settings. For example, weather bug widget, and Google finance, and engadget. I have to click into the app itself to get it to appear correctly. Sorta defeats the purpose of a widget! Is there another parent setting that is preventing this?

I want to update the widget every minute or so, from when the user initiates the tracking to when the bus has departed (i.e. the time runs out). This widget needs to be updated more frequently than what updatePeriodMillis allows, which is every 30 seconds. I reckon about once a minute. Being new to Android programming, I can think of a few ways to do this, but I would probably end up doing it in a way that consumes way too much battery etc, so I'm looking for some insights from more experienced Android developers. How do I start the timer? How can I access the widget instance from my applications run-time? And so on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently trying to create a cuckoo clock widget in which I am facing problem with updating the pendulum sound each second. My pendulum has to keep on ticking each second with sound effects integrated. I am doing update every second and I am able to play the sound using
mPlay = MediaPlayer.create(context, R.raw.chime); mPlay.start();
But after about 30 seconds, the sound stops playing giving the log error as follows:
E/AudioTrack( 2106): AudioFlinger could not create track, status: -12 E/AudioSink( 2106): Unable to create audio track E/VorbisPlayer( 2106): mAudioSink open failed
Then again the same sound starts playing after a pause of about 20 seconds instead of getting played each second. It continues in this fashion of playing the sound file for some seconds, then to the pause state and then again playing from start. This problem doesn't come into picture when I'm trying to update the sound on hourly basis for my hourly chime because in that case only once every hour this sound is played, same is the case for updation every minute. This problem arises only for updating the sound each second. What is the reason behind this delay?
What way is most efficient for updating an widget that will be a clock(Timer/Alarm), but for a clock to really works, like a clock it would be needed to update at least twice in a minute (30 sec period or less).
But that can't be effective? Have looked at some of the "threads/topics" here at StackOverFlow but haven't found any information regarding effectiveness.
(Don't own an android device yet, so I can't really test battery draining and cpu)
The HTC clock that has the weather foreacast on it is not updating, or rather, not holding the setting when I say YES to automatic update
I go into Menu>Setting>Update automatically, click on the box, then get the Data warning "this may result in additional charges from your wireless provider. Enable automatic download of weather data"
Click on YES
then I back out, and go back in to the setting, and the box is UNCHECKED again.
It's not holding the update yes setting.
I am currently using ESPN ScoreCenter with Launcher Pro Plus and the widget won't update.It used to, but for some reason it stopped one day. I stopped using it and went to SportsTap.Again, it worked at first, but then said no games scheduled (which I know wasn't true).I went back to ESPN, but it won't do anything when I hit the widget. I have to go to my app drawer to open it to get any kind of information. What's the point of a widget if it doesn't do anything except take up space?Any ideas out there? (I tried deselecting the home screen cache option in LPP, but it didn't matter)

I'm currently on APEX launcher and cm9. When i put any widgets on the home screen that auto update, they do work ok for a short while, but then stop. for instance, a clock widget will work for a 10 minutes maybe, but then stick.
I don't use any a task killer.
So I have had my Evo rooted for a few weeks and the only weird thing going on is that the click widget isn't updating. I have gone to settings, turn it on, but once I return to the main page, it unchecks.

When device is in sleep and I switch it back on, the widget is still 'stuck' behind time and doesn't get updated for a few seconds. Anything I am doing wrong? I am using Nova Prime launcher. I first noticed the problem when I hid the notification bar via Nova settings. I had since enabled the notification bar but the problem still persists.
I am using Lewa Rom v13.06.07 on my Jiayu G3 android phone and am very happy with it. The best thing I have seen. However, there is one thing that needs fixing. When I use Viber and exit from it by pressing home button everything still works but if I close it by "sliding" it as you normally close all non running apps it stops and you get no calls or notifications. This is also true for some other apps like HD Widgets (the clock stops updating) and so on.
I believe these issues are caused by built-in task killer which stops all "unnecessary" processes.
So, I wonder if there is some way to set the rules which process will still run in the background
Something minimalist I'm currently using launcher pro, so i want something very basic.

I just installed LauncherPro Beta and I am having some trouble figuring it out. All the HTC stock widgets appear to be gone (such as the clock). Is there any way to get those while using LauncherPro or are they only compatible with Sense?

View 15 Replies View RelatedGenerally my location is detected normally but on occasion i get a number instead of the town i am in on the home screen clock widget. Same goes with the weather widget. I know its not a problem with the town information because sometimes it works and generally does so after being at the location for awhile. However today, for example, my location at work simply displays as "5". It has not updated itself after about 8 hours and counting. Friday it was fine.

Installed Launcher Pro and managed to find the setting to get my 7 screens back, then bought the Beautiful Widgets, but getting the exact skin is elusive. I'd like to get it to look just like the Inc. Also, is there a way to change the setting once it's on the screen? I have to drag the icon to the trash, then add a new one each time to change it. At least it remembers the last settings.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had uninstalled the Weather Widgets app with the HTC style flip clock because I had falsely believed it was causing some FC crashed on my Droid. When I re-installed it, it appears that the flip clock now defaults to a transparent backing with white lettering. Is there any way to get it back to plain white with black lettering? I haven't installed any extras...just the default. Attached is a screen cap of what the flip clock looks like now. I want to get it back to the traditional HTC style flip clock look. Any ideas?

View 15 Replies View RelatedRecently I installed BHMAN's 1.6 ROM without TW, and I'm having a problem where sometimes my clock widgets stop refreshing the time.
Now i've searched for this problem and usually the best solution to this is to delete any task managers installed, which I cannot because the task manager is embedded into Home++, so I'm thinking the only way to get rid of the task manager is to delete the whole Home++, correct? I'm using ADW launcher at the moment.
Looking for ideas. Since this is fairly new to me, I like to have several styles to play around with and didn't want to purchase Beautiful widgets or something similar just yet.
