View 3 RepliesAs per this post, An idea for great battery life
Could someone with good battery life on a Galaxy S post their batterstats.bin file?
I'd like to try this fix and not sure if the batterystats file would work from the other thread since its a different phone.
I have read a few posts hear saying that it is recommended that after you have upgraded to froyo 2.2 that you should do a System Reset otherwise things might run slower than before?
I have a lot of applications (6 pages) installed on my SGS and also contacts etc setup. I also have some gameloft apps that I cannot redownload if I lost them without paying again.
I am guessing that a reset will wipe all this out? Is there another way without having to start again?
Lets do a little benchmark on our phones! Here are my results on my Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant International Version GT I9000! Stock 2.1, no root, no lag fix.

So far I've added: No Lock - this is awesome! It allows me to simply push the side button and the phone is on. No more swiping!
Battery Indicator- This is AWESOME. It shows me what percentage my battery is at AND allows me to control GPS, WIFI, Blutooth, and display all from this widget.
Google Voice- so I can read my voicemails
Ringdroid- to customize ringtones
History Eraser- Gives you the option to delete call log, contacts, browser, apps, or misc. things.
These are the *useful* apps for this particular phone that I have found so far. I will add more as I come across them. Please post your suggestions!
Post your reaction face when you get 2.1

View 21 Replies View RelatedI have the update, and I'm wondering if I use recovery mode if I will reset back to pre or post update.
I ask because I like to run factory stock and delete apps I do not use. And I would like to delete the Device management now, but would want to be able to go back at some point when another update comes down.
The trick to delete the data from the settings doesn't work, it reappears immediately.
They deleted my thread with a link to our petition which means they know they are lying to us...

View 2 Replies View RelatedOne of the selling points of the Epic 4G is the 5mp Camera it has.. Gizmodo rated better than the iphone's and even though, it doesn't have 8 mp (Evo), its 5 mp picture has a higher quality than Evo's.
Please post your pictures and if you can use some of the photo apps available ( Fxcamera, Retro cam, Camera Illusion, Vignette, Photostitch), it will give us a better idea of how good the camera and apps are.
how to post from a computer? how to add pictures?

View 43 Replies View RelatedI have an API. I'm using that requires me to POST instead of use GET to submit my credentials before receiving back my XML response. I've parsed a bunch of various XML services like this, but this is the first time I've run across having to post to the URL. Basically they want a username and password parameter submitted as a post to the URL before the XML is fed back. Does anyone have a working example, or maybe able to point me in the right direction?

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got the S4 and i love it, only problem is every time i try to post a picture to instagram it shows up either distorted or just a black picture. Idk if it has to do with the photo resolution or size since the camera is a 13 mega pixel compared to my old phones 8 mega pixel.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the forums and so far am loving the vast amount of stuff I'm learning from this site and what this phone can really do! I just received my bill from Verizon for May and compared it to my April bill. I went from using 52MB of data on my Omnia to 545MB of data on my Incredible! I'm so thankful for the unlimited data
What was your data usage before and after you got your Incredible?
Having wifi on when you're near a router is supposed to save battery since the router is close and the phone doesn't have to search for a 3g signal. After the OTA update my phone no longer sleeps when I have wifi enabled. So now I'm killing my battery by using my home/work wifi routers instead of taxing sprints network connecting to 3g. Is my phone the only one doing this? I haven't read any other reports.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to do something I thought would be relatively simple: Upload an image to a server with the Android SDK. I'm found a lot of example code:
http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/thread/f9e17bbaf50c5fc/46145fcacd450e48
[url]
But neither work for me. The confusion I keep running into is what is really needed to make a multipart request. What is the simplest way to have a multipart upload (with an image) for Android?
Hopefully inspiration for all. Simple rules:
- No discussion
- Only one wallpaper allowed per post [your current wallpaper!]
- Link to wallpaper [or method to obtain it, or allow a 'save as...']
I'll start:

I'm developing an application related to daily horoscopes. I have to add a functionality that allows user to post his/her horoscope on his/ her facebook profile. as far as i know we have to get some permissions from the user to post things to their profiles. but i don't know how to do that from android.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a question related to the Android MediaPlayer. Can it stream content through HTTP POST method , or do I have to write my own implementation? If so, what SDK do I have to use?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a pretty basic helper class that I'm using to do all my Http Get/Post stuff. I'm using HttpGet, HttpPost, and HttpClient from the org.apache.http library. All of my stuff works fine over HTTP, but as soon as I tried to consume a service that works over HTTPS, I get a ClientProtocolException when executing the request. The only message in the exception is "The server failed to respond with a valid HTTP response".
To test, I sent the exact same payload from a browser using a simple html form and Fiddler2 using the RequestBuilder. I've sent invalid and empty payloads and even sent all of the above with and without headers to see if there was something funky about the way the objects were building the request.
Everything I've used in testing gives me a valid 200 status HTTP response. The service just gives me a structure describing the error if I give it something other than what it expects.
Is there something special I need to add to the HttpPost or HttpClient object(s) to tell it to use HTTPS? Do I have to explicitly tell it to use a different port?
I indeed registered the wrong socket factory for https communication. Here is the updated method that I use to create my HttpClient object with the correct socket factory just in case someone searches this kind of problem in the future:
