Motorola Droid :: Weather Widgets Default Flip Clock Now Transparent?
Apr 5, 2010I had uninstalled the Weather Widgets app with the HTC style flip clock because I had falsely believed it was causing some FC crashed on my Droid. When I re-installed it, it appears that the flip clock now defaults to a transparent backing with white lettering. Is there any way to get it back to plain white with black lettering? I haven't installed any extras...just the default. Attached is a screen cap of what the flip clock looks like now. I want to get it back to the traditional HTC style flip clock look. Any ideas?

Jan 11, 2010I have the giant clock/weather widget on my homescreen (the one that comes on the phone when you first get it and the one most people probably use). I have seen animations of this clock on the HTC site that show the digits flipping over. And you would think it would do that anyway based on the design. However, I noticed my doesn't really flip. The digits just change instantaneously. No flipping animation. Is this just mine or is that how it is? I was actually hoping it would flip because I always thought it looked neat.

Aug 12, 2010As I'm reorganizing my main home screen (HTC Desire), I find that the original HTC 4x2 takes up too much space especially because I don't care about the weather part of it. I do like the "flip clock" design though. I have looked around for an alternative and have found the following solutions:
BeautifulWidget small home widgetThis looks nice, especially with the right skin, but it's still a 4x1 widget and the clock itself is not centered even when hiding the weather part of it. Is it possible at all to have the clock centered? Digital World Clock widgetThis one is a 2x1 widget without weather, which means I can center it at the top of the screen. Unfortunately the date display is bogus on a French locale phone, it does not respect the date format (day month year) and the name of the day of the week (Thursday) gets displayed as a number (5) I have contacted the author about that, I'll see if he replies.
HTC Eris :: Flip Clock Animation?

Feb 22, 2010If anyone craves a return to the flipping flip-clock, Kendon over at the MoDaco forum's has brought it back as an update.zip - you will need to have a rooted phone with a custom ROM/recovery image, but I can vouch for me that it has worked perfectly without a wipe - and no noticeable slowing down.

Jan 6, 2010I had deleted the flip clock b/c the weather refused to update. I went back and put it back on and the weather does not show up on the widget now. I have to open up a seperate weather widget on the screen. I've played around with the settings and haven't found a way to remerge the two. I called HTC directly and the rep I spoke with was dumbfounded. Had no idea what was wrong and told me that the only way I could fix this is to do a full system restore. I would prefer not to do that so if anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appriciate it. so it seems that the problem lies when I select "use current city" for the city I want. I choose one of the many cities listed that I don't live in, it works fine. How do I get it to recognize the city I live in?

Nov 11, 2009I have a new Sprint hero and the Flip Clock doesn't flip it just changes and I've seen the Euro Hero it flips so cool, just like the flip clocks from the old days.. WTH why do our American phones always come watered down when compared to the Asian and Euro models!!!! Sorry for the rant! But I paid for a hero with a Flipping Clock that actually flips!! Jan 20, 2010I got my hands on a Sprint Samsung Moment couple of days ago and already am missing my little HTC Touch Vogue(Customized with Windows Mobile 6.5). I was always flashing all kinds of custom ROMs into the Vogue and realize it's not that easy on these android phones. Anyway, I would like to know if there are android apps that will display the Flip clock with the weather and also if there are widgets or apps which will display the email, text message and missed call count on the desktop. I don't care for the notification bar so much.
On another note, I am using K-9 Mail for email but now I get notification from both the stock email client as well as K-9. How does one make K-9 the default? The latest version of K-9 has taken out the Email frequency check from the settings so I'm not sure hot to set the interval for email check.

Aug 10, 2010Recently I installed BHMAN's 1.6 ROM without TW, and I'm having a problem where sometimes my clock widgets stop refreshing the time.
Now i've searched for this problem and usually the best solution to this is to delete any task managers installed, which I cannot because the task manager is embedded into Home++, so I'm thinking the only way to get rid of the task manager is to delete the whole Home++, correct? I'm using ADW launcher at the moment.

Default is nice, but I'd like to tweak it just a tad, and it says it's skinnable.I just haven't figured out how.well, as usual, as soon as I posted I went back and played with it some more, and it looks like you have to configure it as an app, then install the widget. Oct 31, 2009I got Task Panel X for me Hero and i've been trying to play aroudn with it. But ever since I got it, the weather part of HTC's flip clock widget has been messing up. It just shows a blank, no weather. Whenever I turn off the Task Panel X, it stops messing. Does anyone know how to make Task Panel X not stop the weather on the clock app? Jan 18, 2010I got my moment about one month. I noticed the alarm clock sometime worked, sometime not. Especially set up run time over 5 or 6 hours. If it passed the setup time, the alarm clock didn't run, but the setup time still showed on the locked screen (before you unlock your phone). It should show the next run time, not the last run time. I use advanced task killer to kill everything before I go to bed. Is that related?
